This summary of coverage summarizes the coverage available to eligible persons under Group Master Policy #00442993 issued to Cruise Connections Canada Insurance Services Limited. PRODUCT NUMBER: 800222 P3 12/14 In the event of a claim, please refer to the above Product Number. DEFINITIONS (Capitalized terms within this Summary of Coverage are defined herein.) “Accident/accidental” means a sudden, unexpected, unintended, unforeseeable, external event, occurring during an insured Trip, that independently of any other cause, results in Injury (or damage, if the context relates to property loss or damage). “Actual Cash Value” means purchase price less depreciation. “Baggage” means luggage, travel documents, and personal possessions whether owned, borrowed, or rented, taken by the Insured on the Trip. “Business Partner” means a person who: a. is involved with the Insured or the Insured’s Travelling Companion in a legal partnership; and b. is actively involved in the daily management of the business. “Caregiver” means an individual employed for the purpose of providing assistance with activities of daily living to the Insured or to the Insured’s Family Member who has a physical or mental impairment. The Caregiver must be employed by the Insured or the Insured’s Family Member. A Caregiver is not a babysitter; childcare service, facility or provider; or persons employed by any service, provider or facility to supply assisted living. “City” means an incorporated municipality having defined borders and does not include the high seas, uninhabited areas or airspace. “Common Carrier” means an air, land, or sea conveyance operated under a license for the transportation of passengers. “Complications of Pregnancy” means conditions whose diagnoses are distinct from pregnancy but are adversely affected by pregnancy or are caused by pregnancy. These conditions include acute nephritis, nephrosis, cardiac decompensation, missed abortion and similar medical and surgical conditions of comparable severity. “Children”/“Child” means, with respect to Emergency Emergency Evacuation benefits, unmarried children

of the Insured, including natural Children from the moment of birth, and step, foster or adopted children from the moment of placement in the Insured’s Home Province,under age 25. However, the age limit does not apply to aChild who: a. otherwise meets the definition of Children; and b. is incapable of self-sustaining employment by reason of

mental or physical incapacity.

“Financial Default” means the total cessation ofoperations due to insolvency, with or without the filing of abankruptcy petition by a tour operator, cruise line, or airline.“Hospital/Hospitalization” means a facility that: a. is operated according to law for the care and treatment

of sick or Injured people; b. has organized facilities for diagnosis and surgery on its

premises or in facilities available to it on a prearrangedbasis;

c. has 24 hour nursing service by registered nurses(R.N.’s); and

d. is supervised by one (1) or more Physicians available atall times.

A Hospital does not include:a. a nursing, convalescent or geriatric unit of a hospital

when a patient is confined mainly to receive nursingcare;

b. a facility that is, other than incidentally, a clinic, a resthome, nursing home, convalescent home, home healthcare, or home for the aged; nor does it include anyward, room, wing, or

c. other section of the hospital that is used for suchpurposes; or

d. any military or veterans hospital or soldiers home orany hospital contracted for or operated by any nationalgovernment or government agency for the treatment ofmembers or ex-members or the armed forces.

“Inaccessible” means an Insured cannot reach his/herDestination by the original mode of transportation.“Inclement Weather” means any severe weathercondition other than a hurricane which delays thescheduled arrival or departure of a Common Carrier orprevents the Insured from reaching his/her Destinationwhen travelling by an Owned or Rented Vehicle.“Initial Trip Payment” means the first payment made tothe Insured’s Travel Supplier toward the cost of theInsured’s Trip. “Injury/Injured” means a bodily injury caused by anAccident occurring while the Insured’s coverage under theSummary of Coverage is in force, and resulting directly andindependently of all other causes of Loss covered by theSummary of Coverage. The injury must be verified by aPhysician. “Insured” means an Eligible Person for whom: a. any required enrollment form has been completed; b. any required plan cost has been paid; c. while covered under the Summary of Coverage.“Insured’s Home Province” means Your Canadianprovince or territory of residence.“Insurer” means AIG Insurance Company of Canada,145 Wellington Street West, Toronto, Ontario, Canada,M5J 1H8. This Summary of Coverage is administered on

“Confirmation of Insurance” means Your most recentcomputer printout, printed form, electronic copy, invoice,or Summary of Coverage document that sets out the planincluded with Your Trip and any optional add on coverage,if any, You have chosen.“Departure Date” means the date on which the Insured isoriginally scheduled to leave on his/her Trip. This date isspecified in the travel documents. “Destination” means any place where the Insured expectsto travel to on his/her Trip. “Domestic Partner” means an opposite or a same-sexpartner who is at least 18 years of age and has met all ofthe following requirements for at least six (6) months: a. resides with the Insured; b. shares financial assets and obligations with the

Insured;c. the Insurer may require proof of the Domestic Partner

relationship in the form of a signed and completedAffidavit of Domestic Partnership.

