ANNOUNCEMENTS

Come one come ALL! Mark your calendars for FALL FEST/CHILI COOK-OFF. Sunday, October 21st at Metropolitan Jr. Academy @ 4:00 p.m. Invite all your friends! Lots of good food, games including a dunk tank, bounce house, bobbing for apples, we can’t name them all so come and see what other fun is to be had! Not to mention some of the best homemade chili to warm your bellies! Come support your school and church all while brining in the fall with family! Looking forward to seeing all of you there! Public Hi-C Registration open – The Youth Department & CAMPUS are excited to introduce a new approach to Public Hi-C at Camp Au Sable! This year’s focus: Fieldwork. Our renewed purpose is training Public Hi-C students to know and meet the needs of their respective communities through Christ’s method of ministry and service. To accomplish this, we have made the difficult decision to cap our registration to 200 and to limit the number of attendees outside of our target audience (Those that attend non-Adventist schools). Consequently, Adventist students are encouraged to bring their classmates and friends with high spiritual interest. Please remember that high school students must come with a chaperone of same gender. The chaperone must complete the registration process for high school students and be responsible for them throughout the retreat. We encourage you to pray for this very important training and evangelistic event and to register (https://campusmin.typeform.com/to/ry7ir) your young people and their friends as soon as possible. It will fill quickly. Deadline to register is October 25th. Cost: $60/person. Dr. Michael Hasel will be coming to Metro on November 3rd. Dr. Hasel is the chair of the archaeology department at Southern Adventist University and is highly sought after the world over. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to hear Dr. Hasel connect archaeology with Bible prophecy. This would be a great event to which you can invite your friends and family. They will be blown away and learn a lot about how the Bible is supported by archaeological finds. Religious Liberty Sabbath – October 20th: The Warren SDA Church has the pleasure of hosting Greg Hamilton, President of the Northwest Religious Liberty Association on Sabbath, October 20, 2018. He will be speaking for the worship hour with another presentation after lunch. At this critical time in history and with the unique Seventh-day Adventist view of Religious Liberty, we would like to make this a District wide event. Greg has a passion for helping both Christians and secularists understand the true nature and intent of our Nation’s constitutional founding, particularly as it applies to current religious, political, and constitutional policy trends. From a theological perspective, he loves to focus on Christ’s mission to save and the true nature of His kingdom. Most of all, he enjoys sharing significant parallels from Christ’s life – particularly the closing scenes – that illuminate current events and Bible Prophecy. Attention Parents/Grandparents of young men in boarding or public high school & college. We want to invite you to participate in a Young Men’s Care Ministry. Please forward the names of the young men, along with your email address and/or telephone numbers to Br. & Sis. Kolcz at [email protected]. We will contact you and discuss our plans to prepare care packages for delivery. We want our young men to know they are not forgotten by their church family, while they are way.
