Age Specific Groups

GroupGroup One: 18 months old to 3 years of age (Pre-Nursery to Nursery): The main aim at this age is the development of fine and gross motor skills, also the reinforcement of basic skills, with a focus on languages (English with some Spanish).

GroupGroup Two: 4+ (Reception upwards): The focus at this age range is to develop reading, writing and vocabulary skills along with accuracy and understanding of all Mathematical concepts. These activities will allow your child to consolidate the previous years teaching and learning in preparation for the academic year ahead.preparation for the academic year ahead.

The BSM Summer school offers your child additional time to reinforce key skills in a relaxing, fun atmosphere.

ResearchResearch shows that many children forget much of what was learnt during the previous year over the summer break, which can take a whole term to re-learn. This consolidation time enables your child to retain their academic level through reinforcement andand consolidation activities, which is ideal preparation for the next academic year.

Teaching Staff

The staff at the Summer School are experienced and highly qualified teachers. All Summer School teachers and staff are native English speakers.

Venue: The Summer School is held at The British School of Marbella’s campus in the centre of town.

What Will My Child Do At Summer School?

AA typical day at Summer School will see your child involved in structured play, maths games, sports, art and music classes plus an emphasis on English vocabulary, reading and writing. The activities for each group are differentiated so that each child can be supported and challenged appropriately. Group One is very much involved in activities that will improve speaking and listening skills while developing social skills and behaviour. Group Two will concentrate on maths, phonics, reading, writing and speaking & listening skills. Mixed into this day will be many creative and physical activities which promises to be a great deal of fun for all!activities which promises to be a great deal of fun for all!

The children will experience regular field trips to various fun and cultural attractions such as the zoo, aquarium and crocodile park as well as having fun exploring the local attractions such as the beach and nearby parks.

The Summer School programme will also include theme days which will see the children take part in a talent competition, mini sports days and much more!
