While working out itsel can bequite the energy drain, settingup an appropriate plan or yournew ound exercise routine canbe just as daunting. It is tempt-ing just to hit the gym a nd ocuson one particular muscle group,or set o activities, but balanceis key to achieving your tnessgoal, regardless o what it is.

Myths propagate the tnessworld that prevent people romachieving their results. Manybelieve that cardio is the bestway to lose overall weight, but ithas no use or those who want tobuild muscle mass. Some believethat weight training is only useulor gaining weight. Many peopleneglect to even consider fexibil-ity training as an adequate parto their routine. However, eacho these has an integral part in

ensuring that your tness goal iswell-maintained, and more im-portantly, sae and healt hy.Cardiovascular activity, wheth-

er it is aerobics, running, oranything that gets your heartpounding, is not only a proven

way to aid in reduction o bodyat percentages, it also has healthbenets or your heart. Even themost muscular man can be con-sidered out o shape i cardio isnot incorporated into his train-ing program. Cardio allows yourheart to get the exercise it needsto stay strong. It also provides agood warm up or muscles thatwill be used in other activities, such as weight liing. Withoutproperly preparing t hese musclesor work, they are more likely tobecome injured.

While weight training bringsto mind the image o an ArnoldSchwarzenegger-type muscleman, weight training should bean integral part o every workout regimen. Not only will itgive you a more dened andtoned body, additional muscle

strength can help you daily lie,rom carrying around textbooksto climbing university stairs. However, weight training alsoaids in t he reduction o body atin that it increases your metabo-lism, the speed at which yourbody burns calories. While itdoes not achieve the same ratesas cardiovascular exercise, itis able to sustain the increasedspeed or a longer period otime.

Flexibility is one o the mostoverlooked components to awell rounded exercise program. While some people still do takethe time to stretch, incorporat-ing a day o Pilates or yoga intoa routine will allow not only orincreased fexibility, but will alsohelp prevent injuries by insuringthat muscles do not remain tight.

Not only will your body eel longand lean, a ocus on stretchingand breathing also helps clearthe brain.

Finally, the most importantcomponent to an exercise regi-men is rest. While trying tobe active every day is a positivegoal, allowing muscle groupsadequate time to rest and healbeore being worked again is im-portant to prevent and decreasepain and injury.

While there is constant con-fict over which component oan exercise program is most im-portant, nding ways to incor-porate all aspects into each workout session or each week will notonly help you achieve your t-ness goals, but will also makesure that your work outs stay assae as possible.
