HAPPINESSAm I happy? I’m always happy…I guess!

No, I’m not happy, I’m alone, I’m not that good in my studies, I didn’t achieve anything worth mentioning…yet!

That’s an example of a conversa-tion that one has when he/she is feeling under theweather for any reason, or some-times surprisingly when feeling happy...you just try to suppress that happiness feeling with these ideas, and they slowly begin to crawl into our subcon-scious creating that false feeling of not being happy because of any reason that could make sense at that time; not having proper relationships some-times, not getting high grades in school/college or just working hard for quite some-times and not seeing the results.

Someone once told me: “We can’t stand being happy for a long period of time”, and he is right to some extent. We always

tend to search for something to ruin that feeling of happiness, to shorten it...maybe to feel guilty deep down in the first place, as if we have one of those “hurricane detectors” inside to detect happiness and decide that it is the proper time to ruin any feeling of happiness that might hit that person anytime, and it’s better to feel down to reduce the shock to the minimum in the transition between the current state…that very short state – happi-ness – and the normal state.

Enough with the science thing, in other simpler words, we act defensive all the time, our brain works that way, our body acts this way, you’ll notice it...whenever you’re talking with someone you’re not comfortable with, your body becomes defensive because of whatever feeling you’re having towards that person, but most importantly…we act defensive...Why? It’s fear. We have fear of losing that feeling of happiness, the feeling that takes us above anything in the world. Just imagine receiving the best news ever..will you fly? Will you jump out of joy like a 5-year old boy/girl? Will you? Of course you will! You feel like you have owned the world at that particular

moment, it doesn’t matter if you’re happy because someone texted you, or you just graduated with honors…happiness doesn’t know a scale. But once again we manage PERFECTLY to twist it and trans-form it as if it’s the worst thing that have ever happened. One common defensive mecha-nism is -unsurprisingly- overthinking…we just overthink, overanalysis..we say that we live the moment and we live life one day at a time..well, obviously we don’t. We just claim that; we don’t actually let go of anything...it’s just a preset thing in our brain, that’s why we mainly call happiness a momentary feeling..something we feel occasionally..something which is out of reach because we just over think it…as if something bad for sure will happen, and we begin questioning it: Do I deserve to be happy? I have a lot of problems I’m too busy to be happy...I’m happy now, but I have nobody to share it with! Oh my God I’m lonely, no happy guy again!...Happy? Am I dying tomorrow or something? I can sense that you know.

Unfortunately, we master that, instead of enjoying that feeling called “Happiness” we worry over its occurrence more than it actually deserves, we don’t enjoy that beauty of feeling happy...of course

we all have worries, problems, fail-ures, lots of things that need our attention more than just that so called feeling “Happiness”, but trust me..happiness is what makes you keep going in your life, it’s your fuel for bad days…you might say now that you can’t control when or how you can feel happy, but let me tell you that, it’s so easy to feel happy every single day, you just need to do what makes you happy, it doesn’t matter if it’s a big/small thing...what most impor-tantly that it makes you happy.

And always remember…you deserve to be happy all the way…all the time…nothing else matters...NOTHING.

Assalamu ’alaikum warahmatullah my dear brothers and sisters,

I would like to take a moment out to explain an aspect of life with regards to our improving ourselves in our Islamic practice. We all know that when we speak of self-betterment in the religion, we are not only talking about Salah, and the pillars. It actu-ally goes beyond that.

Betterment in the religion means the change that comes from a seed planted in your heart, which then blooms into a great tree. This means that once the change comes from within, the rest will follow.

We all know that we are not perfect beings. We sin, and we fail, and we make mistakes. Hence, no change for the better comes overnight. We keep slipping until we find our foot-ing. It takes time to water a plant and watch it bloom and takes a lot of hard work and resources, but in the end we see the fruit of our labor. Allah promises that if we turn to Him, He will reward us, and this is men-tioned numerous times in the Qur’an.

