Short Life History

Hazrat’s father passed away when he was at a very young

age. Owing to ecominic hardship, he was forced to leave school

at class 5. He spends his early tender age in difficulties. During

the initial days, he used to sell kheer, halwa etc outside the

schools and used to help her mother. He also used to make toys

and sell them in the market. He later learned tailoring work and

worked in Bareily and Shah jahanpur. He helped her mother

with money earned out of labor and hard work. Her mother was

a pious lady and used to dedicate herself to praying and reading

Quran. He had two sisters and no brothers.

Hazrat’s mother had trained him from early childhood to

pray Namaz. She used to drag him out of the comforter in cold

days and make him do wudu and send him to the mosque to

pray Namaz. Steadfastness and struggle in the way of Almighty

Allah had been ingrained in him since the early age which

formed a strong foundation for his spiritual greatness

throughout his life.

At almost 18 years of age, he was blessed with being a

mureed at the hands of Dada Miyan Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah

R.A. in Pilibhit. He then came to Bombay to earn his living at

the time of British raaj in India. He worked very hard in

Bombay and saved some money from which he bought a store

at Nagpada, Bombay and opened a shop in the name of King’s

Tailor which became famous. Sarkar used to stitch suits. He

used to also wear suits. He was handsome and well built. He

used to spend time at the seaside sometime wearing suits. Dada

Miyan Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A. tested him many times.

At one time, his mother was sick at home and Dada Miyan

asked him to go to Bombay. He didn’t stop and left for Bombay.

When Dada Miyan glanced at him second time, his heart

wrenched away from worldly stuff. Heart started immersing in

the love of Allah. Every year Dada Miyan Hazrat Khwaja Hasan

Shah R.A. used to come to Mumbay and everytime he used to

direct Sarkar towards new test. Dada Miyan got a shirt made of

rug and gave it to Sarkar. He said “this will be good for Abdul

Majid.” He used to roam around his shop wearing this rug shirt

for two years. There was a time when he was fond of suits and

ties and shirts and now he was tested with rug shirt. He never

asked or told anyone during the time of difficulties. He started

Page 5: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(5)

fasting every day and used to keep some dates in his pocket for

iftaar.

He used to walk on foot to pay visit at Sufi saint’s tomb.

He used to leave Nagapada at 11 pm in the night for Maghdoom

Mahimi’s tomb and used spend all night at the dargah busying

himself in zikr o azkar. He used to pray tahajjud and then Fajr

namaaz in jamat. He used to then walk back to his shop on foot.

Note that his distance is almost 20 km both ways. Sufi Abdul

Jaleel Majidi (Jaunpur) and Sufi Muhammad Hussain Majidi

(Azamgarh) have walked with him on foot to Mahim Dargah in

those days.

Sufi Mohammad Aqeel Majidi states that when Sarkar

was at Kurla’s Hill busy in chilla (40-day spiritual retreat), then

one of Hazrat’s Peer Bhai who was a Majzoob, Hazrat Lallu

Chacha, came around and did a tawaf of his hujra where Sarkar

was busy in the chilla and bowed from outside with utmost

respect. Then he said “Why does he need to do all this chill-

willa, he is already blessed a lot from our peer o murshid.”

(A Majzoob (Saint, Wali) is a pious venerable who

dedicate himself in the devotion of Almighty Allah. Hence by

the benevolence of Allah and Sadqua of “The Lord of all the

Worlds” Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) and by the Marfat

and guidance of his Murshid, he seeks such goals and reaches

above those spiritual heights that he apathetic from himself.

Their every moment perpetually passes in Diwangi (Insanity).

At times Rules of Shariat does not hold valid for a Majzoob)

Sarkar’s work had stopped and there was no source of

income for longest of times. Rug shirt was on for almost two

years now. After much hardship, Dada Miyan gave signs to start

work again. Now Sarkar’s work started again and when Sarkar

got his first salary from his tailor job, he sends all the money to

Dada Miyan Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A. at Bhaynsuri

Sharif through money order. When Dada Miyan received that

money, he showed it to everyone and said “See, my Abdul

Majeed had sent his first income to me whereas he should have

sent it to his family. See how much he is devoted to his

murshid.” Dada Miyan then dispatched that money to our

Peerani Ammi at Peeli Bheet.

