ABOUT SUMMER SESSION

• Students may enroll in individual classes or participate in a full day of specialty programming. See pricing on individual classes throughout the catalog.

• InstructorsincludeAISfaculty,localcertifiedteachers,professionalartists,experiencedcoachesandafewtalentedcollegestudents.Theclasssizeislimitedinordertomeettheindividualneedsofeachstudent.Formostelectives,studentsmayattendanynumberofweeksandtheweeksdonotneedtobeconsecutive(unlessotherwisespecified).

• Mostclassroomsareair-conditioned.Dressiscasual.

• Therearenoparent-teacherconferencesforacademiccourses,butparentsarewelcometocontacttheSummerSessionOfficewithanyquestions.

TUITION AND REFUND POLICY

• Anon-refundabledepositmustbesubmittedforeachstudentwiththeregistrationform.Thisdepositwillbeappliedtothefinaltuitionfee.

Depositsareasfollows:

$145 required for 1-3 electives

$250 required for a full day (4 electives)/full week

$675 required for courses for credit

Full payment required for specialty camps (listed on page 16)

• Full payment for all weeks is expected by Friday, May 23, 2014.

• Afulldayofclasses(fourchosenelectives)costs$550,whichreflectsa$30 discount.

• No weeks will be prorated; however, tuition for the week of June 30 will be discounted, as this will be a four-day week due to the July 4 holiday. NoclasseswillmeetonJuly4,andtheSummerSessionOfficewillbeclosed.(Eachelectivecoursewillbe$125insteadof$145forthatweekonly.Courseforcreditpricingthatweekisnotprorated.)

• AfterJune2,wewillnotrefundpaymentsforclasschangesorabsencesduetoachangeinplans,familyvacationorillness.Makeupclassescanbearranged.

• Ifinsufficientenrollmentrequiresthecancellationofacourse,alldepositsandfeesassociatedwiththatcoursewillberefunded.Cancellationofacoursemayoccurtheweekpriortothebeginningofthatcourseduetolowenrollment.

LUNCH POLICY

Ournewstate-of-the-artcafeteria,knownastheStudentLifeCenter,willbeopenforlunchduringSummerSession.Studentsmaybringintheirownbrownbaglunchesorsignupforaweeklymealplan(fivedayminimum).Thecostofalunchwillbe$8.00adayandwillincludeadrink,ahotmealorsandwich,andadessert.Alacarteitemswillbeavailableandmayincludeyogurt,drinksandcarrotsticks.Therearevendingmachinesoncampusforcoldbeveragesandadditionalsnacks.

Buildingonthesuccessofthefall’sLeading for Changeleadershipconference,theCenterfortheAdvancementofGirlsisproudtopresentforathirdyearThe Real DealsummerleadershipprogramatTheAgnesIrwinSchool.Thisweeklongdaycampforgirlsenteringgrades7-9isdesignedtoencouragegirlstodiscovertheirpotentialasleaders,bothinsideandoutsideofschool.Theprogramwillincludethefollowingfeaturedsessions:

Empowerment & Leadership Camperswillengageinawidearrayoffun,interactiveactivitiestailoredtobringouttheirstrengthsandtorealizetheiruniqueabilitiesasstrong,capablegirls.Throughouttheweek,theseyoungwomenwilllearntheskillsandtraitsnecessarytoleadeffectivelywhileuncoveringtheessenceofwhotheyareasleaders.

BABYSITTINGRED CROSS CERTIFICATION (WK 1, 2, 4, 5, 6)Grades5-8 $145/week 12:30–2p.m.

Thisclasswillprepareyoutobecomearesponsiblebabysitter.Itwillcovereverythingfromroutinechildcaretoemergencyprocedures,includingbasicfirstaid.YoumustcompleteallfivedaysoftheclassinordertobecertifiedasaRedCrossBabysitter.EachstudentwillreceiveTheRedCrossBabysittingHandbookandacertificateaftercompletingtherequiredhoursofinstruction.TheRedCrossbabysittingcertificatewillbesenttoparticipantsinAugust.Note: You must be at least 11 years of age.
