To find out which symbol represents which witch, join our interactive quiz thanks to our free trail guide available from Barley Cabin, or download now from www.visitpendle.com/download-brochures
If you’re looking for something both spooky and nice to do why not go up to the woods? Or to be more precise, Aitken Wood, near the village of Barley. There you will find the Pendle Sculpture Trail. Walking through the trail you will find metal bats in the trees, giant tree archways, the spirits of the wood, and… well, 10 witches lurking among the trees! But they won’t jump out on you, because they are in fact ceramic plaques. Each one has its own symbols, representing each one of the ten famous Pendle Witches of 1612.