Once Sarkar was with Sufi Muhammad Aqeel Majidi at

Haji Ali Dargha, Bombay. He asked him to bring tea and gave

Page 7: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(7)

him some money. Sarkar then showed him a 10-rupee note

which was given to him by Dada Miyan and he has kept it safe

without spending it ever.

Sarkar’s peer bhai used to always visit Sarkar before

leaving to meet Dada Miyan Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A..

Sarkar used to cook something from his hand and give it to Peer

Bhai to present it to Dada Miyan. Once he made an egg halwa

and packed it and wrote on the package on a piece of paper.

کیا پیش کروں آپ کو کیا پاس ہے هیرے

History of Sarkar’s Bayt

(Becoming mureed to Dada Miyan)

My Murshid Hazrat Siraj ul Auliya became mureed on

the hands of Dada Miyan Makhdoom Khwaja Muhammad

Hasan RA at the age of 18. The story of his becoming bayt goes

as the following. Sarkar was in his village at Pilibhit whil Dada

Miya was also in the village during one of his visits. Everyone

in the village was talking about his blessed visit all day and

night. Sarkar too with one of his relatives went to pay his visit

to Dada Miyan. There was no stopping after seeing his blessed

face and Sarkar become his mureed at that moment itself. Dada

Miyan went away for his daura (religious trip) and Sarkar

moved to Bombay in search of his living. He worked really hard

in Bombay and became a renowned master tailor. He bought a

Page 9: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(9)

shop at Nagpada near J.J Hospital and named it as “King’s

Tailor” on the shop display board. He became famous as one of

the best in specialist men’s tailoring.

After becoming mureed, Qibla Dada Miyan through his

spiritual tidings put special attention on Sarkar and he made a

trip to Pilibhit. Dada Miyan was also there during the trip and

then spiritual connection reached its highest level. Hazrat’s state

transformed and his heart was full of love (muhabbah) for his

murshid. His eyes were full of ecstasy and he craved to drink

more and more from the hands of his murshid and heart started

losing is control. Hence, Hazrat mentioned his state at that

moment through the following couplets

میں پیتب نہیں تھب پال ئی گئی ہے

نظر مجھ سے قسدًا مالئی گئی ہے

Page 10: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

Early Days

Sarkar Murshid Siraj-ul-Auliya Khwaja Majid-ul-Hasan

Shah has grown his beard as per Sunnah of Holy Prophet and

our Dada Miyan (Hazrat Hasan Shah Sahab’s) special attention

has been on him all along. Brother from the Silsilah coming

from Bhaynsuri Sharif to Pilibhit told our Peer Sahab that Dada

Miyan Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A. was looking for him.

Listening to his call from the beloved, love started to overflow

beyond the boundaries of patience. And the thirst and longing to

meet his beloved started to make him anxious even more.

Page 11: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(11)

Our respectable Hazrat left for Bhaynsuri Sharif and upon

reaching Nagariya Sadat Railway Station met Sufi Mahboob

Miyan, who as per Dada Miyan’s instruction handed over a

ticket for Roorkee to Hazrat and said “Miyan is at Hazrat Syed

Ali Ahmed Alauddin Sabir Piya Kaliyar Rahmatullah Alayh’s

shrine at Kaliyar Sharif and has asked him to meet there.” Our

Beloved Hazrat left promptly for Kaliyar Sharif.

Upon reaching Kaliyar, he reported to Dada Miyan’s

service and kissed his feet. One of our peer bhais has invited

Dada miyan for a feast where our Hazrat and other Sufis left for

Page 12: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(12)

the dawat. Dining was extended with the selection of rotis,

pulau, chicken curry and chutney. After fatiyah and shijra

khwani for wisal-e-sawab, roti and curry was offered to

everyone. Before starting to eat, Dada Miyan picked up the

bowl of chutney and said “I love this Chutney” and then tasted a

bit with his finger and said “Aha, Aha, very well made.” He

then forwarded the bowl to our Sarkar Murshid, who then ate

roti with the chutney with utmost delight while everyone else

indulged themselves with chicken curry. I am not sure if the

fellow Sufis present during that time understood the importance

of this gesture by Dada Miya of utmost level of humility,

humbleness and gratitude, but our Hazrat made sure that

chutney was always available during dining. He also instructed

the mureeds towards this great example of humility and

humbleness and taught them this formula which they

remembered all our lives with its core benefits. He also taught

us that the patience and endurance during that dining session

made Allah blessed us with naymah and barakat in our lives.

