ORDER OF WORSHIP | FEBRUARY 15, 2015

Prelude “Look Ye Saints, the Sight Is Glorious” R. Vaughan Williams

Welcome to The Peoples Church! Betsy Aho

Call to Worship

Leader: From seashore to mountain top, from lonely place to hillside, from touching lepers to touching glory, this has been the reign of God.

People: From baptism’s water to mountain top glory, from calling disciples to the healing of many, from synagogue exorcism to trans! guration, we have moved in the glory of God.

Leader: The revealing, the making known, the unfolding, the manifesting, the unveiling, the unmasking, of Jesus.

People: From the Jordan to the present, from the beginning to here, from the Galilee to this place, let us gather in the trans! gured light of God.

Gathering Hymn “Jesus, Take Us to the Mountain” No. 193

(Please stand if able.)

Procession of the Light of Christ Boyd Cook, acolyte

Prayer of Confession

God of trans! guration, you meet us in the ordinary as well as the extraordi-nary moments of life. We seek you in the valleys and the mountaintops. Yet we admit that too often our eyes are blind to your presence, too often our ears are deaf to your call. When you reach out to us through the cries of the hun-gry and homeless, too often our hearts shrink from your touch. Forgive us, we pray, and set us free to live into your call for our lives. Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