One such aspect of Islam is being

nothing but the best to our parents. Allay says in Surat Al-Isra, verses 23-25:

وقضى ربك أال تعبدوا إال إياه وبالوالدين إحساناا يبلغن عندك الكبر أحدهما أو كالهما فال تقل إم

لهما أف وال تنهرهما وقل لهما قوال كريما

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.”

ب حمة وقل ر ل من الر واخفض لهما جناح الذارحمهما كما ربياني صغيرا

“And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small."”

“Your Lord knows best what is in your inner-selves. If you are righ-teous, then, verily, He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who turn unto Him again and again in obedience, and in repentance.”


My mother is very dear to me, but I never truly had the feeling manifest itself in action until a few years ago. When I was 17, up until I was 24, I never truly appreciated her, or my parents, how they should be appreci-ated. And I still seek to better myself. Back then was very different. I would receive phone calls from my mother about 6-7 times a day when I was not around her and I would begin to grow frustrated to the point where I would be very direct and quick with her, and not want to ask her how she is doing. That is, until I moved out for school. When thathappened, the phone calls increased, but the separation cre-ated a longing to see her. The ayah, specifically the 23rd and 24th were vital in rewiring my behavior towards her, and my parents.

These are the people who live for me. These are the people who would go hungry, and feed me rather than see me sleep hungry. These are the people who have invested years of their time into me. And I cannot even ask them how they are? I do not even desire to have a conversation with them? When the phone calls grew more frustrating, these ayaat eventually changed everything.

I thought to myself one day: There are people in this world who do not even have parents. They do not have anyone to even ask how they are doing, and here I am wishing that I would not get phone calls? Should I

not be careful of what I wish for? Is Allah not the one who gives and takes away? Rather, I should be asking for more contact with my par-ents. I would rather have all my time occupied in their presence than have no time with them, or less time with them.

Soon, my behavior, about 3-4 years ago, started changing towards them. I started hugging them, and kissing them. The separation had taught me that we really do not know what we have until it is gone. And that time period away from them made me appreciate them, especially coupled with the command of Allah. Allah reminds us this because He knows we need to be reminded. He knows that there are Muslims that disobey their parents, and are not good to them. We have been told this because we are all guilty of falling short in this area. And for those of you who are striving hard in this, May Allah keep you on the right path. For me, and everyone else, may Allah allow us to be the best to our par-ents, because they deserve it.`

Our Ummah has been receiving blows of invasive waves into our mental domain, one of which is the atheistic wave, which in turn has caused such a chaotic discrepancy in the minds of the weak. Atheism is not new, but our Ummah’s fragility, carelessness and ignorance is. Amid this fragility & insecurity, a set of scholars have emerged lined up; having no purpose whatsoever but safeguard the fortress of Islam. And who is a better scholar than Shaykh Ahmad Deedat (rahimahuAllah) to discuss?

As for his start, Deedat was pulled out of school when he was sixteen. He started working in a shop facing a missionary complex, and those young missionaries used to attack him by asking him wicked questions to make him question his own faith. Instead of achieving their mission, they provoked his geniality and caused this knowledge bomb to explode, although he was not fully educated.

Deedat started educating himself and attending Islamic studies classes in which he managed to carry on from where his teacher left off. From here thereon, Ahmad

Deedat’s knowledge and popularity kept on growing.

While watching Ahmad Deedat’s lectures or debates, you cannot help but notice his relaxed attitude, sim-plicity in explaining facts, his wealth of information, steadfastness in the deen and that heart-melting smile that never leaves his face. His oppo-nent would have a loud voice, tense-attitude and a body-language of an enraged man, and Deedat would remain perfectly calm!