When our Hazrat’s peer bhais used to come to Bombay

with Dada Miyan (Khwaja Hasan Shah) during those days, they

used to come straight to Hazrat’s tailor shop. After Dada miyan

Page 13: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(13)

was done freshening up, Hazrat used to take him to places he

wanted to visit. It so happened once that one of Hazrat’s peer

bhais, who used to work at Bareilly Station, came to Bombay

Central when Dada Miya was in the city too. This Peer Bhai had

come to Bombay without any address of Dada Miyan. Now he

was confused and helpless at the station and you can imagine

how the situation might be in the day of no telephone. He

pleaded to Almighty Allah “Ilahee humko hamare Peer tak

pahuncha de (Allah, please show me the way to find my Peer O

Murshid who is residing at Sufi Majid Shah). He pleaded while

placing the luggage on the porter (qooli). He came right from

Mumbai Central to King’s Tailor in front of JJ Hospital. At the

same time, there was some uneasiness happening in the heart of

my Peer O Hazrat who was inside the shop. He left the sewing

machine and came out of the shop and waited for the peer bhai

to come and there he was. They both embraced each other and

Hazrat took him to Dada Miyan. Dada Miyan (Khwaja Hasan

Shah) told Hazrat (Khwaja Majid-ul-Hasan Shah) one of the

qualities of this peer bhai that he would not leave the fasting

(roza) in Ramadan during intense heat wave and will do labor

work at Bareilly Station loading wagons. Any individual would

Page 14: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

give up at this exhaustive effort but this Bhai was relentless in

his dedication.

Visiting the Shrine of

Hazrat Syed Abdullah Shah Bukhari Urf

Pedro Shah R.A.

19 September, 2003

21 Rajab, 1424 Hijri

As stated by Syed Sahab (Bambai Walay)

Today on Friday we are visiting the Shrine of

Hazrat Pedru Shah RA with our Hazrat Peer O Murshid

(Khwaja Majid-ul-Hasan Shah) on Friday prayer. The holy

shrine is located at Hajj House in Bombay near VT Railway

Page 15: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(15)

Station. After the Jumaa prayer and Salat o Salam, big crowd

gathered around the shrine to pay homage. Hence, our Hazrat

sat in the verandah and we also sat around our Peer O Murshid.

He said “Hazrat Pedru Shah’s original name is Syed Abdullah

Shah Bukhari. He was a great a Mujahid Sufi. He used to do

labour work during the day time. He used to put head cloth and

does porter/labor work.

Once a Parsi hired him for labour work and placed his

luggage on to his head and they left for the destination. During

the journey the Parsi was astonished by Baba’s miracle. He saw

that the luggage was actually one feet above Baba’s head and

was walking parallel to Baba’s head. He screamed right away

Page 16: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(16)

“Oh lord!! This Baba is not an ordinary person, He is Pedro

Baba.” Hence the name Pedro Shah Baba was famous thereon.

Our Hazrat also stated that Padro Shah Baba is Qutub of

this area and he used to pay his visit to the holy shrine every

Thursday. He used to leave from his shop on foot and pray

Maghrib at the holy shrine. Between Asar and Maghrib, he

used to sit leaning on the walls of the mazar which is made up

of white marble (this was made by Memon community). He

while speaking about this was actually sitting at the same

posture he used to sit back in the days. The audience present at

that moment was Hazrat’s youngest son Sufi Meraj ul Hasan

Majidi, I his humble servant Syed Abdul Rahim Majidi, Sufi

Maqbool Hussain Majidi, Raees Ahmed Majidi, Haji

Muinuddin Majidi, Mohammad Farooq Majidi, and Shadaab

Majidi.

