Jamie heard about Sweet Sleep through her church and wanted to use her gifts in administration to serve. Sweet Sleep’s founder approached her, stating the need for a trea-surer. Because Jamie has a heart for vulnerable children, she had already adopted one of her children from Nepal. So, serving Sweet Sleep seemed like the ultimate fit.

Jamie went to Uganda with Sweet Sleep and felt the trip solidified her love for the ministry. She is excited about the economic development programs and encouraged to see in the faces of Ugandans how Sweet Sleep is changing their lives.

Do you have a skill God can use at Sweet Sleep? We look year-round for potential board members. Consider first serving on our advisory committee (no matter where you live) and see if Sweet Sleep's mission is the fit for you.

Kurt Koehn became involved with Sweet Sleep through his church and enjoyed giv-ing. His respect for the mission and his love for the impact on the children, moved him further in involvement. When his daughter, Savannah, became an intern and signed up for a trip to Uganda, his wife wouldn't hear of her going without him!

As you can imagine, Kurt initially went on the trip to protect his daughter, not know-ing how much of an impact that the trip would have on him. As an advisory com-mittee member now, he loves helping chil-dren feel loved and comforted and is ex-cited to continue to go on trips to deliver beds.

WHY DID THE CO-OP CROSS THE ROAD? To get to their chickens, of course! Harriet, as a Poultry Group beneficiary, is among the many women who are proud of their work and speaks highly of how greatly she has been impacted by your gifts of support. During one of the field visits conducted by Sweet Sleep staff, Harriet testified that her life together with that of her children has never been the same since the co-op oppor-tunity came into her life. Through group savings and individual financial support from donors like you, Harriet was able to start a small business in charcoal selling and can now afford to attain proceeds worth 15,000 Uganda shillings on a good day and this helps her to provide two meals for her 8 children.

“I can’t also fail to mention that through ourweekly group meetings, hope has been restoredin my heart because I can now find time to sharethe Word of God with my fellow group membersand also share about life experiences and we endup encouraging one another. Am indeed verygrateful to God for leading Sweet Sleep to mylife. Am now managing a small business of myown at the same time as being attached to a Poul-try Group Project”.

GA CAMP MAKES OVER 150 BOOKMARKS FOR UGANDAN BIBLES!Girls Auxiliary is an organization for girls who love Christ and want to serve Him and be a part of His great missionary movement around the world.

In early June one of our staff shared time with the girls (ages 10-16) about how Sweet Sleep pro-vides beds and safety around the world. The girls laid down on the ground to see what it felt like to sleep without a bed; they watched a video from Uganda about how joyful children are to receive their first bed. And then the girls created hand-made bookmarkers to go into each Bible that will be delivered this summer. We stood in a circle and prayed over the bookmarkers and the children who would receive them.