Indeed Allah the Almighty was truth-ful when He said:

وقل جاء الحق وزهق الباطل إن الباطل كانزهوقا

“And say, "Truth has come, and false-hood has departed. Indeed is false-hood, [by nature], ever bound to depart."” [Al-Israa:81]

Shaykh Deedat had many superb debates, but his most renowned one was with Jimmy Swaggart, an Ameri-can Pentecostal pastor. My personal favorite part was when Shaykh Deedat quoted from his opponent’s own book where Swaggart said: “The father is a person, the son isa person, the holy ghost is a person

but they’re not three persons but one person.” And then Deedat com-mented “What language are you speaking?!” Facing this cogent beast who used nothing but rational and logical proofs, when Swaggart was asked to prove Deedat wrong as he had proved that night that the Bible was not the word of God, he replied saying that the Bible was indeed the word of God and there’s no proof you can give for a non-believer as he won’t believe! And his proof was that Jesus had saved his soul. Yes indeed, Mr. Swaggart, a very satisfy-

ing proof!

In the end, Ahmad Deedat is another small ring in the chain of daawah that is prolonged to the time of Muham-mad (PBUH), the leader and ultimate teacher of daawah. And if we work conscientiously, we will be able to extend this chain decades ahead. We need to learn from every-one who has served this religion, brothers and sisters. We are indeed super, for Islam is the reason of our superiority. Islam has dignified us and the least we can do is try to repay it back. The solution to our calamity is within hard work and faith.

فينبئكم بما كنتم تعملون

“And say, "Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so, will] His Messenger and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."” [At-Tawbah:105]

1.Is watching TV haram?

It is never correct to just plaster “because Allah said so and this is bad” on any question of fiqh especially one which could be a source of good and bad. Technology is in no way haram BUT it can be a source of haram. When considering the programs that we are watching, we have to remember that our eyes and ears are pathways to our heart. “Between the eyes and the heart there is a connection which means that the one is affected by the other, and if one of them becomes good, the other will also become good, and if one becomes corrupt the other will become corrupt.”Our eyes and ears will testify for us or against us on the Day of Judgment, so it is not about whether the TV is haram but what you are watching.

2.I accidently committed a sin, what do I do now?

Actions are according to their intentions and you are judged upon that which you know. All people will make mistakes now and then, and commit sins here and there. We are to repent to Allah and ask for forgiveness, feel regret and to resolve within ourselves to not go back to the sin. We believe that God will forgive all sins, except for committing shirk. We are all sinners; the most beautiful sinner is the one who repents. Allah (subhanahu wa ta’aala) says:

حيم نوب جميعا إنه هو الغفور الر حمة الله إن الله يغفر الذ قل يا عبادي الذين أسرفوا على أنفسهم ال تقنطوا من ر

“Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."” [Al-Zumar: 53]

And He says:


حيما ل الله سيئاتهم حسنات وكان الله غفورا ر إال من تاب وآمن وعمل عمال صالحا فأولئك يبد

“Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” [Al-Furqan: 70]

3.How can I get ready for Ramadan?

The biggest mistake we make with Ramadan is coming in with all of these goals we wish to attain with no prep. You cannot go from barely reading the Quran to finishing the Quran or barely praying, to praying every voluntary prayer. Ramadan is a time of insurmountable blessings, so why not get ready for it? We have just about a month left before Ramadan, so let’s start preparing now. If you are not reading Quran every day now, start now by creat-ing a written plan of how much Quran you will read every day, with goal you must achieve before Ramadan and then re-evaluate your goals for Ramadan. If you are not praying, pray and slowly add on voluntary prayers, so by the time Ramadan comes around, you are ready! Lastly, evaluate the way you manage and spend your time, this is key to any success.

1. ما حكم قول اإلنسان في دعائه: "إن شاء الله" ، مثل : " إن شاء الله يوفقك الله " ؟

ال ينبغي لإلنسان إذا دعا الله سبحانه وتعالى أن يقول: "إن شاء الله" في دعائه، بل يعزم المسألة

له، وقد قال سبحانه وتعالى: (ادعوني أستجب الله سبحانه وتعالى ال مكره الرغبة، فإن ويعظم

لكم)، فوعد باالستجابة، وحينئذ ال حاجة إلى أن يقال: "إن شاء الله" ألن الله سبحانه وتعالى إذا

وفق العبد للدعاء فإنه يجيبه إما بمسألته، أو بأن يرد عنه شرا، أو يدخرها له يوم القيامة، وقد

ثبت عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال: "ال يقل أحدكم: اللهم اغفر لي إن شئت، اللهم ارحمني

إن شئت، فليعزم المسألة، وليعظم الرغبة فإن الله تعالى ال مكره له".

