The Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania held its 24th Annual Recycled Art Show this past April. This year’s theme was “Green is the New Black”, and featured recycled art from many local artists.
The art show featured many amazing exhibits, all of which were made from recycledmaterials. Some materials used to create the pieces below include: soda bottles and tabs, car seat springs, air conditioner coils, shredded credit cards and vintage clothing patterns.
The pieces below were displayed at our Interpretive Center for a month following the show. A big thank you to Anni Matsick for her help in transporting the pieces to and from.
This year’s show was sponsored by Joe Krentzman & Son, Inc. and there were countless volun-teers who helped make the show a success.
We are excited to see what next year’s show brings!

Honoring 58 Local Green Businesses, Schools and OrganizationsThis April, the Centre County Recycling & Refuse Authority held an awards luncheon to honor 58 of our area’s best green businesses, schools and organizations.
Over 100 area business owners, teachers, school administrators and employees were present at the awards luncheon in coordination with Earth Day to receive recognition for their efforts both in recycling and sustainability.
The Authority’s Recycling Coordinator, Joanne Shafer addressed the crowd and there was a photoshoot opportunity as well.
A list of all 2018 Green Business Partners is shown below and each has been spotlighted on CCRRA’s Facebook & Twitter pages over the past few months.
We will hold the next Green Business Partnership Awards Luncheon in the spring of 2020. Look for infor-mation next year on how you can apply!
