VOCAL MUSIC • DANCE • MUSICAL THEATER Young Artist Summer Intensive • Artistic Director: Betsy True

Students develop their inner artist and refine their skills by taking classes in dance, musical theater and vocal music. The Young Artist Summer Intensive allows students to strengthen their skills at New Jersey’s premier professional theater! The final showcase takes place at NJPAC.

This intensive is geared toward students at every level with three program options available:

Advanced Division Students will major in dance, vocal music or musical theater.Ages: 12 - 18 June 27 - July 29, 2016 • 9:00am - 4:00pm Tuition: $1,250 / An audition is required to be placed in the Advanced Division. Auditions will be held on March 19, 2016 at NJPAC. Completed registration is required to audition.

Apprentice Plus DivisionAges: 12 - 18 July 11 - August 5, 2016 • 9:30am - 3:30pm Tuition: $1,100 / An audition is required to be placed in the Apprentice Plus Division. Auditions will be held on March 19, 2016 at NJPAC. Completed registration is required to audition.

Apprentice Division Ages: 10 - 16 Session 1: July 11 - 22, 2016 • 9:30am - 3:30pmSession 2: July 25 - August 5, 2016 • 9:30am - 3:30pm Tuition: $650 per session / No auditions are required.

JAZZ All-Female Jazz Residency • Artistic Director: Geri Allen

Young women who want to build their skills in instrumental or vocal jazz will find their inspiration in this one week intensive. Students will be given the opportunity to work with some of the most respected jazz musicians in the field. A final student showcase will take place along with field trips to jazz monuments and institutions.

Ages: 14 - 25July 10 - 16, 2016 • Overnight residency at a local universityTuition: $1,400 for on campus residents; $1,050 for commuters / No auditions are required.

COMEDY The Second City Comedy Workshops

NJPAC is excited to continue their collaboration with The Second City this summer to bring programs in improvisation and comedy to teens and adults alike! Teens can develop skills in creative thinking, self-confidence, team building, empathy and communication while adults can explore improvisation and writing.

Teen Improv and Sketch Comedy WorkshopAges: 14 - 18August 1 - 12, 2016 • 9:30am - 3:30pm Tuition: $750 / No auditions are required.

Adult Improvisation and Comedy Writing Immersion Ages: 19 and up August 8 - 12, 2016 • 9:30am - 3:30pm Tuition: $300 / No auditions are required.

From the Inside Out This groundbreaking program offers a class in improvisation for teens diagnosed with Aspergers’ Syndrome and/or Autism. Explore relationships and social cues in classes that focus on ensemble and team building. Improvisational games used in this class will teach students skills such as accessing emotions and storytelling. This program provides a safe and fun environment where students can explore and challenge themselves. Ages: 14 - 18 August 8 - 12, 2016 • 9:30am - 3:30pm Tuition: $750 / No auditions are required.

HIP HOP Hip Hop Intensive • Artistic Director: Sheikia Norris aka Purple Haze

Students learn the elements of Hip Hop, including MCing, DJing, graffiti, break dancing, beat boxing, spoken word, sound engineering and more! Explore the rich history of Hip Hop and discover how this art form came to be such a significant part of American culture and a powerful vehicle for self-expression. A final showcase will take place at NJPAC.