Sarkar further stated that “We have always had

unquestionable obedience and submission towards Dada Miyan

Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A. He, Dada Miyan, used to

frequently visit this mazaar. He used to also visit the mazaar of

Makhdoom Ali Mahimi Rahmatullah Alayh quite often. Listen

Oh Syed Sahab (Sarkar used to refer this humble servant with

Page 17: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(17)

this name). I got startled and looked at Sarkar who was pointing

towards the direction of Haj House. Dada Miyan once sat at this

place and was getting his beard trimmed. My Peer during this

trip from Bhaynsuri Sharif to Bombay after arrival came

directly to Pedru Shah Baba’s shrine and was resting there.

There were lot of peer bhai’s assembled with me at that time.

(During the initial days of hardships, I had no stable place to

live or had a Khanquah. Hence, I struggled to have my mureeds

do dhikr or conduct mahfil-e-sama).

My peer bhai after lunch pleaded to Dada Miyan “Sarkar,

Sufi Abdul Majid Bhai has not found a place yet.” Upon hearing

this, Sarkar Sultan ul Auliya Hazrat Dada Miyan promptly came

into a state of Jalaal and said while holding his taiband “If he

does not get a place I will remove my taiband.” It was his

blessing that I got a place very soon, which is alhamdullillah

today Mahfil E Jahangirya at Antop Hill, Bombay. This

Khanquah is famous throughout the country amongst sufis,

dervesh, and ahle salasil.

Note: Khwaja Muhammad Hasan Shah passed away 1958 and his

holy shrine is at Bhaynsuri Sharif, Rampur (UP).

Page 18: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(18)

Love for his Murshid

(Dada Miyan Hz. Hasan Shah RA)

My Murshid never used to tolerate any disrespect against

his Murshid (Dada Miyan Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A.). If

any peer bhai used to complain to Hazrat about Dada Miyan

Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A., Hazrat used to get wild and

angry and at many times even ended up beating up that person.

All the peer bhais used to get scared of him. Eventually the

“punishment” stories reach Dada Miyan. After inquiring about

the reason, Dada Miya Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A.

said “Whatever he did was in return of his love for his Murshid

and he is right on that.”

Page 19: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(19)

My Sarkar used to love and respect anyone who

expressed love and respect for Dada Miyan. Sarkar used to treat

him with tea and biscuits and be extra respectful towards him.

In all stages of his life, be it times of difficulty and

struggle or stages of happiness and prosperty, Sarkar always

maintained the middle path and never crossed the limits. He

never asked for loan or help to anyone for his own sake even if

it meant to go without food for days. Dada Miya had mentioned

in passing at one time that Sufis do not eat at night. Sarkar never

ate during the night after that. He used fast dedicatedly in the

month of Rajab, Shaban and Ramadan which is confirmed in

various Sahih Hadith as the way of life of Holy Prophet

(PBUH).

Momin’s Qibla

Once we all went to a dinner invitation with our Hazrat to

one of Peer Bhai’s house. Hazrat asked us to make

arrangements for Zuhr namaz and asked all of us that where is

Qibla? We were at a new place and started speculating direction

of the Qibla. Our Hazrat asked again “Tell me exactly which

direction is the Qibla.” We called the peer bhai (host) so that he

can exactly direct us to the direction of Qibla. One of the peer

Page 20: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(20)

bhai walked ahead and stood in front of Sarkar and said “Sarkar,

our Qibla is right here (i.e., in front of he.). Sarkar then said “He

guys are novice. When her Dada Miyan used to ask us where is

the Qibla then the wiser person amongst us used to get forward

and say that Sarkar our Qibla is where he are. He then said the

following hadith “”QULUBUL MOMINI ARSHULLAHI

TALA (The heart of Momin is the roof (Sky) of the Allah).”

ارزوسوا کہاں تیری وسط کو پا سکا

هیراہی دل ہے وہ جہاں تو سوا سکا

The earth and sky could not find hers scope

And my heart is such in which he can accommodate

(Allama Iqbal RUA)

Hazrat’s Prayers and Mujahida

During the initial days, Sarkar used to be awake at nights

at prayer for an extended period of time adding up to months.

Hence, Dada Miyan Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A. used to

call him lovingly as “jaggu”, meaning one who never sleeps.

Sarkar used to stay up till 2 am or wake up at 2 am and then

spend rest of the night in tahajjud, zikr-e-ilahi, Fajr and ishraaq

namaaz till dawn.

Page 21: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(21)

Note: Sarkar used to retire to bed at 10 pm during winters and 11 pm

during summer and used to get up at sharp 3 AM for ibadat and

riyazat.