2. ما حكم قراءة، أو تحميل كتب منشورة على اإلنترنت، و ال أدري هل أصحاب هذه الكتب يأذنون في نشرها مجانا على اإلنترنت أم ال؟

اإلجابة : الغالب في النشر، والتأليف أن الحقوق األدبية تكون محفوظة للناشر، أو المؤلف -ما لم

يذكر غير ذلك- ، وانتشار الكتب على اإلنترنت ال يعني إذن أصحابها؛ لذلك فإن من يتحرى وجود

اإلذن ينبغي أن يتأكد من ذلك بالسؤال والبحث على أن بعض أهل العلم قد أجازوا نسخ المواد

المحفوظة الحقوق للنفع الشخصي فقط، بشرط أال يتخذ ذلك وسيلة للتكسب.

ما حكم االحتفال بـ ليلة النصف من شعبان ؟

يومها وتخصيص شعبان، من النصف بليلة االحتفال بدعة الناس: بعض أحدثها التي البدع من

مفيش حاجة أسهل من إنك تقرب من ربنا وتحس

بيه معاك في كل مواقف حياتك ... المهم إن أنت

تكون عايز تقربله، خد بس أول خطوة، اتجه له

وأنوي تعرفه أكتر، خد القرار ده ومش هتندم.

كلنا لما بنشوف حد متدين أو "ملتزم" زي ما

بنقول، بنفرح، حتى لو منعرفوش ... بنحس إن إحنا

مرتاحينله، وبيكون جوانا رغبة دفينة إننا نكون زيه،

بس الموضوع صعب ... هو إزاي بيعمل كده؟ إزاي

بيحرم نفسه من حاجات كتير هو بيحبها بس عشان

يرضي ربنا؟ لكن الموضوع مش بيكون كده ...

دايما الشيطان بيحاول يحسسنا إن التقرب من ربنا

ده حاجة صعبة وتقيلة، لكن كل ده بيتالشى أول ما

تقرر بينك وبين نفسك إنك عايز ترضي ربنا

حتى لو هتبدأ بخطوة بسيطة وحاجة إنت

شايفها صغيرة هيكون ليها تأثير كبير إنت أول

واحد هتحس بيه.

طيب أنا إزاي أقرب من ربنا؟ الطريق لربنا

منور وباين وواضح، بس إحنا اللي بنحاول

منشوفوش عشان خايفين منه ... طب إحنا ليه

خايفين؟ لو كان ربنا –عز وجل- بيدعونا إننا

نقرب منه وبيقول في الحديث القدسي: "إذا

تقرب العبد إلي شبرا تقربت إليه ذراعا، وإذا

تقرب إلي ذراعا تقربت منه باعا، وإذا أتاني

يمشي أتيته هرولة" وهو سبحانه وتعالي إلي

خالقنا وعارفنا أكتر ما إحنا عارفين نفسنا،

يعني مستحيل يطلب مننا حاجة إحنا

منقدرش نعملها أو حتى حاجة مش في

مصلحتنا. ده معناه إن كل اللي ربنا أمرنا بيه

بيكون لمصلحتنا ... يبقى مفيش داعي للخوف،

قرب منه ومتخافش، قرب منه وهو مش

هيسيبك، مش بس كده ده هيرحب بيك

وهيفرح بيك كمان، زي ما قال الرسول الكريم

محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم) في الحديث

الشريف: "لله أشد فرحا بتوبة أحدكم، من

أحدكم بضالته، إذا وجدها."

