If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough. -Meister Eckhart Live simply, that others may simply live. –Mahatma Ghandi Don’t let making a living prevent you from making a life. –John Wooden The funy thing about money is that although it can become the treasure that runs our lives, how we use it can also be one of the most telling indicators of how serious we are as disciples. Our checkbooks/computers tell what we truly

    value. –Daniel Harris

    God is still speaking …..

No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey …

You are welcome here! A SPECIAL WARM WELCOME TO OUR GUESTS!

Thank you for joining us today! We hope that you feel the warmth of God’s spirit here as we worship together! Please complete the form (in the pew) to let us know a little more about you and place it in the offering plate. As our guests this day it is the only offering we ask. If you should have a prayer concern or would like to meet with the Pastor please indicate this next to your name. Thank you!

Following worship please join us in Fellowship Hall for an informal Continental Breakfast.

Please note our worship services are online and televised, your participation in the service may be visible during these live ministries. If you should not wish your child to be on screen, please refrain from sending them forward during the children’s time or have them sit directly in front of the pews in the front.

Children are welcome in worship; however, should your child grow restless feel free to sit with them in the Parlor at the rear of the Sanctuary.

Nursery/childcare is available for children up to age 2 and is located on Level 2 just beyond the Chapel.

Children are invited to attend Sunday School following the Children’s Message. Classes are offered for all ages.

Large print bulletins and hearing devices are available. Please ask an usher.

An elevator is at your disposal for all levels; our west entrance has a ramp.

PRELUDE ANNOUNCEMENTS STEWARDSHIP MOMENT Be A Part of It All Jessica Johnson *SHARING THE PEACE *OPENING SONG Mighty to Save -Fielding and Morgan *CALL TO WORSHIP (Responsive) God, if we are honest, we worry a lot. We worry about family, we worry about work, we worry about money or lack thereof… There is so much that we cannot control We worry about that too! Help us Jesus to be thankful for the things we have and not to measure ourselves or our lives by what we do not. Amen. INFANT DEDICATION Pastor Scott What is the difference between a Dedication of a child and a Baptism you might ask? Baptism is a sacrament where the parents of a child make promises on behalf of that child to raise them in the Christian faith, so that later, when they come of age, they might on their own volition confirm the faith their parents pledged on their behalf. Baptism is a sacrament. This means that we believe that the Holy Spirit interacts with the one being baptized; cleansing them of sin, marking them as a disciple, and naming that one publicly within the community of faith as a child of the living God, marked forever in their identity as a follower of Christ and child of God. Dedication, which is more common to what Jewish parents during Jesus’ life would have done with their own children, is when parents bring their child before God asking God to help them to raise that child. They ask for God to grant them wisdom to parent and for God’s wisdom to bless that child being dedicated before God in love. In both Baptism and Dedication the child is presented before God. Where dedication differentiates itself is that a family dedicating a child is saying that they cannot make the promise on behalf of their child that that child will one day be a disciple of Christ. They can guide them, raise them in a faithful home, but the choice to follow Jesus must be made by each individual. Thus a dedicated child would, when they feel called by the spirit to follow Jesus, choose their own baptism as both an outward and visible sign and an inward claim on their own heart to follow Jesus. Dedication Hymn #680 Borning Cry -Ylvisaker Scripture Reading Psalm 71:5-6 Questions of Dedication Question to the Congregation

    THE MAFIA MURDERS

    Saturday night, December 3, 2016

    6:30pm to 10:30 pm

The Godfather is throwing a party in his speakeasy, The Slippery Cellar. You are all invited to partake in the Godfather’s generous dinner, cocktails and entertainment on Friday night, December 3, 2016. No firearms or bribery will be allowed once inside of the speakeasy. The Godfather and his cohorts are a pretty tough bunch so watch your P’s and Q’s around them, for you never know what they are up to. You will get to meet our Godfather, Donato “Babyface” Brundizzi, Waldo “The Sneak” Brundizzi and “Crusher” Joe Genelli. Enjoy the silver throated voice of Fifi La Trick (the Godfather’s main squeeze), as she sings the torch songs of the 1920’s. You will dine on the delicious cooking of the Godfather’s Aunt Connie (who has become crazy ever since her Mafia husband’s demise). The proceeds of this fabulous night will go to the Godfather’s “yut” fellowship and junior fellowship groups so they can continue their “good deeds” (as the Godfather calls them).

Keep a look out for upcoming flyers, emails, e-blasts and announcements for further details.