Sarkar’s assistants (Khadim) used to spread out the prayer

mat (musalla) in the night and they used to fold the upper end

and place a small light stand near the mat. After getting up,

Sarkar used to freshen up and then do wuddu with warm water.

He used to then comb his hair and beard and then after wearing

the silsila taaj (cap) used to go to the musalla for prayer. He

used then busy himself with tahajjud namaz and then zikr e

ilahi. After Fajr adhaan, he used to perform sunnat and farz

namaaz. During his last days, his legs had weakend and hence

he used to pray sitting down. After the namaz, he used to busy

himself in aurad o wazaif. He used to read the following wazaif

as detailed below:

He used to recite Surah Muzammil

Durood o Salat o Salam

He used to recite shijra and do fatiyah khwani

He used to then busy himself in dua

He used to then stroll for a bit at Khanquah’s warandah

and listen to Salat O Salam’s audio cassette. Following are its

wordings “Aaaqa Le Lo Salaam Ab Hamara”

Page 22: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

Important Notes

The blessed water given by Sarkar after reading dua on

it is the cure to many diseases, issues related to destiny.

Distressed people get a sense of contentment and

happiness just by sitting in his sacred company just

by his one look.

It is bound to happen if my Sarkar says anything

verbally.

A small leaf from a plant ends up being a source of cure

for a gallbladder patient; he used to give three leaves

after reading dua on it and it was sufficient for relief.

A sweet dish or mithai given by his own blessed hand

ends up being a source of cure for an ailing patient.

He has gotten married numerous numbers of poor girls

and helped them financially; these girls are all settled

in their lives with kids.

He helped many mureeds financially and paid for visa

and tickets for many to go and work in Middle East.

Page 23: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(23)

He helped some kids by paying their school and tuition

fees so that they educate themselves and set-up for

success in their lives.

He used to get anxious and troubled upon seeing any

murid in agony and distress and would ask the reason for

his sorrow. Sarkar used to educate them to be steadfast

at times of difficulty. He used to say I will pray for you.

His prayers had immense effect and the suffering used to

subside in matter of days.

He used to pray all night long on auspicious night of 12

Rabi ul Awwal, Shab e Meraj, Shab E Barat, Shab E

Qadr, 27 Ramzan Ul Mubarak, 9 Muharram. He used to

also ensure that all mureeds also pray in these nights

without fail.

Sufism Couplets that Huzoor Loved

My Huzoor used to always sing the following couplets:

اے غن یار تیرے دم سے تعویرحیات

تو سالهت ہے تو هٹی هیری ترتاد نہیں

***********

هست حرام ساقی یا هال ناز ہوجا

هحوود پھر تنےگا پہلے ایاز ہوجا

Page 24: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(24)

Though being an Auliya Allah of superior status, my

Sarkar used to love researching and enhancing knowledge in

religious subject matter. He used to listen the news on the radio

if there was any world breaking news. He use to listen to BBC

London Urdu news every morning. Sarkar has special

attachments to Sufi couplets, qawwali and naat. During the

initial days, he used to ask his mureeds to participate in all night

prayers. He used to sing couplets rich in tasawwuf and also ask

mureed to sing along. He used to always play these sufi music

in the casette form and be immersed in the spiritual trance.

Many mureeds used to come and start gathering quietly around

him on the mats. The environment used to be filled with ecstasy

and people use to start being immersed in this feeling of

spiritual ecstasy and start dancing and used to fall at her feet and

used to come back to consciousness and go back and sit at their

places.

Page 25: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(25)

The words of wisdom and love and ecstasy and respect

used to create a sense of spiritual drunkenness inside us. His

way of talking and explanation was so spell-bounding that the

listener used to be just engulfed in its context and no one used

to want to move away from her service at that time. To the

extent that Sarkar used to himself dissolve the mahfil and retire

to his hujrah.

