~ Dock ~
There is an aluminum dock off of the steps from the patio. This dock is great for fishing, swimming, or just sitting and watching sunsets. Do not leave boats tied up to this dock during rough waters or overnight. The eastern shore of the lake can get large waves which could destroy your boat and the dock.

~ Things to Know ~
Leave the Cottages as you found them Please do the following:
• No garbage left in cottages. • No food left in the cottages. • Lock all cottages – including Pump House and Tool Shed. • Clean Kitchen – wash all dishes and put them away. • Unplug and turn off heaters.
Drinking Water We have treated water coming from the lake, which is the same water used throughout the municipality. This is our own system and not tied to the township. However it is basically the same type water. It is potable but if you are hesitant to use water from the tap - use the 5 gallon water jug next to the refrigerator. To obtain clean safe water take the 5 gallon water jug to the water treatment plant near Mindemoya Lake. There is a filling hose at the treatment plant that cost 1 dollar. To get to the water treatment plant go to the second stop sign down by the lake (pass the government dock) and turn right (like you are going into town) and the plant is on the right side of the road. Bottled water is also a choice.
If Hydro is off The Hydro will need to be turned on at the electric pole. On the other side of the split rail fence (by the driveway) is a hydro pole with a meter. At the bottom of the meter there is a metal lever that you will need to be pushed up. You can tell the power is on because the meter (which was blank when you walked up) will now have some numbers on the face. At this point power for all cabins should be on.

Things to Know ~
If the meter is on and you still do not have power in the cottages you will need to locate the electric panels in each cottage and flip the main power breakers: • In the Stone Cottage the electric box is in the front bedroom. • In the Wood Cottage the electric box is in the front closet. • In the Bunk House the electric panel is above the door – just flip the lever to
engage the power. Note…On the Island there are times when the Hydro is shut off for maintenance. If this occurs it is usually for just a few hours – and typically on Sunday around noon. Garbage Use blue see thru bags for regular garbage. The blue bags are located under the kitchen sink. Separate all recyclables from the regular trash – garbage men will not pick up trash unless we separate the recycle ables from the regular trash. Place recyclables in the blue bins in the Pump House. Boats Do not leave any boats, canoes, and kayak in the water. Waves can become large on Mindemoya Lake and severely damage boats and the dock. We have a large lake Canoe and a fishing Kayak that can be used by renters at their own risk. Lifejackets & Boat Cushions are located in storage bins next to the Bunky. Put away all lifejackets, paddles, seats into the plastic bins located next to the Bunk House when boat use is over.
Campfires Campfires – All campfires must be extinguished - make sure you dump water on your campfire before going in for the night. Winds can come up and carry an ember into the woods.

Septic System The cottages use a septic system for waste. Do not flush anything down the toilets other than toilet paper. The septic system cannot handle anything but toilet paper. Grills There is one Weber charcoal grill. If you use the grill please make sure that the grill is cleaned out before leaving. Coals can be dumped out backed but make sure that all they are extinguished before dumping. Sweeper There is a sweeper in the back bedroom of the Stone Cotta ~Points of Interest on Manitoulin Island ~
