God. But Aaron and his descendants were the ones who presented offerings on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense in

connection with all that was done in the Most Holy Place, making atonement for Israel, in

accordance with all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.”

Lev 16:32-34 “So the priest who is anointed and ordained to serve as priest in his father’s place shall

make atonement: … He shall also make atonement for the priests and for all the

people of the assembly. Now you shall have this as a permanent statute, to make

atonement for the sons of Israel for all their sins once every year.”