MIRACLES

Hazrat appears in front of a Mureed and then Disappears

Sufi Muhammad Jumai stated that this incident happened

before 1970 when I was going to my village Gonda from

Bombay with the intention of staying there for two months. It

had been only 10 days in Gonda when I went for a walk in the

Page 26: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(26)

outskirts of village and suddenly I see Hazrat Peer O Murshid

coming from front wearing our Silsila’s libaas and carrying a

walking stick. I kissed his feet and stood on the side. Hazrat

stated “Jummi, come to Lucknow to me tomorrow morning. I

am staying at Dada Miyan’s astaana’s room number 6 and I

have to leave for daura too. I will send all the stuff with you to

Bombay. Don’t worry about the fare and expenses.” He

disappeared after stating this.

As per his instruction, I left from the village and reached

Dada Miyan’s aastana during Asar time in Lucknow. Hazrat’s

sight was pinned on the gate and upon seeing me arrive stated in

a loving tone “Oh he arrived” and made me sit and eat 5 gulaab

jamuns and carried all the things to the railway station. He

bought a general ticket for me in absence of reservation and

then walked around to see an empty seat. Upon finding an

empty seat, he tapped the seat twice saying this is Jummi’s seat

and Jummi will go to Bombay on this seat. And it happened

exactly as he had said. I reached Bombay without anyone ever

bothering or asking me a question. Upon reaching Bombay, I

handed the package to Peerani Ammi.

Page 27: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(27)

Hazrat saves Mureed from committing Gunah-E-Kabira

As per the mureed (name confidential), this incident dates

back when he was a new mureed. He was away from his

hometown in Bombay. After working long days and getting

paid, he went to a brothel in the red light area of Bombay in

Kamati Pura. After making the payment, he was just about to

engage with a prostitute behind closed doors that his sight fell

on the wall and he sees Hazrat Peer Sahab standing there with

his walking stick in anger. He struck the mureed at once with

the stick. The mureed upon receiving this beating opened the

room door and fled the scene leaving the prostitute behind.

When he presented himself after two weeks at the service,

Hazrat looked at him and stated “Son, you cannot escape from

the sight of your Peer.” He once for all left this dirty sin and

made repentance.

Hazrat appears and saves another Mureed from

Gunah-E-Kabira

One mureed mentioned an incident of his younger days.

He was a truck driver and used to be out of Bombay most of the

time driving. He used to halt at the hotels and dhabas on the

highways for rest and meal.

Page 28: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(28)

One night like other drivers his nafs defaulted him

towards sin and he picked up a prostitute and went to his

vehicle. She presented a glass of alcohol to him. He was about

to pick this glass and he suddenly sees Hazrat coming towards

him in rage holding his walking stick. The mureed upon seeing

Hazrat was shocked and at once flew from the place. He went

inside the dhaba and hid behind the water tank. He was

shivering profusely and at once did repentance from his sin.

Later on Hazrat blessed and trained this mureed who went on to

become a pious devotee.

Hazrat’s Dua Brings Rain

Sufi Muhammad ul Hussain Majidi Aaazmi and Sufi

Mastaan Bhai stated that Sarkar was at daura in Azamgarh. It

was summer and heat waves had engulfed the district. Wells had

parched up and all living beings were harassed by the heat. All

the Peer Bhais who were with Hazrat were also stressed out due

to this heatwave. Hazrat reached from Ishaqpur Village to Sufi

Muhammad Hasnain’s village at Atura. Haji Sahab with other

villagers stood at the door of the house to greet Hazrat and then

everyone requested Hazrat (Khwaja Majid-ul-Hasan) to pray for

rain to the state that the requests started coming from all

Page 29: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(29)

villagers. Hazrat could not bear seeing this state of despair and

harassment on villagers. He raised his hand for dua and

everyone joined with saying “Aaameen”. About 10 minutes had

passed and then suddenly the rains started pouring hard. To hide

his miracle, Hazrat said, “Haji her dua was accepted by Allah

and he has blessed us with rain.” Fields, wells and all living

beings found relief. Hazrat’s dua flowered many’s lives and

brought greenery in others bringing smiles on everyone’s face.

Tailor Abdul Majid Majidi is blessed with a Son

Hazrat was resting at Khanquah Jahangiriya, Antop Hill

under a mango tree on a cot. He suddenly heard a lady crying.

