We are also excited that restrictions have lifted throughout Senior Living with the Covid vac- cine and we are able to provide in person visits in resident rooms and outdoors. These past 16 months have been especially difficult for our Senior Living residents who have been cut off from their loved ones due to keeping everyone safe and we are excited that we are finally on the other side of most of the restrictions and getting to find our new normal. Thank you for being patient with us and riding out the storm. We hope to see you soon at one of our Resident Fam- ily events. Pacifica Senior Living offers residents many options for staying socially engaged through a variety of stimulating programs and activities. Due to COVID-19, which is sweeping across our nation, this has certainly caused many of our usual activities and routines to cease for several months. Our residents have been vaccinated and we are getting back to the fun again . Last month we celebrated Cinco de Mayo with Mariachis, margaritas and delicious ta-cos. Our Moms had a great time with deli-cious pastries and snow cones for our Moth-er’s Day celebration and we honored our Vet-erans on Memorial day. Come and join us for some fun at Pacifica. As always, thanks for your support. Victoria Bendezu

Dawne Villanueva– RCD Coping with Stress The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major effect on our lives. Many of us are facing challenges that can be stressful, overwhelming, and cause strong emotions in adults and chil-dren. Public health actions, such as social distancing, are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19, but they can make us feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety. Learning to cope with stress in a healthy way will make you, the people you care about, and those around you become more resilient. Stress can cause the following: Feelings of fear, anger, sadness, wor-ry, numbness, or frustration Changes in appetite, energy, desires, and interests Difficulty concentrating and making decisions Difficulty sleeping or nightmares Physical reactions, such as head-aches, body pains, stomach problems, and skin rashes Worsening of chronic health problems Worsening of mental health conditions Increased use of tobacco, alcohol, and other substances It is natural to feel stress, anxiety, grief, and worry during the COVID-19 pandemic. Below are ways that you can help yourself, others, and your community manage stress. Healthy Ways to Cope with Stress Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories Take care of your body. Make time to unwind. Try to do some other activities you enjoy. Connect with others. Connect with your community- or faith-based organizations Taking care of yourself can better equip you to take care of others. Dur-ing times of social distancing, it is es-pecially important to stay connected with your friends and family. Helping others cope with stress through phone calls or video chats can help you and your loved ones feel less lonely or isolated.

Exercise is an essential part of daily life .Exercise sup-ports strength, mobility, stamina and overall good health . Daily exercise helps to lower blood pressure helps with blood sugar con-trol and weight control. Chair aerobics, ball toss, dance and Yoga seated are part of our daily exercise program .