طيب، ده كله كالم ... نيجي بقى للفعل. إزاي

أقدر أقرب من ربنا واحدة واحدة؟ أول

حاجة الزم تلتزم في الصالة، ألن الصالة عماد

ة كلها فيه هم البالغ .. إن من عظيم أمنياتي يا صاحبي في هذه الحياة القصيرة .. أن أحيا يوما تحمل األموإني أدعوك أن ترافقني الطريق إلى أمنيتي.

بالغهذاإن كنت يا صاحبي تشاركني حمل هم هذا

الدين، و أحسبك كذلك، فال بأس في أن أبوح ي ... والله يا أخي إن من عظيم لك ببعض هم

الحسرات على نفسي أن أفتح كتاب ربـي و أقرأ

ل الفرقان على عبده ليكون (تبارك الذي نزللعالمين نذيرا)

أن أقرأ .. (وما هو إال ذكر للعالمين)أن أقرأ .. (وما أرسلناك إال رحمة للعالمين)

وأتساءل .. هل حقا هذا الفرقان أنذر العالمين؟! هل صار ذكرا للعالمين؟! هل هو حقا رحمة

للعالمين؟! هل وصل كما أراد الله له أن يصل ؟! والله إن مليارات على األرض لم يصلها عن

رنا .. وكم تخاذلنا .. لم اإلسالم حرف .. كم قصنرع األمانة حق رعايتها.

إن نعمة اإلسالم تكليف بقدر ما هي تشريف .. فالبشر مليارات ستة، والمسلمون سدسهم،

فالله اختارك واحدا من بين ستة من خلقه .. تشريفا لك وتكليفا باإلبالغ لغيرك. يقول تعالى:

قومـك .. وسوف (وإنــه لـذكر لك .. ولـتسألون)

أخبروني -بالله عليكم- كيف لرجل، رعا الغنم في جوف الصحراء وتاجر بالبضاعة في األسواق

منذ أربعة عشر قرنا من الزمان .. كيف له أن يا؛ ال يخبر بعدد مفاصل جسم اإلنسان؟! كان أميقرأ وال يكتب. و والله حتى إن كان أعلم أهل

األرض في ذاك الزمان .. ماذا كانت علوم قومه وعلوم ذاك الزمان .. حتى يخبر بعدد مفاصل جسم اإلنسان؟! هل لهذا معنى إال أنه خبر من

ى فيه هذه المفاصل؟! الذي خلق اإلنسان .. وسو

الحديث في صحيح مسلم .. قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:

"إنه خلق كل إنسان من بني آدم على ستين وثالثمائة مفصل"

والله إن هذا الذي بين أيدينا حق تـتصدع له الجبال .. ونور تظمأ لحاجته القلوب .. فلم الكسل؟!

ولم التخاذل ؟!

سمع أحد النصارى في إفريقيا قرآنا في اإلذاعة .. ولم يكن يدري ما هذا الذي يسمعه .. فسأل

اإلذاعة عنه .. فأهدوه نسخة مترجمة لمعاني القرآن .. أخذها و عاد في اليوم التالي مباشرة!

متجهم الوجه غاضبا .. قال : كيف تملكون (قل هو الله أحد) و نائمون بها؟! يجب أن تصل إلى كل

بيت! .. و أعلن إسالمه.

وإن أحد المسلمين الجدد، بعد ما ذاق حالوة اإليمان .. وعلم أن عاقبة من مات على غير

التوحيد النار .. جاء يصرخ و يبكي و ينتحب .. "أمي ماتت على غير اإلسالم! ولم تسمع عنه! من ة نائمة!" المذنب؟! أين كنتم يا مسلمين؟! .. يا أم

حينها يدور إلينا السؤال .. و إنها لحسرات .. قومـك .. وسوف ذكر لك .. ولـ (وإنــه لـ

تسألون). واهم من ظن يوما أن القدس وحدها قضية المسلمين .. ال يا سيدي ليست القدس

وحدها قضية المسلمين .. قضية المسلمين البرازيل واألرجنتين وكندا والمكسيك وأوكرانيا

وكرواتيا وأوروجواي وبيرو .. و كل شبر لم يصله