“Eligible Person” means a person travelling on a CruiseConnections group departure.“Experimental or Investigative” means treatment, adevice or prescription medication which is recommendedby a Physician, but is not considered by the medicalcommunity as a whole to be safe and effective for thecondition for which the treatment, device or prescriptionmedication is being used. This includes any treatment,procedure, facility, equipment, drugs, drug usage, devices,or supplies not recognized as accepted medical practice,and any of those items requiring federal or othergovernmental agency approval not received at the timeservices are rendered.“Family Member” means the Insured’s or TravellingCompanion’s spouse, Domestic Partner, Child, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, brother, sister, mother, father,grandparents, grandchild, step-child, step-brother, step-sister, step-parents, parents-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, legal guardian,Caregiver, foster child, ward, or legal ward.

AIG Insurance Company of Canada’s, behalf by TravelGuard Group Canada, Inc. (Travel Guard Canada).“Loss” means Injury or damage sustained by the Insuredas a consequence of one (1) or more of the events againstwhich the Insurer has undertaken to compensate theInsured.“Medically Necessary” means that a treatment, service,or supply:a. is essential for diagnosis, treatment, or care of the

Injury or Sickness for which it is prescribed orperformed;

b. meets generally accepted standards of medicalpractice;

c. is ordered by a Physician and performed under his/hercare, supervision, or order; and

d. is not primarily for the convenience of the Insured,Physician, other providers, or any other person.

“Mental, Nervous or Psychological Disorder” means amental or nervous health condition including, but notlimited to: anxiety, depression, neurosis, phobia,psychosis; or any related physical manifestation.“Natural Disaster” means a flood, hurricane, tornado,earthquake, fire, wildfire, volcanic eruption, or blizzard thatis due to natural causes.“Necessary Personal Effects” means items such asclothing and toiletry items, which were included in theInsured’s Baggage and are required for the Insured’s Trip.“Owned or Rented Vehicle” means a self-propelledprivate passenger motor vehicle with four (4) or morewheels which is of a type both designed and required to belicensed for use on the highways of any state or countrythat is rented or owned by the Insured. Owned or RentedVehicle includes, but is not limited to, a sedan, stationwagon, jeep-type vehicle pickup, van, camper or motorhome type. Owned or Rented Vehicle does not include amobile home or any motor vehicle which is used in mass orpublic transit.“Summary of Coverage” means this document, anyriders or endorsements to this document, the application,and the Confirmation of Insurance all of which form theentire contract.“Primary Residence” means a person's fixed, permanentand principal home for legal and tax purposes.“Reasonable Additional Expenses” means expenses formeals and lodging which were necessarily incurred as theresult of a Trip Delay and which are not provided by theCommon Carrier or any other party free of charge.

“Reasonable and Customary Charges” means anexpense which:a. is charged for treatment, supplies, or medical services

Medically Necessary to treat the Insured’s condition;b. does not exceed the usual level of charges for similar

treatment, supplies or medical services in the localitywhere the expense is incurred; and

c. does not include charges that would not have beenmade if no insurance existed. In no event will theReasonable and Customary Charges exceed theactual amount charged.

“Return Date” means the date on which the Insured isscheduled to return to the point where the Trip started or toa different specified Return Destination. This date isspecified in the travel documents. “Return Destination” means the place to which theInsured expects to return from his/her Trip.“Schedule” means the Schedule of Benefits. “Sickness” means an illness or disease diagnosed ortreated by a Physician.“Strike” means a stoppage of work:a. announced, organized, and sanctioned by a labor union;

