    Thank Youfor Saving My Life

y name is Reynaldo. During my entire 30 years on drugs I kept searching forthat first high Id once experienced. But instead of finding that high I sank

lower and lower. In the process, I lost everything: my family, my home and my friendThen one day, a pastor told me about the Bay Area Rescue Mission. When I

arrived here I saw a sign on the door that read: Welcome to the Bay Area RescueMission. If you dont have a friend in the world, you can find one here.

    The sign says it all

Well, I walked through those doors and the message on the sign was true:I did find a friendmany friendspeople who welcomed me and

continue to help me find my way home. Before, I never read the Bible, b

today Gods Word is an important pof my life. In the past, prayer meantnothing to me. Now I know its the

only way I can stayconnected to my heaveFather.

Someone asked mrecently if I ever got sa

anymore. I said I nlonger know

    the meaningof sad.Before, Icouldntsmile. But

    now Godgiven meback bot

my smile and my good disposition. In fact, I now smile so much that I think at times irritates people. Im also a graduate of the Mens Recovery program and amemployed at the Mission in a data entry position.

Thank you for all youve done for me. Youvegiven me clothes, food and shelter. But moreimportant than all that, youve given me back mylife. Without you and your compassion, I wouldnteven be alive. Thank you.

    ummerin Jesus Name

y name is Marcella. In my former life, I was an addict living in a rundownshack by the railroad tracks. All I did was put vodka, beer and other drugs

into my system. I knew it was the wrong thing to do, but my addiction was moreimportant than doing the right thingsthings like taking care of my children.

One day, I just got tiredof my lousy life, and I came

through the doors of theBay Area Rescue Mission. At first it was rough. I hada hard time obeying the

Missions rules. But I stuckwith itand God stuck

with me. I can hardlybelieve I am whereI am today. Ive

graduated from theMissions recoveryprogram and Imworking and livingon my own becausecaring people nevergave up on me.

Milknot boozeAs for the future, Im going to be okay. I know

Ill never go back to my old way of living. God is

making me strong. How else could I go to the storeand buy milk for my kids and not even look at thebooze? For me, thats a victory.

Today Im clean and sober because you care about people like mesomeone you dont even know. Look at my face. Im happy nowand drug free. The Lord is using you to give me back my life. Thank you very much.
