SuccessFactors Performance Management Training Document
This document will provide instructions on how to complete key processes in the SuccessFactors Performance Management system. The document will cover the following processes:

Adding Notes to the Employee Profile
This section will provide instructions on how to add performance related notes to the profile for your direct reports in SuccessFactors.
Note- You will only be able to see the notes for your direct reports. Copies of all notes should be saved in a file outside of the SuccessFactors system.
1. To access the SuccessFactors Performance Evaluation System, log into your account atMyNorthsideHR.com and select the menu item Career Evolution. Under the I Want tosection, select Access SuccessFactors.
2. Log in into the SuccessFactors system using your login credentials
3. From the home screen of SuccessFactors, click anywhere in the My Team box for a list ofyour direct reports.
4. Select the direct report that you want to add notes for and click Take action.
5. Click Notes
6. You are now on the notes page. Click “Notes” at the top of the page and “Add Note” to entera title for the new note.
9. You will have the option to share this note with other leaders in the organization. To do this,click the “Add Viewer” box.
10. Then enter the name of the person that you want to share the note with in the “search bar”and click their name.
11. Click “Submit”.
12. Once you have created the note, you have the ability to Edit or Delete the note. To edit thenote, click the “Pencil” icon.
13. You can edit the title and body of the note and you can edit whom the note is visible to. Youcan also delete the note. Click “Cancel” to exit this window.
Note- Any notes added can be viewed on the performance evaluation by clicking Employee Notes but will not appear on the printed copy of the evaluation.
Accessing Previous Year Performance Evaluations
This section will provide instructions on how to access previous year evaluations for your current direct reports.
1. To access the SuccessFactors Performance Evaluation System, log into your account atMyNorthsideHR.com and select the menu item Career Evolution. Under the I Want tosection, select Access SuccessFactors.
2. Log in into the SuccessFactors system using your login credentials
3. From the home screen of SuccessFactors, click anywhere in the My Team box for a list ofyour direct reports.
4. Select the direct report that you want to access previous year evaluations for and click Takeaction.
5. Click History
6. You are now on the history page for your direct report. Click on the performance evaluationthat you want to view.
7. You will be taken to a full page for the full performance evaluation for the selected directreport.
You can also access previous year evaluations from the Performance page.
1. From the home page of SuccessFactors, click “Home” and then “Performance”
2. To access evaluations for your current direct reports click on;a. Inbox to see evaluations in the Manager Review, Performance Discussion of
Manager Signature stage that require your actionb. En Route to see evaluations that are currently with your 2nd level approverc. Completed to see completed evaluations for your direct reports
3. Click on the title of the evaluation to open the evaluation
4. The evaluation will appear
Note- You will have the option to print and save the document appear at the top right corner of the page.
Cascading Goals for your Direct Reports
This section provides instructions on how to cascade Job Performance Standards (Goals) from one of your direct reports to another direct report.
1. To access the SuccessFactors Performance Evaluation System, log into your account atMyNorthsideHR.com and select the menu item Career Evolution. Under the I Want tosection, select Access SuccessFactors.
2. Log in into the SuccessFactors system using your login credentials
3. From the home screen of SuccessFactors, click anywhere in the My Team box for a list ofyour direct reports.
4. Select the direct report that you want to copy goals from and click Take action.
5. Click Proxy Now to take control of that employee’s profile.
6. You are now in the selected employee’s profile. You will know you are proxied into theaccount for your direct report because you will see “Your name on behalf of employee’sname on the top right side of the page”. Click Home,
7. Click Goals
8. You will be taken to the employee’s goal plan for the current year. From here, you canselect the goal (s) that you want to cascade to you another employee or employees.
a. Note- DO NOT select Organization Wide Goals (i.e. Service Standards andRetention). Northside will assign these goals to the employee goal plans eachyear.
10. Click Actions and then click Cascade
*Note: If the goals/job performance standards are on 2 pages you will need to complete thecascade process for each page*
11. A pop-up window will appear asking you to select the employee or employees you wantto cascade the goal(s) to. Not all of your direct reports are visible. Click the leader’s name(your name) to expand your list of direct reports.