He got up from sleep and saw that tailor Abdul Majid’s wife

was crying profusely. Hazrat asked her “Hey, why are you

crying?” She started crying more and more. Hazrat got up and

asked her to tell him the reason for her misery. She said that she

is not blessed with a baby yet. Everyone taunts her of being

infertile and cannot have a baby. This state has even soured her

relationship with the husband. Her house looks empty and

haunted. Hazrat;s heart melted upon hearing this and at one said

“Go, your house will be blessed with a baby.” And it happened

exactly the same. Her house was blessed with three boys and

three girls. Even today they reside in Sangam Nagar, Antop

Hill. We get Hazrat’s clothes stitched from this peer bhai.

Doctor is blessed with a Baby Girl

Many years had passed from the time the doctor from city

of Kunnuj was married but there was no baby yet. The doctor

came and became mureed when Hazrat went for the daura of

city of Kunnuj. One of the peer bhai informed Hazrat of the

state of this doctor. Hazrat then stated that doctor’s wife should

also become mureed. Doctor went to his wife and informed her

about Hazrat. This wife was influenced by Wahabism and hence

refused to become mureed. One to two years passed by and

Hazrat went for Kunnuj’s daura again. This year doctor

convinced his wife and she became mureed this time. One year

passed and they were blessed with a baby girl. Their belief now

had grown more. They came to Dada Miyan’s urs at Bhaynsuri

Sharif and presented Hazrat with his joda (clothing). They also

distributed langar. This doctor works at a hospital in Saudi

Arabia.

Hazrat saves a Mureeda after she falls from terrace

One mureeda named Razia Sultana from Bombay stated

that she went to Saudi Arabia to work as a maid servant. She

was standing on top of the 5-floor building doing some house

work. One insect came flying and struck her on the face. She

Page 31: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

lost control and calculation of the edge of the terrace. She

fainted with the heat of the asbestos canopy. She slipped and

started falling through the roof. While on air she yelled “Ya

Peer Al Madad” (O Peer, Help me). What I see is that Sarkar

appeared from nowhere in the air. He caught her with both

hands and put her safely on the ground. The Arabs and people

from Indian origin working there came to see what was going

on. Everyone was surprised that I did not even have a scratch

mark on my body.

Plant that Heals for Gallstone Disease

There was a plant at Mehfil-e-Jahangiriya, Antop Hill,

which bore small green leaves. This plant was a clear example

of her healing touch. Mureeds suffering from gallstones used to

get cured by eating the leaves of this plan given by Sarkar’s

who had read dua on it.

Hazrat’s Anecdote and Teaching

The elevation in spiritual status in the path of tasawwuf

is solely due to utmost respectd (adab) and service

(khidmat). Whoever has achieved the highest status is

due to adab and khidmat.

Stay away from getting ahead of a Faqir and avoid

following horse from behind. Meanings do not

transgress and cross limits in front of Auliya Allah, stay

in your limits and maintain utmost adab at all times.

Same as if one follows a horse from behind, there is a

good chance to get kicked and knocked out.

Page 33: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(33)

Stay away and protect yourself from the fitna of words

and private parts.

Beware from people who praise you on your face as it

promotes the audacity of self (nafs).

Be in continuous state of jihad against your Nafs like the

electricity current line running through the wiring pole.

Sufi who continuously struggles against his nafs gains

higher stages in tasawwuf.

Always follow the footsteps of her Peer O Murshid.

Imitiate his sirat, characteristics, mannerisms, and traits.

By following this, you will achieve your goal in this life

and hereafter Inshallah.

Be as a servant (khadim) at the aastana (Peer’s place) or

khanquah; serve in whichever way you could.

Do not ask for loan or debt from your Peer but ask for

his blessing so that your situation might improve.

Do not stay longer at Peer’s aastana without his

permission and do not be a liability to others.

Do not come empty handed at Peer’s Aastana; get

whatever you can depending on your circumstance.

Page 34: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(34)

Give whatever you can in charity and devotion to your

Peer. This is a source of barakah to you.

Eat tasteless food sometimes to abstain and train your

nafs.

A sufi should continuously struggle against his nafs.

Do not disclose your dreams to anyone but just to your

Peer during the day time.

A boat doesn’t float on dry land; you get what you give

at your Peer’s baargah.

Shut your eyes from everything in front of yourpeer.

Your Peer is your tasalsul to Allah and your dedication

to him will make you way easy towards Almighty

Inshallah.

A faqir is just connected to this world just as per his

needs; this duniya is a guest house for him.