andb. which interferes with the normal departure and arrival of a

Common Carrier.This includes work slowdowns and sickouts. The Insured’sTrip Cancellation coverage must be effective prior to whenthe strike is foreseeable. A strike is foreseeable on the datelabor union members vote to approve a strike.“Terrorist Incident” means an act of violence, other thancivil disorder or riot (that is not an act of war, declared orundeclared) that results in Loss of life or major damage toproperty, by any person acting on behalf of or in connectionwith any organization which is generally recognized ashaving the intent to overthrow or influence the control ofany government.“Transportation” means any land, sea or air conveyancerequired to transport the Insured during an EmergencyEvacuation. Transportation includes, but is not limited to,air ambulances, land ambulances and private motorvehicles.“Travel Supplier” means the tour operator, rentalcompany, cruise line, and/or airline that provides pre-paidtravel arrangements for the Insured’s Trip.“Travelling Companion” means a person or persons withwhom the Insured has coordinated travel arrangementsand intends to travel with during the Trip. A group or tourleader is not considered a travelling companion, unless theInsured is sharing room accommodations with the group ortour leader. “Trip” means Your travel outside Your home province forwhich coverage under this Summary of Coverage hasbeen purchased and is in effect. The purpose of the trip is

business or pleasure and is not to obtain health care ortreatment of any kind; the trip has defined Departure andReturn dates specified when the Insured applies; the tripdoes not exceed 30 days; travel is primarily by CommonCarrier and only incidentally by private conveyance.“Trip Cost” means the dollar amount of Trip payments ordeposits reflected on any required enrollment form whichare subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions paid bythe Insured prior to the Insured’s Trip Departure Date. Tripcost will also include the cost of any subsequent pre-paidpayments or deposits paid by the Insured for the sameTrip, after enrollment for coverage under this plan providedthe Insured amends their enrollment form to add suchsubsequent payments or deposits and pays any requiredadditional plan cost prior to the Insured’s Departure Date.“Unforeseen” means not anticipated or expected andoccurring after the effective date of the coverage. “Uninhabitable” meansa. the building structure itself is unstable and there is a

risk of collapse in whole or in part;b. there is exterior or structural damage allowing

elemental intrusion, such as rain, wind, hail or flood;c. immediate safety hazards have yet to be cleared, such

as debris on roofs or downed electrical lines; or therental property is without electricity or water.

“We, Us, Our” means AIG Insurance Company ofCanada, 145 Wellington Street West, Toronto, On, M5J1H8. This Summary of Coverage is administered on AIGInsurance Company of Canada’s behalf by Travel GuardGroup Canada, Inc. (Travel Guard Canada).“You, Yourself, Your” The person named as the ‘primarytraveller’ and/or one (1) or more other person(s), if any,named as ’other travellers’ on the Confirmation ofInsurance, each as the context requires.

EFFECTIVE & TERMINATION DATESEffective Date: Trip Cancellation coverage will be effectivefor an Insured at 12:01 a.m. Standard Time on the datefollowing receipt by the Insurer or the Insurer’s authorizedrepresentative of any required plan cost.All other coverages will begin on the later of: a. 12:01 a.m. Standard Time on the scheduled Departure

Date shown on the travel documents; or b. the date and time the Insured starts his/her Trip.Termination Date: All coverage, other than TripCancellation, ends on the earlier of: a. the date the Trip is completed; b. the scheduled Return Date; c. the Insured’s arrival at the Return Destination on a round

Trip, or the Destination on a one-way Trip. The Trip Cancellation coverage ends on the earliest of: a. the cancellation of the Insured’s Trip; or b. the date and time the Insured starts on his/her Trip.

Extension of Coverage: All coverage (except Trip Cancellation) will be extended, ifthe Insured's return is delayed by one (1) of the Unforeseenreasons specified under Trip Cancellation and Interruption orTrip Delay.This extension of coverage will end on the earlier of: a. the date the Insured reaches his/her Return Destination;

or b. seven (7) days after the date the Trip was scheduled to

be completed. Baggage Continuation of Coverage: If an Insured’sBaggage, passports, and visas are in the charge of acharter or Common Carrier and delivery is delayed,coverage for Baggage and Personal Effects and traveldocuments will be extended until the Common Carrierdelivers the property to the Insured. This extension doesnot include Loss caused by the delay.

