BROKERAGE NEWSYacht sales are on the rise and Moran Yacht & Ship had led the way in 2014. The most significant sale in the industry in over a year is undoubtedly the sale of the 288 Ft. (88m) Lurssen QUATTROELLE by Moran Yacht & Ship. The sale of QUATTROELLE is significant not only because of her size, but because she is less than a year old. Another high profile sale by our team was the 223 Ft. (68m) Lurssen KISMET. The former owners of KISMET and QUATTROELLE trusted Moran Yacht & Ship to manage the construction of their vessels and to sell them, demonstrating the companies’ leadership in both sales and new construction. Our brokers have also sold a pair of 164 Ft. (50m) motor yachts; the iconic Feadship built IROQUOIS and the sleek Trinity built MINE GAMES have proud new owners. Additionally, we completed the sale of another Palmer Johnson sport yacht, the 150 Ft. (45.7m) VANTAGE in November of last year.

NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATES

GLOBAL, a 308 Ft. (94m) Lurssen, is moving along nicely. Interior outfitting is going well. Project GLOBAL’s production is on time and is scheduled to launch in the late summer or early fall of 2014. She will be named KISMET II and will be available for charter exclusively through Moran Yacht & Ship. GOLDEN AGE is a 200 Ft. (61m) superyacht being built at the renowned Hakvoort Shipyard in Holland. Due for delivery in 2015, she is currently having her super structure assembled. She has an interior and exterior by Sinot Yacht Designs, a steel hull and aluminum super structure, and will feature 6 cabins for 12 guests. ZEUS, a 207 Ft. (63m) Hakvoort, just recently had her keel laying ceremony. With the pre-production phase complete and the keel laid, the production phase will begin and the vessel will start to come together quickly to meet her 2017 delivery date. ZEUS features an exterior by Sinot Yacht Designs and an interior by Rene van der Velden. She will accommodate 12 guests in 6 spacious cabins and will be able to go anywhere in the world. Designed by the famous Nuvolari and Lenard, the slick looking sport yacht APOLLO will be 170 Ft. (52.4m). She will have accommodation for 12 guests in 6 cabins, an 8 meter swimming pool, and a top speed of 24 knots. APOLLO is due for delivery this year and will surely be a head turner.

NEW PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT - THOR

Moran Yacht & Ship are very pleased to announce the signing of a contract to build a 242 Ft. (74m) superyacht, which will be known as Project THOR. This completely custom, full displacement motor yacht will feature interior volume larger than any other 242 Ft. (74m) floating today. While many of the details are still confidential at this point, we can say that Andrew Winch Designs will be responsible for both the interior and exterior of the vessel. The vessel will be built at the Lurssen Shipyard in Germany, who have earned a reputation for yachts built to the highest standard of quality. The shipyard has achieved this through a highly skilled work force, constant innovation, and four generations of ship building experience. The Moran Yacht & Ship New Construction Team will continue to work with the Owner and shipyard to manage the build process from concept to completion. The New Construction Team are excited to carry on their excellent working relationship with the Lurssen Shipyard and Andrew Winch Designs. Moran Yacht & Ship are confident that after a seamless build process, Project THOR will continue the world-class superyacht pedigree of Moran Yacht & Ship and the Lurssen Shipyard.

Not frequented as regularly as the west coast, Italy’s east coast is full of spectacular sights along the Adriatic coastline.
