is to focus on the areas of a project that will provide the best return on our
client’s investment. Summit is very team oriented and has a “whatever it takes”
approach when it comes to creating a project that is affordable to build while
still being aesthetically pleasing to a tenant. Summit will work with the client
and its design team from the conceptual stages all the way to the final product
to ensure that your next project is as successful as it was meant to be.
ESTIMATING
Summit prides itself in being thorough and complete on all of our project
estimates. Our estimating skills help guarantee performance, service and quality to
our clients once their project breaks ground. With over 20 years in the industry,
we are very aware of which subcontractors perform, pay their bills, and handle
their warranty. This knowledge provides our clients with confidence that their
project will be constructed properly and without the risk of liens. Summit’s
experience combined with our long standing subcontractor relationships have
driven our company to be one of the most competitive general contracting
firms in the market today.
MONTHLY OWNER REPORTS
Do you ever wonder what is happening on your project? During construction,
Summit will provide you with login information along with a hard copy of a
report that will get you up to speed on all aspects of your project. You will be
able to view items such as aerial progress photos, inspection status, issue logs,
change order logs, submittal logs, as well as projected turnover dates. We make
it easy for you to stay informed!
PROJECT SPECIFIC FIELD MANUALS
Each Summit project has a quick reference manual put together by Summit’s
project manager for Summit superintendents and subcontractors to have quick
access to information on items that need to “fit” properly. A few items found in
this guide are window and door rough openings, cabinet layouts, manufacturer
installation guidelines for house-wrap, and installation guidelines for windows
including fastening details and taping and sealing requirements.
SCHEDULING
Summit utilizes the critical path method of scheduling. An overall schedule will
be developed for the project and then “look ahead” schedules will be created
and reviewed every 2 weeks by Summit’s project manager, superintendents, and
pertinent subcontractor supervisors. They will review the project schedule,
current issues, future needs, and any other items that are critical for the given
period of time, which helps to keep your project on or ahead of schedule!

WATERPROOF / ENVELOPE MEETINGS
Summit is an industry leader in this area. Ask us about our waterproofing
systems! Just a few of the methods we implement will be a Typar house wrap
system with a 10 year warranty. A minimum 9" width on all window tapes,
windows set in sealant, corner flashings at window areas, quick flash at all
electrical, HVAC, and plumbing penetrations, and so much more. All of these
systems and methods will be reviewed during mandated meetings that are held
at the early stages of every Summit project and heavily managed by all Summit
personnel that are involved in your project.
MOLD PRE-TREATMENT
This is a very important option provided to remedy any weather intrusion that
may occur during construction. Reports will be provided at project completion
certifying that there are no existing issues at time of turnover.
PROCORE
Summit combines our in-house experts and our Procore real time software
to ensure your project flow is near effortless and accurate. We understand the
importance of each document - IW, insurance, waist; so tracking each of these
items in our software allows all Project Team Members to be pro-active and
aware of all the sub/vendors.
QUALITY CONTROL CHECKLISTS
These lists are completed by field personnel throughout construction. These
lists are tools that act as a check and balance system to ensure that every critical
area of your project is verified to be correctly installed.
ACCOUNTING AND PROJECT ADMINISTRATION
Our staff is highly trained in the procedures for all states we perform work in
and is proactive in policing lien waivers and insurance for each one. They are
familiar with HUD projects and associated certified payroll and constantly
monitor insurance expirations, ensure prompt payment to subcontractors
(usually within 24 hours of payment by owner), all under the supervision of
our Chief Financial officer who is also a certified accountant.

OUR TEAM
Marc holds contractors licenses and is a qualifier for Summit in the Southeastern and Midwest United States including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Marc has been involved in commercial and multifamily construction for over 20 years including tax credit, senior living, hotel, renovation, and market rate projects.
Prior to being a principal with the Summit Companies, Marc spent time as a Superintendent, Estimator, Project Manager and Senior Project Manager. Having experience in all of these area provides him with the expertise to manage all daily operations of the company including contract negotiations, marketing, management, estimating, pre-construction services, and value engineering.
Marc is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, Florida Housing Coalition, National Association of Home Builders, Northeast Florida Builders Association, the Florida Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association.
NICOLE PADGETT-Chief Administrative Officer & Vice President
MARC PADGETT-President & CEO
Nicole is responsible for providing input in virtually every facet of the company by delegating, organizing and creating new ideas to help the company’s bottom line. She directly handles all hiring and training of top level employees and managers, and maintains a strong team focused environment.
Nicole serves as the focal point for interaction with the President and Corporate Officers with respect to Chief Administrative Officer activities by providing input on strategic planning and organizational processes, combined with recommendations and insights that contribute to operational strategies and overall corporate direction.
She oversees all aspects of Summit’s marketing campaign including management of e-mail programs, coordination of trade-shows,
management of corporate website, groundbreaking ceremonies, corporate brochures and all marketing material. Nicole is responsible for creating and implementing all corporate documentation.

