Dear Parents:
Once again we are offering summer religious education classes
here at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Attached you willfind the
Religious Education Registration Packet for the Summer Session
2009. Our summer sessions will be held inthe month of June and will
run for 5 days between the hours of 8:40 am to 3:00 pm. The fee is
$100.00 per child or$180 per family. .
Summer Session Information (Classes will be fil led on a first
come first serve basis)
June 1st to June 5th - Monday through Friday from 8:40 am to
3:00 pm
TEACHING IS A GIFT GIVEN. AND A GIFT RECEIVED
***Catechists Needed (Please consider volunteering)***Any person
interested in volunteering to teach Religious Education this
summer, must fill out a Catechist VolunteerForm and submit it to
the Director of Religious Education no later than March 1, 2009
(Summer Teachers)
Each catechist volunteer will be required to attend a Teacher
Formation Meeting with his or her co-teacher and the
DRE. Meetings will be scheduled in 2-hour increments during the
week of May 11th through May 15th. Day andevening appointments are
available.
Teaching positions are filled on a first come, first serve
basis. If I do not have forms in hand as a sign of yourcommitment
to the program by March 1, 2009 then I will be unable to consider
you for a volunteer position in the
Religious Education Program this summer. Summer teachers will be
required to pay only half of the registration fee.
We prayerfully ask that you consider becoming involved in the
faith formation of the children of our parish bybecoming a
volunteer for the Religious Education Department. Catechists will
be needed for all grade levels.
Dont forget that we have two youth groups that will be meeting
for Faith Food and Fun Fridays this summer. Detailson the program
will be posted in the Bulletin.
Youth Groups
CHAMPS This group is for 4th and 5th grade studentsEDGE This
group is for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.
Both of these groups act as a social and service outlet for our
youth. Children who participate in the summer programare encouraged
to participate in the youth group appropriate for their age.
Children are welcome to attend wheneverthey wish. Please watch for
meeting and activity details in the Church Bulletin.
