Welcome to the 2013 Summer Camp season! City of Miami Parks looks forward to hosting your children during the summer season where we will be playing games, dunking basketballs, cooling off at Grapeland Water Park and discovering talents at the end of summer talent show.

Please take a minute to review the important details regarding out general summer camps. To the side you will see additional information about the specialty camps offered.

Please be advised Summer Camp hours are from 8am thru 5pm.

REGISTRATION PROCESSOur summer camps have limited space. Call your local park for availability.

Registration will begin April 1, 2013 at 3pm. Camp has ongoing enrollment meaning the park manager will enroll campers until capacity is met and then a waiting list will be created.

In order to register parents must bring the first week of payment ($60 for City of Miami Residents and $70 for non-City of Miami residents) plus a $10 mandatory registration fee.

2013 Summer Camp Fees:$10 mandatory annual registration fee, this can not be waived$60 per week, per child camp fee - city residents$70 per week, per child camp fee - non-city residents

TO OBTAIN A DISCOUNT ON THE FEES: This is only applicable to City of Miami residents and if you are paying the full $60 per week rate. There is no discount on the $10 registration fee.

•Parents who pay for 9 weeks of camp in advance can qualify for a 10% discount on camp fees. The amount of the money order should be $496

•Parents who have more than one child can opt for a three week payment plan. If you pay for three weeks at a time, the first child is charged at $60 per week and each subsequent child is charged at $54 a week. Failure to pay for three weeks at a time would require the remainder of camp weeks to be at $60 per week per child rate. For example a family of 2 would bring for their first payment $362 ( $190 for the first child and $172 for the second).

TO APPLY FOR A FEE REDUCTIONFor those who feel that they can not afford the summer camp fees, you may apply for our Fee Reduction Program. Reduction in fees will be based on need and will be for 75%, 50%, 25% or full scholarship of the camp fee. Only City of Miami residents can apply for a reduced rate.

*Please note that qualification for a reduced fee does not guarantee placement in camp. Parents are encouraged to apply for a fee reduction early in order to be able to register prior to the camp reaching capacity.

SPECIALTY CAMPSCamp ShriverCity of Miami Camp Shriver is a free 6 week inclusive summer camp for young adults with developmental disabilities between the ages of 14 and 22 years old that are registered Special Olympics Miami-Dade County Athletes and young adults without disabilities between the ages of 14 to 18. This inclusive camp is focused on having all of its campers learn sports skills to improve their individual sports performance through the participation of individual and team sports training while they build friendships and have fun. Sports skills training is offered for softball, basketball, bocce, swimming, sailing/kayaking, soccer, and golf. Camp will be from June 24 to August 2, 2013 and its located at the Sandra DeLucca Developmental Center 4560 NW 4th Terrace, Miami, FL 33126. Transportation is not provided. Registration fee of $50 will be due at time of registration and is a one time, non-refundable fee. Camp includes a free lunch and snack. For more information call 305-960-4968.

Adventure Biscayne CampWant your children to have a summer of a lifetime? Sign them up for Adventure Biscayne Camp, it is as easy as ABC. Children will spend their days kayaking, swimming, fishing, swimming and embracing all the watery fun the Biscayne has to offer. Located at Miami Rowing Center at 3601 Rickenbacker Causeway, daily pick up and drop off at designated locations will be available. Camp is run in 2 week sessions and staff are Red Cross Certified. Cost: $395 for City of Miami Residents, $495 for non-City of Miami Residents. For more information call 305-361-1505

Tennis Camp at Bryan ParkDo you have a future tennis pro living in your house? Bryan Park offers beginner and intermediate summer tennis sessions. As part of the program your child will focus on tennis fundamentals, foot work and racquet skills.

Sessions are held twice daily. You can register your child for the morning or afternoon sessions.

$30 a week per session for city of Miami residents/ $35 a week per session for non-city residents.

• Parents must pay a $10 annual registration fee in addition to the session fee. Cashier’s check or money orders only.

SPLISH SPLASH SUMMER Learn to SwimLearning to Swim is a lifelong skill all children in Miami should learn. Water is everywhere in Miami, so it is important your child knows how to swim, float, tread water and what to do in a water emergency. Not only is swimming vital to learn, it also teaches children confidence and builds their coordination skills. Call today to register for classes.

Class cost$45 for 8 classes - City of Miami Residents / $65 for 8 classes – non City of Miami Residents. Private classes are available $160.00

All classes are taught by a American Red Cross Certified Instructor. We offer five levels of classes so that your child can move up beyond basic swim skills. The Parks and Recreation Department also offers a swim team program. Please call your local pool for more information on our aquatic programs.