GENERAL EXCLUSIONSThis plan does not cover any loss caused by or resultingfrom:1. intentionally self-inflicted Injury, suicide, or attempted

suicide of the Insured, Family Member, TravellingCompanion or Business Partner while sane or insane;

2. pregnancy, childbirth, or elective abortion, other thanComplications of Pregnancy;

3. participation in professional athletic events, motorsport, or motor racing, including training or practice forthe same;

4. mountaineering where ropes or guides are normallyused. The ascent or descent of a mountain requiringthe use of specialized equipment, including but notlimited to pick-axes, anchors, bolts, crampons,carabineers, and lead or top-rope anchoringequipment;

5. war or act of war, whether declared or not, civil disorder,riot, or insurrection;

6. operating or learning to operate any aircraft, as student,pilot, or crew;

7. air travel on any air-supported device, other than aregularly scheduled airline or air charter company;

8. loss or damage caused by detention, confiscation, ordestruction by customs;

9. any unlawful acts, committed by the Insured, a FamilyMember, or a Travelling Companion, or BusinessPartner whether insured or not;

10.Mental, Nervous or Psychological Disorder;11. if the Insured’s tickets do not contain specific travel

dates (open tickets);12.use of drugs, narcotics, or alcohol, unless administered

upon the advice of a Physician;13.any failure of a provider of travel related services

(including any Travel Supplier) to provide thebargained-for travel services or to refund money duethe Insured;

14.Experimental or Investigative treatment or procedures;15.any loss that occurs at a time when this coverage is not

in effect;16. travelling for the purpose of securing medical

treatment;17. care or treatment which is not Medically Necessary;18.any Trip taken outside the advice of a Physician;19.expenses incurred retailing to travel in, to, or through

Cuba, because such travel is not serviced andsupported by the Insurer’s United States affiliates.

The following exclusions apply to Baggage/PersonalEffects Loss:Benefits will not be provided for any loss or damage to orresulting (in whole or in part) from:1. animals, rodents, insects or vermin; 2. motor vehicles, aircraft, boats, boat motors, ATV’s and

other conveyances;3. artificial prosthetic devices, false teeth, any type of

eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, or hearingaids;

4. tickets, keys, notes, securities, accounts, bills,currency, deeds, food stamps or other evidences ofdebt, and other travel documents (except passportsand visas);

5. money, stamps, stocks and bonds, postal or moneyorders;

6. property shipped as freight, or shipped prior to theDeparture Date;

7. contraband, illegal transportation or trade; 8. items seized by any government, government official or9. customs official; 10.defective materials or craftsmanship;11. normal wear and tear;12.deterioration.

The following exclusions apply to Trip Cancellation andTrip Interruption:Benefits will not be provided for any loss resulting (in wholeor in part) from:1. travel arrangements cancelled by an airline, cruise line, or

tour operator, except as provided elsewhere in the plan;2. changes by the Insured, a Family Member, or Travelling

Companion, for any reason; 3. financial circumstances of the Insured, a Family Member,

or a Travelling Companion;4. any government regulation or prohibition;5. any business or contractual obligations of the Insured, a

Family Member, or Travelling Companion, for any reason; 6. an event which occurs prior to the Insured’s coverage

effective date;7. failure of any tour operator, Common Carrier, person or

agency to provide the bargained-for travel arrangements.

The following exclusion applies to Accidental Death andDismemberment:1. the Insurer will not pay for loss caused by or resulting

from Sickness or disease of any kind.

TRIP CANCELLATION & INTERRUPTION The Insurer will pay benefits, up to the Maximum Limitshown on the Schedule, if an Insured cancels his/her Tripor is unable to continue on his/her Trip due to the followingUnforeseen events:1. Sickness, Injury or death of an Insured, Family

Member, Travelling Companion or Business Partner. a. Injury or Sickness of an Insured, TravellingCompanion or Family Member travelling with theInsured must be so disabling as to reasonably causea Trip to be cancelled or interrupted, or which resultsin medically imposed restrictions as certified by aPhysician at the time of Loss preventing Yourcontinued participation in the Trip;b. If the Insured must cancel or interrupt his/her Tripdue to Injury or Sickness of a Family Member nottravelling with the Insured;c. Injury or Sickness of the Business Partner must beso disabling as to reasonably cause the Insured tocancel or interrupt the Trip to assume dailymanagement of the business. Such disability must becertified by a Physician;

2. Inclement Weather causing delay or cancellation oftravel;

3. the Insured’s Primary Residence or Destination beingmade Uninhabitable by Natural Disaster, vandalism, orburglary;

4. the Insured, or a Travelling Companion beingsubpoenaed, required to serve on a jury, hijacked, orquarantined;

5. the Insured and/or Travelling Companion is directlyinvolved in or delayed due to an automobile Accident,while en route to the Insured’s Destination;

6. a Terrorist Incident in a City listed on the Insured’sitinerary within 30 days of the Insured’s scheduledarrival;

7. Strike resulting in complete cessation of travel servicesat the point of departure or Destination;

8. the Insured or Travelling Companion is involuntarilyterminated or laid off through no fault of his/herprovided that he/she has been an active employee forthe same employer for at least one (1) year.Termination must occur following the effective date of

Special Limitations: The Insurer will not pay more than:• $500 for the first item and;• thereafter, no more than $250 per each additional item; • $500 aggregate on all Losses to: jewelry, watches, furs,

cameras and camera equipment, camcorders,computers, and other electronic devices, including but notlimited to: portable personal computers, cellular phones,electronic organizers and portable CD players.