12. You also have the option of finding your direct reports by clicking the “Find OtherEmployees” magnifying glass.
13. You will then select the name (s) for the direct reports you want to cascade the goals to.a. Note- You cannot cascade goals for employees who are not your direct reports.
14. Click Next
15. SuccessFactors gives you the option of modifying the copied goal (or goals) before it iscascaded to other employees. You will also notice that the system notifies you againwhich of your direct reports have already been through the cascading process. Again,please remember that if the goals are on two pages, you will need to complete thecascade process for each page. Once you have completed modifying the goal, scroll down
a. Note- The system notifies you of which of your direct reports have already beenthrough the cascading process
b. Note- If the goals are on two pages, you will need to complete the cascadeprocess for each page
16. A confirmation pop-up box will appear verifying that you have cascaded your goalsuccessfully. Click OK
17. In order to get back to your home page, click the drop down at the top of the right handcorner of the screen and click Become Self.
18. Once you are back on your home page, access the goal plan for one of the employeesyou cascaded to and verify that the goals have been added to the goal plan.
Organizing Completed Employee Evaluations
This section provides instructions on how to organize completed performance evaluations for your current direct reports.
1. To access the SuccessFactors Performance Evaluation System, log into your account atMyNorthsideHR.com and select the menu item Career Evolution. Under the I Want tosection, select Access SuccessFactors.
2. Log in to the SuccessFactors system using your login credentials
3. From the main menu of SuccessFactors, click Performance
4. Click on the completed folder
Printing Performance Evaluations
This section provides instructions on how to print a performance evaluation.
1. To access the SuccessFactors Performance Evaluation System, log into your account atMyNorthsideHR.com and select the menu item Career Evolution. Under the I Want tosection, select Access SuccessFactors.
2. Log in into the SuccessFactors system using your login credentials
3. From the home screen of SuccessFactors, click anywhere in the My Team box for a list ofyour direct reports.
4. Select the direct report that you want to print an evaluation for and click Take action.
5. Select the current year Performance Evaluation Form
6. You will be taken to the evalution for your direct report. Click the PDF icon
7. You will be taken to a PDF version of the evaluation. Click Show PDFa. You have the option to select the section to include in the printed version
8. When the PDF opens, right click your mouse and select Print
Uploading a Document
This section provides instructions on how to upload a performance related document or attachment to your direct reports profile in SuccessFactors.
1. To access the SuccessFactors Performance Evaluation System, log into your account atMyNorthsideHR.com and select the menu item Career Evolution. Under the I Want tosection, select Access SuccessFactors.
2. Log in into the SuccessFactors system using your login credentials
3. From the home screen of SuccessFactors, click anywhere in the My Team box for a list ofyour direct reports.
4. Select the direct report that you to upload a document to and click Take action.
5. Click Profile to be taken to profile for your direct report
6. You are now on the selected direct report’s profile page. To add the attachment, scrolldown and click the black plus sign
9. Browse your computer files to find the performance related document you want toupload for your direct report. Select the file
10. Click Open
Copying Goals from Previous Year Goal Plan
This section provides instructions on how to copy and cascade Job Performance Standards (Goals) from a previous year goal plan to the current year goal plan for an employee.
1. To access the SuccessFactors Performance Evaluation System, log into your account atMyNorthsideHR.com and select the menu item Career Evolution. Under the I Want tosection, select Access SuccessFactors.
2. Log in into the SuccessFactors system using your login credentials
3.From the home screen of SuccessFactors, click anywhere in the My Team box for a list ofyour direct reports.
4.Select the direct report that you want to copy goals for and click Take action.
5.Click Goal Plan
6.You will be taken to the selected direct report’s goal plan. Ensure you are on the currentyear goal plan and click Add Goal
7.You will see two options, click Copy From Other Goal Plan
8.Select the Goal Plan with the goals you want to copy
9.Click Next
10. Select the goal(s) you want to copy to the current year’s goal plan by checking theappropriate boxes
Note- DO NOT select Organization Wide Goals (i.e. Service Standards and Retention). Northside will assign these goals to the employee goal plans each year.
11.Click Copy
12. To confirm the goals have been added, review the current goal plan for the employee. As areminder, never copy the service excellence or retention goals. Northside automaticallyassigns those goals.
