Dear Church Family,

Frailer of Lisuland in Northern Burma translated the Scriptures into the Lisu language and then le a

young man with the task of teaching the people to read. When Frailer returned six months later, he

found three students and the teacher seated around a table, with the Scriptures opened in front of

the teacher. When the students each read, they le the Bible where it was res#ng. The student on

the le read it sideways from le to right. The student on the right read it sideways but from right

to le. The man across from the teacher read it upside down. Since they always occupied the same

chairs, that is how they learned to read, and that is how they thought the language was wri%en.

In our lives we can tend to be like this also. When we learn something from only one perspec#ve,

we may think it's the only perspec#ve. Some#mes it's good to change seats to assume a different

perspec#ve on the same truth.

You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free!

Pastor Cary