Items over $150 must be accompanied by original receipts.

The Insurer will pay the lesser of:a. the cash value (original cash value less depreciation) as

determined by the Insurer or;b. the cost of replacement. The Insurer may take all or part of the damaged Baggageat the appraised or agreed value. In the event of a Loss toa pair or set of items, the Insurer may at its option: a. repair or replace any part to restore the pair or set to its

value before the Loss; or b. pay the difference between the value of the property

before and after the Loss.

The Insurer will only pay for loss due to unauthorized useof the Insured’s credit cards if the Insured has compliedwith all requirements imposed by the issuing credit cardcompanies.

BAGGAGE DELAYIf the Insured’s Baggage is delayed or misdirected by theCommon Carrier for more than 12 hours while on a Trip,the Insurer will reimburse the Insured up to the MaximumLimit shown on the Schedule for the purchase ofNecessary Personal Effects. Incurred expenses must beaccompanied by receipts. This benefit does not apply ifBaggage is delayed after the Insured has reached his/herReturn Destination.

coverage. This provision is not applicable to temporaryemployment, independent contractors or self-employedpersons;

9. Insured or Travelling Companion is called to activemilitary service or military leave is revoked;

10.Financial Default of an airline, cruise line, or touroperator provided the Financial Default occurs morethan 14 days following an Insured's effective date forthe Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption Benefits. Thereis no coverage for the Financial Default of any person,organization, agency, or firm from whom the Insuredpurchased travel arrangements supplied by others;

11. Insured or a Travelling Companion being the victim ofa felonious assault within 10 days prior to theDeparture Date. No coverage is provided for feloniousassault committed by another Insured, Family Member,Travelling Companion or Travelling Companion’sFamily Member.

SPECIAL NOTIFICATION OF CLAIM The Insured must notify Us as soon as reasonably possiblein the event of a Trip Cancellation or Interruption claim. Ifthe Insured is unable to provide cancellation notice withinthe required timeframe, the Insured must provide proof ofthe circumstance that prevented timely notification. Trip Cancellation Benefits: The Insurer will reimburse theInsured for forfeited Trip Cost up to the Maximum Limitshown on the Schedule for Trips that are canceled prior tothe scheduled departure for their Trip due to theUnforeseen events shown above. Trip Interruption Benefits: The Insurer will reimburse theInsured up to the Maximum Limit shown on the Schedulefor Trips that are interrupted due to the Unforeseen eventsshown above:a. forfeited, insured Trip Cost, andb. additional transportation expenses incurred by the

Insured, either:(i) to the Return Destination; or(ii) from the place that the Insured left the Trip to the

place that the Insured may rejoin the Trip; orc. additional transportation expenses incurred by the

Insured to reach the original Trip Destination if theInsured is delayed, and leaves after the DepartureDate. However, the benefit payable under (b) and (c)above will not exceed the cost of economy airfare or thesame class as the Insured’s original ticket less anyrefunds paid or payable by the most direct route.

SINGLE OCCUPANCYThe Insurer will reimburse the Insured, up to the TripCancellation and Interruption Maximum Limit shown on theSchedule, for the additional cost incurred during the Trip asa result of a change in the per person occupancy rate for

prepaid, non-refundable travel arrangements if a personbooked to share accommodations with the Insured hashis/her Trip interrupted due to the Unforeseen eventsshown in the Trip Interruption section and the Insured doesnot cancel.

MISSED CONNECTIONIf while on a Trip the Insured misses a Trip departureresulting from cancellation or delay of three (3) or morehours of all regularly scheduled airline flights due toInclement Weather or Common Carrier caused delay; Wewill reimburse the Insured up to the Maximum Limit shownin the Schedule for:1. additional transportation expenses incurred by the

Insured to join the departed Trip;2. pre-paid, non-refundable trip payments for the unused

portion of the Trip.The Common Carrier must certify the delay of theregularly scheduled airline flight.Coverage is secondary if reimbursable by any othersource.