OUR TEAM
Bernie is responsible for overseeing management, estimating, preconstruction services and project production. His leadership and knowledge assures our clients/partners of quality construction that is achieved on schedule and within budget in a safe work environment.
Born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Bernie has made construction his livelihood from day one.
Upon earning his B.S. and B.A. from Ohio State University in Construction Management and Business, Bernie immediately entered the contracting world and has worked in many facets of the industry.
His 30 years of experience are highlighted by his expertise in multifamily, student housing, motel and retirement housing construction. Understanding that life is more than just work, Bernie’s hobbies include golf, baseball, boating and offshore fishing.
Zach has been a huge asset to Summit’s Executive Team for over a decade. He started his career in the construction industry at the early age of 16 in California, working in the framing and roofing trades through high school and into his college years. Zach completed much of his undergraduate work at California State University, before complete an apprenticeship in the glass and architectural metal trade in the early 90’s.
Zach returned to college in 1996 at Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Construction Management in 2011. Zach is LEED certified.
Zach worked full time throughout his college career in the turn-key
framing industry as a Foreman, Estimator, and Project Manager. After graduating, Zach went to work in general contracting, working in the commercial and multifamily markets throughout the Midwest.
Luke has over 14 years of construction experience and has been with Summit for over 4 years. He is responsible for all aspects of estimating including conceptual estimating. Working through preconstruction activities, project bids and construction schedules.
This type of leadership and experience fit perfectly with the Summit business model. Luke works in conjunction with the business development department in managing existing and future clients workloads.

Aaron is responsible for maintaining close relationships with current clients as well as generating new business by developing relationships with new clients. Aaron focuses on ensuring that every one of our clients receives the same incredible experience while working with Summit and that a loyal partnership is formed to optimize repeat business.
Aaron also felicitates and manges all public relations activities such as press releases, sponsorships, advertising, and charities, as well as working with our marketing team.

TANYA ADAMS-Director of Marketing
Tanya assumes overall responsibility for developing all marketing plans for our organization, strategically increasing our market share, establishing and maintaining our brand identity, and controlling the market budget. Tanya provides leadership to the marketing department by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems policies, and values are developed in order to meet and exceed the goal’s of Summit’s marketing brand
Tanya leads both the planning and implementation of brand level/program development communications and promotional strategies, including; new media, social media, print, outside, interactive, and non-traditional approaches in multi-brand environment.
She also maintains and designs all visual material such as brochures, fliers, signage, web content, and apparel.
ED MOLONEY-Financial Controller
Ed holds over 20 years of construction accounting and has experience working for Developers, General Contractors and Subcontractors. He is responsible for the day to day operations of the accounting department and the overall financial reporting for the organization.
Ed graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Accounting and later returned to school at Florida Atlantic University where he obtained his State of Florida Certified Public Accountant License. When Ed is not working, he can be found spending time with his family or participating in outdoor activities.

Christi currently serves as Summit’s Director of Internal Controls. She is responsible for all Summit’s overhead accounting, as well as the overhead accounting for Summit’s partnered entities. Christi manages and tracks all Summit issued devices such as cell phones, laptops, I Pads, and sets up all devices and accounts for both new hires and existing employees.
In addition, Christi manages Summit’s corporate credit card accounts, which includes coding, entering, paying all corporate and field credit card balances, and instructing employees on using the Concur expense reporting software. Christi also help with many corporate duties such as licensing and other administrative tasks.
Rebecca serves as Summit’s Director of Corporate Services. She is responsible for conducting new employee orientations at headquarters and administering employee health, welfare, and retirement plans. Rebecca works to ensure effective utilization of these plans and keeping positive employee relations.
Other duties include nationwide licensing for the company, obtaining COI’s, keeping office and job-sites up to date with required Federal and State posters, tracking company property, and working close with the safety director to ensure proper documentation and prevention of injury for Summit employees. She has been with Summit for four years.

MIKE WHITE-Director of Network Administration
Mike received his degree from Florida State College in Jacksonville and Cisco Academy and has over 20 years of hands on experience with computers, programming, software, trouble shooting and managing networks. Michael has continued his education and certification throughout his entire career.
Over the last 4 years with Summit, Mike has transitioned Summit to the most recent cutting edge technology, while managing to increase productivity in the process. Mike is a certified Savant dealer which will turn Summit’s Training Room and all Board Rooms into “State of the Art” facilities.

K9s For Warriors-Giving a new leash on life to rescue dogs and military heroes.
It took a dream, determination and more than a few donations to create this reality. "Camp K9" is located on nine acres of prime real estate in St. Johns County. Summit Contracting Group, Inc. donated its services as a builder, and hundreds of sub-contractors donated their time, labor and materials for the project "Camp K9" total build value is $7 million.
The Promise to Kate Foundation was created to honor Kate Conte and to help fund research for Myotonic Dystrophy (DM), an underfunded and rare form of muscular dystrophy.
Summit Contracting Group, Inc. sponsored the first Annual "The Classic" Golf Tournament donating $32,500 for Promise to Kate.

Summit has built numerous multifamily projects for me over the years. Every single project that they have built has been finished on time and on budget. I realize that those terms are loosely thrown around in the industry, however in this case it is true. The last project that they built for me was particularly difficult. The new building was to be built curb to curb. As a result the jobsite office and lay down area was located over 2 blocks away from the project site on the other side of an active shopping district. Deliveries to the site were coordinated to not interfere with open businesses and ongoing traffic.
