In the event a youth cannot attend a session and notice is received at least two weeks prior to the opening of that session of camp, all monies except the deposit will be refunded. No refunds will be given for youth leaving camp once a session has started. I give permission for my child’s picture to be used by Camp Fire USA. Use of such pictures may include, but is not limited to, brochures, video, and Internet web sites promoting or reporting on the camp and/or the American Camp Association. I waive any claims that may arise from my child’s participation in Camp Fire activities. I understand that in case I cancel a camping program the deposit will not be refunded. (Parents are urged to contact the Camp Fire office for more information about this camping session in order to recognize the nature of the activity to which they are giving consent.) I understand that in order to provide a safe and cooperative group experience, a child may be dismissed from the program for any reason including behavior, illness/injury, or homesickness. My child has permission to participate in all camping activities, including hikes and scheduled field trips, and be transported by camp for any scheduled activities away from camp property. Just one hour south of theKansas City metro area.One week overnight camp beginning Monday at 9am, and closing Friday at 4pm.Who can attend: Boys and Girls 8 – 14 years old Cost: $390 per camperThis summer the Camp Shawnee experience will occur at a new location! Campers will get to participate in cookouts, hiking, creative arts, swimming, outdoor living skills, canoeing, climbingon the adventure course and living the cabin life.

Week 6 – July 18 – 22, 2011 Walk on the Wild Side Four-legged friends, swampy reptiles, and creepy crawlies will climb their

way into our hearts as we learn about different animals, habitats and

Splash!This week will be all about water and the different ways we can stay cool

with H20 fun.

Week 8 – August 1 – 5, 2011 Explore S’moreLearn some great outdoor skills like using a compass, building a campfire

and traveling the forest for outdoor adventures.

Week 9 – August 8 – 12, 2011 Best of Day Camp Whether you’re new to camp or have been waiting all school year to be

outside for the whole day, this session is for you!

Weeks 1-9Teens In Action (TIA)

(Boys and Girls 12-14

years old)

This camp is purposefully small from 8-10 teens spending the week hiking,

swimming, learning outdoor skills, creating art and participating in many

other camp activities. Teens will also participate in a service project each

week at camp or in the community.

Location: Camp Lake of the Woods (inside Swope Park)