TRIP DELAYThe Insurer will reimburse the Insured up to the MaximumLimit(s) shown on the Schedule for Reasonable AdditionalExpenses until travel becomes possible if the Insured’s Tripis delayed five (5) or more consecutive hours fromreaching their intended Destination as a result of acancellation or delay of a regularly scheduled airline flightfor one (1) of the Unforeseen events listed below:a. reasons listed under Trip Cancellation and Interruption;b. Common Carrier delay;c. the Insured’s or Travelling Companion’s lost or stolen

passports, travel documents, or money;d. Natural Disaster.

Incurred expenses must be accompanied by receipts. Thisbenefit is payable for only one (1) delay per Insured, perTrip. If the Insured incurs more than one (1) delay in thesame Trip the Insurer will pay for the delay with the largestbenefit up to the Maximum Limits shown on the Schedule. The Insured Must: Contact Us as soon as he/she knowshis/her Trip is going to be delayed more than five (5) hours.

BAGGAGE & PERSONAL EFFECTS LOSSThe Insurer will reimburse the Insured, up to the MaximumLimit shown in the Schedule subject to the speciallimitations shown below, for loss, theft or damage to theInsured’s Baggage, personal effects, passports, traveldocuments, credit cards and visas during the Insured’sTrip.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION& REPATRIATION OF REMAINS

The Insurer will pay for Covered Emergency EvacuationExpenses incurred if an Insured suffers an Injury orSickness while he/she is on a Trip that warrants his/herEmergency Evacuation. Benefits payable are subject tothe Maximum Limit shown on the Schedule for allEmergency Evacuations due to all Injuries from the sameAccident or all Sicknesses from the same or relatedcauses. Covered Emergency Evacuation Expenses are theReasonable and Customary Charges for necessaryTransportation, related medical services and medicalsupplies incurred in connection with the EmergencyEvacuation of the Insured. All Transportation arrangementsmade for evacuating the Insured must be by the mostdirect and economical route possible.Expenses for Transportation must be: a. ordered by the attending Physician who must certify

that the severity of the Insured’s Injury or Sicknesswarrants his/her Emergency Evacuation and adequatemedical treatment is not locally available;

b. required by the standard regulations of the conveyancetransporting the Insured; and

c. authorized in advance by Us. In the event the Insured’s Injury or Sickness prevents priorauthorization of the Emergency Evacuation, We must benotified as soon as reasonably possible. ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT If, while on a Trip, Injury to an Insured results within 180days of the date of the Accident which caused Injury, in one(1) of the losses shown in the Table of Losses below, otherthan while riding as a passenger in or boarding or alightingfrom or struck or run down by a certified passenger aircraftprovided by a regularly scheduled airline or charter andoperated by a properly certified pilot, the Insurer will paythe percentage shown below of the Maximum Limit shownin the Schedule. The Accident must occur while theInsured is on the Trip and is covered under the Summaryof Coverage. If more than one (1) Loss is sustained by an Insured as aresult of the same Accident, only one (1) amount, thelargest applicable to the Losses incurred, will be paid. TheInsurer will not pay more than 100% of the Maximum Limitfor all Losses due to the same Accident.Table of Losses

EXPOSUREThe Insurer will pay a benefit for covered losses asspecified above which result from an Insured beingunavoidably exposed to the elements due to an AccidentalInjury during the Trip. The Loss must occur within 180days after the event which caused the exposure.

DISAPPEARANCEThe Insurer will pay a benefit for loss of life as specifiedabove if the Insured’s body cannot be located one (1) yearafter disappearance due to an Accidental Injury during theTrip.

PAYMENT OF CLAIMS Claim Procedures: Notice of Claim: The Insured mustcall Us as soon as reasonably possible, and be preparedto describe the Loss, the name of the company thatarranged the Trip (i.e., tour operator, cruise line, or charteroperator), the Trip dates, and the amount that the Insuredpaid. We will fill in the claim form and forward it to the

The Insurer will also pay a benefit for Reasonable andCustomary Charges incurred for an escort’s transportationand accommodations if an attending Physicianrecommends in writing that an escort accompany theInsured.Emergency Evacuation means: a. the Insured's medical condition warrants immediate

c. both (a) and (b) above.