My Peer o Murshid once told me “I have given you

Faqiri, now estrange yourself and be indifferent to pain,

relief, sadness and happiness.”

Do not ask for anything from anyone in case of need and

hajat, even if it’s a big need or a small one like a

Page 35: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

matchstick or a cigarette, never ask anyone but just

Allah.

Never ask anyone for help even when you are going

through maximum hardships in life. Hazrat then brought

together his right hand fingers and gave then stated

دستے طلب ہی سو عیبوں کب عیب ہے

جس دست میں یہ عیب نہیں وہ دستے غیب ہے

A asking hand is a flaw out of 100 flaws

The hand free from this flaw is the hand of Auliya allah

Protecting the Elevation in Spiritual Status: Faqiri is like

a bird. He will be informed about it whoever is blessed

by the elevation in his status to make sure he is not

negligent towards this. Remember that it flies away due

to ignorance or lack of respect and doesn’t come back

even after much struggle.

Protecting your Nafs from the Fitna of Women: Once

we were sitting next to Hazrat on the right hand side at

the aastana. Two beautiful ladies came and after

respectful salutation asked permission to sit on the left

hand side. Hazrat asked them to go inside the Hujra and

sit with Peerani Ammi (Hazrat’s blessed Wife and our

Page 36: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(36)

Mother). But they stayed back hence Hazrat asked them

and reinforced again to go inside and then they left.

After they were gone, Hazrat stated that these women

have strayed many men, Faqir, away from the path of

Allah and destroyed their spiritual existence. You people

do not extend your companionship with women and stay

away from them as much as you can.

Peer O Faqir should not be responsible for money or

treasure and should be remotely attached to display of

money, wealth and social prestige.

Three Important Things in the Path of Tasawwuf: Sabr

(patience), Qana’t (gratefulness), and tawakkal (firm

belief on Allah). He who is a firm believer in these three

things finds his spiritual destination.

Hukm (order) has higher status than respect (adab). He

stated “Al Hukm fauqul adab.”

All men should struggle against their nafs as this is the

biggest mehnat mushaqqat, sakhti.

Prayer with the intention of showing off is “Riya’h.”

Prayer in seclusion is the one which makes the Sufi

attain high status.

Page 37: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(37)

I know for certain that which Mureed is doing how

much service in secret and which one is showing off. In

this path of tasawwuf, one who does service with

dedication and natural liking achieves higher status and

Raza of Almighty Allah.

In today’s environment, every mureed is a seeker of this

world; you seldom find someone who seeks the

Almighty.

Develop humility and humbleness inside yourself and

keep repenting on your deeds at all times; Almighty

Allah will keep you safe from all diseases, suffering and

will hold you steadfast on his path Inshallah.

Every muslim should get connected and hold steadfast to

a peer o faqir so that he is guided to the path of

Almighty Allah. One who is not the mureed or

connected to a friend of Allah, his guide is Shaytaan and

Shaytaan only shows way towards Hell.

Always stay in remembrance of Allah and do not at once

forget his remembrance.

When invited to a lunch or dinner at your Peer Bhai’s

house, do not only go with the intention of eating but to

Page 38: Sufi Majid-ul-Hassan Hassani (Biography)

(38)

also make your brother feel happy about the presence

and do pray for barakah.

Weekly attendance for Halqa E Zikr at the Khanquah is

very good for you and more better is attendance at Chatti

and Urs Sharif.

Hazrat’s Dealings with People

Sarkar’s dealings with people and the environment

around was a supreme example and direct teachings of Silsila

Qadriya, Chishtiya, Abululaiya, Jahangiriya, Enayatiya and

Hasaniya. For example, Sarkar was always punctual with time.

Another one was unquestionable devotion to the teachings of

Dada Miya Hazrat Khwaja Hasan Shah R.A.

SAJJADA NASHEEN OF SIRAJ-UL-AULIYA

In his life, Siraj-ul-Aulia Hazrat Khwaja Majid-ul-Hasan

Shah (R.A) had declared his eldest son Hazrat Khwaja Faizul

Hasan Majidi as sajjada nasheen and at present he looks after

various khankahs across the country and their activities such as

daily and weekly Halqat-E-Zikr, monthly events and annual Urs

ceremonies.
