• Recognized pollution problem.

• Formed task force to examine problem.

• TU volunteers Identified over 900 pollution sites on public unpaved roads in protected watersheds.

• $4M for municipal and state roads • $1M for DCNR roads

Special recognition needs to be made to former State Senator Doyle Corman, who championed the Pennsylvania program through funding Section 9106 of the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code

(a) Statement of purpose.--It is the intent and purpose of this section:

(1) To fund safe, efficient and environmentally sound

maintenance of sections of dirt and gravel roads which have

been identified as sources of dust and sediment pollution.

Major Program Changes: • $1M to $7M for DCNR roads • $4M to $28M for municipal and state roads • Of that $28M, at least $8M for paved low-

volume roads (<500 cars per day) Senator Jake Corman was a champion for the program increase.
