CTTC

How does a Carmel Camper become a true Carmel Triple Threat? Easy. Join in on the fun and games that this exciting camp will provide in three important areas!

Each day of CTTC provides campers with three distinct opportunities to have a fantastic time developing skills and building friendships. (And lunch, also!)

TENNIS – With a fun learning environment and opportunity to build and enhance skills, the Tennis portion of CTTC uses a variety of games and drills to improve your child’s existing game or simply introduce them to the basics. Campers will enjoy the tennis facility to the fullest and have plenty of fun on the courts! Activities will include favorites like: Jail

Break, Tennis Baseball, King of the Court and Tennis Olympics!

GOLF – Seamlessly blending fun and golf instruction, Triple Threat Campers will enjoy fundamental skill development, golf games, and instruction in the following areas: Putting, Chipping, Pitching, and Full Swings. The SNAG Golf Sys-tem will be used for the Pee-Wees and US Kids Golf Clubs and real golf balls for the older students. No matter the skill

level or experience in golf, the CTTC embodies the old saying – Have Fun, Play Golf !

ACTIVITIES – Rounding out the day will be activities specially tailored to your camper’s age and skills. We find that most kinds enjoy being active and playing games that test their skills and creativity. Obstacle courses, minute-to-win-it games, water games and creative tasks like art projects, science activities, and problem solving games are among the

activities Triple Threat Campers will enjoy. With all of this fun to be had, your camper is sure to be pooped at the end of each camp day!

Important information for parents of Triple Threat Campers:

~All Campers are asked to bring their own racquet or purchase one from The Shop at Carmel Tennis.4-6 year olds need a 21” racquet, 7-8 year olds need a 23” racquet,

9-10 year olds need a 25” racquet, 11 & up need a 27” racquet.~Campers do not need to bring their own golf clubs for camp as they will be provided.

~Due to the extreme heat during our summer months, frequent water breaks will be taken and ice towels will be pro-vided at each outdoor station. We will also provide an area of shade at each station. You are always invited to pack water

bottles, hats, and extra sunscreen with your camper as well.~We understand concerns with children’s allergies when we provide lunch and we are happy to accommodate special

dietary needs. Please indicate these needs at registration and we will confirm the menu with you ahead of time.

And remember, the week of July 10-14 the Carmel Triple Threat Camp is an all-day affair, so pack a swim suit and a change of clothes.

“The innovative and motivating way to play the game.”

Operation 36 is a new way to bring students to the game and develop their skills on the golf course. Each “match” is a 9-hole course set up for each

player starting at 25 yards from each green. Once the student reaches the target score of 36 for that

9-hole course, he/she will move on to the next division. One of the main goals for Op 36 is to

make the students comfortable on the golf course and develop their skills through on-course play. This is an innovative and great way to let your

child become more acclimated to the game of golf.

A joint initiative founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, United States Golf Association and The PGA of America, the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship is a free nationwide junior golf development competi-tion aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf.

By tapping the creative and competitive spirit of girls and boys ages 7-15, the Drive, Chip and Putt Champi-onship provides aspiring junior golfers an opportunity to play with their peers in qualifiers around the country. Participants who advance through local, sub-regional and regional qualifying in each age/gender category earn a place in the National Finals, which is conduct-ed at Augusta National Golf Club the Sunday before the Masters Tournament and is broadcast live by Golf Channel.

The Carmel Dolphins Swim TeamTo sign up for Swim Team please fill out this form (follow the link) to Carmel Swim Team Sign Ups or go to the Carmel website, www.carmelcountryclub.org and click on the Youth tab and then click Swim located underneath it. Cost is $75 per child to join; includes league registration, awards, team party and swimmer gift.

An additional $30 per swimmer ($50 max per family) will allow you to enjoy the swim season without having to volunteer at the meets.

The goal of swim team is not to teach children to swim, but to offer con-tinued development as well as an enjoyment of our competitive swimming program. If your child is unable to swim the length of the pool without assistance, we encourage your child to partake in private swim lessons or Stroke Clinics offered at Carmel, or to pursue instruction in the off-season. There are multiple locations throughout Charlotte that offer these opportunities.

Swim Team Suits and MerchandiseWhile we will be using the same style swim suits as last year, this year we will be offering the new official team logo as a purchase option as well. Your swimmer can be fitted for a suit in the Shop at Carmel Tennis and suits can be ordered online at www.augustaswimsupply.com. Click “Team Login” on the left side of the page. Login information is CARMEL and password is 1234. We are excited to offer many new swimmer and supporter spirit-wear items as well. All of these items will be displayed in the Shop at Carmel Tennis and shop staff would be happy to assist you with the ordering process.

Swim EvaluationSwim Team Evaluations will take place at the first team practice on May 17 at 4:00pm.

Please note: Only swimmers who can swim a complete length of the pool unassisted can swim on the swim team and attend practices. Swim Team is not swimming lessons. Having a strong foundation and swimming skills helps make the Carmel swim team a fun and enriching experience. Only swimmers where skills are in doubt need to attend the swimming evalua-tion.