LIMITATIONSa. benefits are only available under Emergency Evacuation

if they are not provided under another coverage in theplan;

b. the Maximum Limit payable for both EmergencyEvacuation and Repatriation of Remains is shown in theSchedule.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITIn addition to the above covered expenses, if the Insurerhas previously evacuated an Insured to a medical facility,the Insurer will pay his/her airfare costs from that facility tothe Insured’s Return Destination, less refunds from theInsured’s unused transportation tickets. Airfare costs willbe economy, or same class as the Insured’s originaltickets. REPATRIATION OF REMAINSThe Insurer will pay Repatriation Covered Expenses up tothe Maximum Limit shown on the Schedule to return theInsured's body to city of burial if he/she dies during the Trip. Repatriation Covered Expenses include, but are limitedto, the reasonable and customary expenses fortransportation, according to airline tariffs, of the remains bythe most direct and economical conveyance and routepossible. We must make all arrangements and authorize allexpenses in advance for this benefit to be payable. Special Limitation: In the event the Insurer or the Insurer’sauthorized representative could not be contacted to arrangefor Repatriation Covered Expenses, benefits are limited tothe amount the Insurer would have paid had the Insurer ortheir authorized representation been contacted.

days from the date of loss. Failure to comply with theseconditions shall not invalidate any claims under theSummary of Coverage.Settlement of Loss. Claims for damage and/ordestruction shall be paid immediately after proof of thedamage and/or destruction is presented to the Insurer.

Claims for lost property will be paid after the lapse of areasonable time if the property has not been recovered.The Insured must present acceptable proof of loss and thevalue.Valuation. The Insurer will not pay more than the ActualCash Value of the property at the time of Loss. At no timewill payment exceed what it would cost to repair or replacethe property with material of like kind and quality. Disagreement Over Size of Loss. If there is adisagreement about the amount of the Loss either theInsured or the Insurer can make a written demand for anappraisal. After the demand, the Insured and the Insurereach select their own competent appraiser. Afterexamining the facts, each of the two (2) appraisers will givean opinion on the amount of the Loss. If they do not agree,they will select an arbitrator. Any figure agreed to by two ofthe three (3) (the appraisers and the arbitrator) will bebinding. The appraiser selected by the Insured is paid bythe Insured. The Insurer will pay the appraiser it chooses.The Insured will share with us the cost for the arbitrator andthe appraisal process.Benefit to Bailee. This insurance will in no way inuredirectly or indirectly to the benefit of any carrier or otherbailee.The following provision applies to Baggage/Personal Effects Loss, Emergency Evacuation, and Repatriation of Remains:Subrogation. To the extent the Insurer pays for a Losssuffered by an Insured, the Insurer will take over the rightsand remedies the Insured had relating to the Loss. This isknown as subrogation. The Insured must help the Insurerpreserve its rights against those responsible for its Loss.This may involve signing any papers and taking any othersteps the Insurer may reasonably require. If the Insurertakes over an Insured's rights, the Insured must sign anappropriate subrogation form supplied by the Insurer. As acondition to receiving the applicable benefits listed above,as they pertain to this Subrogation provision, the Insuredagrees, except as may be limited or prohibited byapplicable law, to reimburse the Insurer for any suchbenefits paid to or on behalf of the Insured, if such benefitsare recovered, in any form, from any Third Party orCoverage.We do not subrogate against any retiree plan benefit if thelifetime maximum limits for all in-country and out-of-countrybenefits is $50,000 or less.

Insured for his/her review and signature. The completedform should be returned to Travel Guard Canada Attention:Claims, 145 Wellington Street West, Toronto, Ontario,Canada, M5J 1 H8, telephone 1.866.648.8425.Claim Procedures: Proof of Loss: The claim forms mustbe sent back to Insurer no more than 90 days after acovered Loss occurs or ends, or as soon after that as isreasonably possible. All claims under the Summary ofCoverage must be submitted to Us no later than one (1)year after the date of Loss or insured occurrence or assoon as reasonably possible. If Insurer has not providedclaim forms within 15 days after the notice of claim, otherproofs of Loss should be sent to Us by the date claim formswould be due. The proof of Loss should include writtenproof of the occurrence, type and amount of Loss, theInsured’s name, the participating organization name, andthe product number. Payment of Claims: When Paid: Claims will be paid assoon as We receive complete proof of Loss.Payment of Claims: To Whom Paid: Benefits arepayable to the Insured covered under this plan as stated inthe Confirmation of Insurance. Any benefits payable dueto that Insured’s death will be paid to the survivors of thefirst surviving class of those that follow:1. the Beneficiary named by that Insured and on file with Us,2. to his/her spouse, if living. If no living spouse, then3. to the Insured’s estate.If a benefit is payable to a minor or other person who isincapable of giving a valid release, the Insurer may pay upto $3,000 to a relative by blood or connection by marriagewho has assumed care or custody of the minor orresponsibility for the incompetent person’s affairs. Anypayment Insurer makes in good faith fully dischargesInsurer to the extent of that payment.Benefits for Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains services may be payable directly to the provider of the services. However, the provider:

