A BRIEF TIMELINENEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A BIG DREAM. IN 1977, THE SUJAN BROTHERS AND MR. J. K. VASDANI STARTED A SMALL MOULDING

SHOP. THEY DIDN’T HAVE MANY RESOURCES OR FINANCES, AND HAD ONLY EACH OTHER TO DEPEND UPON. BUT THEY SAW POTENTIAL IN THE RUBBER

INDUSTRY AND THEY KNEW THAT THE FUTURE OF RUBBER WAS SUJAN.

WITH SHEER HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION, THE SUJANS BUILT THEIR SHOP INTO ONE OF THE MOST RESPECTED RUBBER COMPANIES IN INDIA

TODAY. IT BEGAN WITH A SERIES OF SMALL EXPANSIONS. IN 1982, THEY BECAME AN ANCILLARY UNIT TO MAJOR AUTOMOTIVE COMPANIES. SOON, THEY

HAD THEIR OWN PLANTS FOR DEVELOPING COMPOUNDS, MAKING RUBBER EXTRUSION PRODUCTS, DEVELOPING AND DESIGNING NEW PRODUCTS AND

EVEN ESTABLISHED THEIR OWN TESTING FACILITIES.

THEIR FOUNDING PHILOSOPHY OF HARD WORK, TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND HIGH QUALITY HAS MADE THE SUJAN GROUP ONE OF THE PILLARS OF THE

RUBBER INDUSTRY. AND WITH NEW OPPORTUNITIES AND MARKETS OPENING UP EVERYDAY, THEIR SUCCESS STORY IS JUST BEGINNING.

H.R. SUJAN : We may not have had many facilities, but we had relationships that pushed

us forward.

T.R. SUJAN : This company was built through team effort. We didn’t have sufficient money

for consultants, so I had to go out and study the market and learn everything there was to know.

And one day, everything fell into place.

J. K. VASDANI : Today, to grow we have to think out of the box, think big. And I know that

we are moving in that direction.

simple beginnings, we were suddenly a major player in the rubber industry.

BUSINESS.MINER ENTERPRISES WAS FOUNDED IN 1894 FOR THE PURPOSE OF MANUFACTURING DRAFT GEARS. TODAY, MINER IS A LEADER IN THE DESIGN

AND MANUFACTURE OF A WIDE VARIETY OF RAILCAR COMPONENTS INCLUDING HIGH CAPACITY DRAFT GEARS, TECSPAK® CONSTANT CONTACT SIDE

BEARINGS, HEAVY-DUTY DISCHARGE DEVICES, CUSTOM UNLOADING SYSTEMS, AND BRAKE BEAMS. LOCATED IN GENEVA, IL, THE CURRENT COMPANY IS

These are rubber pads used in high capacity draft gears such as the SL76 and RS361

manufactured to AAR-M901E specifications. These draft gears find usage in rail-

roads across the world that have heavy haul traffic.

Miner - Sujan TecsPaK Constant Contact (TCC) Side Bearings help minimize railcar life

cycle costs by providing exceptional, proven control over the railcar truck instability known

as truck hunting. Manufactured to AAR M948 specifications these products allow railcars

to operate at high speeds with substantially reduced truck and wheel wear.

THE SUJAN GROUP IS WIDELY REGARDED FOR ITS PRODUCTION PROWESS. THE COMPANY HAS VARIOUS PRODUCTION FACILITIES, SPECIALIZING IN

DIFFERENT SUJAN PRODUCTS. THE COMMON DENOMINATOR, HOWEVER, REMAINS A STRICT ADHERENCE TO QUALITY STANDARDS.

Polyrub Extrusions Pvt. Ltd is a TS-16949-2002 and ISO-9001 certified company,

manufacturing automobile hoses and fuel tubes. They are certified OEM Suppliers to

European and Indian vehicle manufacturers. Polyrub’s production capabilities boast

2 state-of-the-art plants, spread over 30,000 sq.ft.

Sujan Industries is an ISO-9001 certified company manufacturing

anti-vibration products for the automotive industry, vibration

dampers for railroad applications, and highly critical components for

the aeronautical industry. They are OEM suppliers to Indian vehicle

manufacturers. Their technologically superior plant is spread over

55000 sq. ft.

Mega Rubber Technologies Pvt. Ltd is a QS-9000 and ISO-9001

certified company, manufacturing automobile and two-wheeler

anti-vibration moulded rubber parts for world wide OEM

applications. They are certified OEM suppliers to European

and Indian vehicle manufacturers and have a technologically

advanced production plant spread over 20000 sq. ft.

COMPONENT DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN

Discovery consists of seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought - Albert von Szent-Gyorgyi

Road conditions are simulated to optimize design for Bump Stops, Top Mounts and

Bushings individually. Meeting specifications for individual parts leads to the desired

ride quality and validation of the Suspension System Design.

Apart from using application knowledge to design the right material properties,

Sujan Group has used new tools such as Computational Fluid Dynamics. Using

this methodology we have been able to offer Fluid System Designs that minimize

pressure drop across travel and maximize thermal or payload transfer.

Finite Element Analysis is used to design gaskets to seal internal pressures upto 30

Bars. Sujan Group in conjunction with Dupont® has offered design solutions which

has helped replace Aluminium Head Covers with Plastic Head Covers leading to a

reduction in weight of vehicles and an increase in energy efficiency.

Using advanced CAD Softwares, complex toolings are designed to minimize lead

time and ensure final product quality and consistency. Softwares such as MoldFlow

are used to ensure minimum fill time, maximum productivity and consistency of

cure in every product.

HAVING MADE A BIG IMPACT IN THE MANUFACTURING AND PRODUCTION OF VITAL RUBBER COMPONENTS, IT WAS TIME FOR SUJAN TO

TAKE THEIR CAPABILITIES TO THE NEXT LEVEL. THE GROUP DECIDED TO APPLY THEIR EXPERIENCE AND INSIGHT TO THE INNOVATION AND

DESIGN OF NEW PRODUCTS. AND THEIR NEW COMPONENT DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN CELL WAS BORN.

Engine and Powertrain Dampers are fine-tuned using state-of-the-art

Resonance equipment to minimize Noise, Vibration and Harshness ensuring

that the final user enjoys a pleasant ride.

Driveshaft Dampers used for Constant Velocity Joints, as well as Dampers used

for engine applications are designed to eliminate any rattle across the RPM range.

Common to all dynamic components, design of the rubber ingredients is the most

critical part of the development process, which has been a forte of Sujan Group.
