The Wine for the World Collaboration project is the cornerstone of our identity as a company. The project began in 2013, when Wine for the World Founder Mika Bulmash, aſter spending a harvest in South Africa, set out to showcase international winemaking talent. Her goal was to bring a new level of awareness to promising winemaking regions while bringing people together. She began by bridging emerging winemaking regions and their winemakers with established winemakers from the United States. Aſter completing a successful crowdfunding campaign, the first collaboration was born. Wine for the World partnered Ntsiki Biyela, South Africa’s celebrated, talented, and first black female winemaker, with Helen Keplinger of Napa Valley, an esteemed winemaker for some of the region’s most prestigious cellars. Both have received extraordinary accolades: Biyela as Woman Winemaker of the Year in South Africa in 2009 and Keplinger as Food and Wine Magazine’s Winemaker of the Year 2012. In December 2013, the winemakers blended Red Collection No. 1, which entered the United States market in August 2014. The wines sold out. Building on its success, Red Collection No. 2 was launched in September 2016, and given the name “Suo”, which means “to stich” or “to unite”. The winemakers chose this time to create a sultry, beautiful Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec. In 2016, the collaborative project also reached a meaningful milestone. Biyela credits the project with providing the capital and encouragement to launch her own brand – a dream she is finally now fulfilling. Wine for the World is proud to bring talented winemakers together and make the wine world just a lile bit smaller, encouraging consumers to discover new wines with impactful stories. suo red collection no. 2
