assessment be performed? If such a reviewiwill be conducted, what is the projected date

that this review will be completed? ]|

Response: The Group Vice President, Nuclear has I

commissioned an independent team to perform athird party review of STP's readiness to

resume operation. The five person team isheaded by Mr. Murray Selman, former ExecutiveVice President of Consolidated Edison. While )

at Consolidated Edison, Mr. Selman hadresponsibility for the operation of the IndianPoint Nuclear Station, and more recently hasperformed outside assessments relating to theeffectiveness of nuclear station managementand outage performance. Other members of theteam will consist of senior consultants withextensive nuclear and managerial experience.The team is tentatively scheduled to make itsfirst assessment the week ofNovember 15, 1993. Based on the results ofthat assessment, a second week of assessment,tentatively the last week in December, is

being considered. STP will provide moredetails to the NRC when the schedule is

finalized.