a. must comply with the statutory provision for directpayment, and

b. must not have been paid from any other sources.Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption Payment ofLoss: The Insured must provide Us with documentation ofthe cancellation or interruption and proof of the expensesincurred. The Insured must provide proof of payment forthe Trip such as cancelled check or credit card statements,proof of refunds received, copies of applicable touroperator or Common Carrier cancellation policies, and anyother information reasonably required to prove the Loss.Claims involving Loss due to Sickness, Injury, or deathrequire signed patient (or next of kin) authorization to

release medical information and an attending Physician’sstatement. The Insured must provide Us with all unusedair, rail, cruise, or other tickets if he/she is claiming thevalue of those unused tickets. Baggage and Personal Effects Loss Payment of Loss:The Insured must:a. report theft Losses to police or other local authorities as

soon as possible;b. take reasonable steps to protect his/her Baggage from

further damage and make necessary and reasonabletemporary repairs; (The Insurer will reimburse theInsured for those expenses. The Insurer will not pay forfurther damage if the Insured fails to protect his/herBaggage);

c. allow the Insurer to examine the damaged Baggageand/or the Insurer may require the damaged item to besent in the event of payment;

d. send sworn proof of Loss as soon as possible from dateof Loss, providing amount of Loss, date, time, andcause of Loss, and a complete list of damaged/lostitems; or

e. in the event of theft or unauthorized use of the Insured’scredit cards, the Insured must notify the credit cardcompany immediately to prevent further unlawfulactivity.

Baggage Delay Payment of Loss: The Insured mustprovide documentation of the delay or misdirection ofBaggage by the Common Carrier and receipts for theNecessary Personal Effects purchases.

The following provisions apply to Baggage Delay andBaggage/Personal Effects Loss:Notice of Loss. If the Insured's property covered underthe Summary of Coverage is lost or damaged, the Insuredmust: a. notify Us as soon as possible;b. take immediate steps to protect, save and/or recover

the covered property;c. give immediate notice to the carrier or bailee who is or

may be liable for the loss or damage;d. notify the police or other authority in the case of robbery

or theft within 24 hours. Proof of Loss. The Insured must furnish the Insurer withproof of Loss. Proof of Loss includes police or other localauthority reports or documentation from the appropriateparty responsible for the Loss. It must be filed within 90

GENERAL PROVISIONSPhysical Examination and Autopsy. The Insurer at itsown expense has the right and opportunity to examine theperson of any individual whose loss is the basis of claimunder the Summary of Coverage when and as often as itmay reasonably require during the pendency of the claimand to make an autopsy in case of death where it is notforbidden by law.Beneficiary Designation and Change. The Insured’sbeneficiary(ies) is (are) the person(s) designated by theInsured and on file with Us.An Insured over the age of majority and legally competentmay change his/her beneficiary designation at any time,unless an irrevocable designation has been made, withoutthe consent of the designated beneficiary(ies), by providingUs with a written request for change. When the request isreceived, whether the Insured is then living or not, thechange of beneficiary will relate back to and take effect asof the date of execution of the written request, but withoutprejudice to the Insurer on account of any payment madeby it prior to receipt of the request.Assignment. An Insured may not assign any of his/herrights, privileges or benefits under the Summary ofCoverage. Legal Actions. No action at law or in equity may bebrought to recover on the Summary of Coverage prior tothe expiration of 60 days after written proof of Loss hasbeen furnished in accordance with the requirements of theSummary of Coverage. No such action may be broughtafter the expiration of three (3) years after the time writtenproof of Loss is required to be furnished.Concealment or Fraud. The Insurer does not providecoverage if the Insured has intentionally concealed ormisrepresented any material fact or circumstance relatingto the Summary of Coverage or claim. Termination of the Summary of Coverage. Terminationof the Summary of Coverage will not affect a claim for Losswhich occurs while the Summary of Coverage is in force. Transfer of Coverage. Coverage under the Summary ofCoverage cannot be transferred by the Insured to anyoneelse.
