O God, forasmuch as without you we are not able to please you; mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

MOTHERS’ UNION COLLECTION For the Genesis shop in Sheffield, we are collecting children’s games and toys For the women’s refuges we are collecting: towels, flannels, tea towels (all new), mugs, glasses, crockery (new or in good condition) white preferred, toiletry items, nappies all sizes but especially size 5, baby wipes, pants/socks for boys and girls. DISTRIBUTION OF MAKING HISTORY LEAFLETS Please can people volunteer to distribute Making History leaflets through doors over the next couple of weeks? We are aiming to communicate the project with the whole parish, but still have a lot of streets to do. Please speak to Beverley (01372 377551) to select roads and collect leaflets.

ALL SOULS’ DAY Service of Memories Thursday 2 November at 6.30pm Parish Church This will be a quiet, reflective service using music, readings and silence, in which we will remember our dear ones whom we love but see no longer. If you would like the name of your loved one to be read out please write their name IN BLOCK CAPITALS on the sheet in church.

MARTIN LUTHER & THE REFORMATION Friday 3 November 7.30pm Christ Church URC Hall An illustrated talk by Jim Sayers on the subject of Martin Luther and the Reformation to celebrate the 500th anniversary. If you plan to attend, please add your name to the sign-up sheet in church. CAKES FOR MESSY CHURCH Messy Church is held every 3rd Thursday of the month term time. Could you give to Messy Church next month by baking a cake on Wednesday 15 November and dropping it off to Holly in the Parish Office before 5pm? Our families love homemade cake and we would be grateful if you feel you could serve them in this way.
