These exercises are optional, and you may do them after you have gone through the entire program once. This accelerates release of judgment, which opens you to the deeper being.

2.5 Opening to Life ~ Conversations with Your Higher Self

These are very simple exercises that will have profound effects. They are each geared to cultivate a sense of openness and affirmation in life. Some are based on exercises for esoteric training in self-transformation given by Rudolf Steiner and elaborated upon in Enlivening the Heart Chakra.i Applied to situations, circumstances, and encounters with people, they can help entrain the mind to remain affirmative and open when the tendency is toward negativity and closed-mindedness.

Please take note that the purpose of these exercises is not to open yourself to being influenced by others, nor to lose your own discernment and perspective. Rather they are geared to open yourself inwardly—not outwardly—to spiritual revelation from life.

Each of the four suggestions given below requires that you ‘hold back’ from habit in thinking and feeling. It is an occult fact that when you hold back forces from ‘lower activity’, they will be transformed into higher faculties. Our tendency is toward the negative, separative patterns; this we learn from being ‘rejected’ to varying degrees in early childhood as well as by the inevitable experience of separation from mother. The result is that we do not allow life to inform us, and then we impose our misconceptions on life out of habit, not realizing that there is another way that will lead to ever higher enlightenment. Many people live out their childhood misconceptions for their entire lifetime! As Socrates unequivocally stated, “The unexamined life is not worth living"; we are not meant to live as adult-children,yet, this is the case for most people.

We create an ‘interactional field’ in our relationships with others. This ‘field’ holds the potentials that may unfold for the relationship. When we carry our unresolved past with us, we project it onto others through this field. Others do the same with us, and with close relationships that interactional field can be so densely enmeshed that illumination or higher frequency cannot penetrate. Then both parties may be at it for hours, and they would have been better off just going for a walk, separately. This is true even if they came to what they think is an ‘understanding’. If you’ve ever experienced feeling like someone brings the worst out in you, you are caught in a dense, enmeshed interactional field, tripping the booby-traps of your own woundedness. If you feel like the same issues come up again and again, then you can be sure that prior ‘understandings’ were deceptive. The only way out is to pry this field open by opening yourself to spiritual understanding. The following are suggestions to develop an attitude of affirmation and openness, which will get a great dialogue going between you and your deeper, true Self.

The True Self Emerging...1

Let us examine what the true Self is...we live as mere programs when we allow past coping patterns, knowledge, past standard, and even past experience that we term 'wisdom' to determine how we meet the present moment.

Only as the appreciative observer that is willing to participate from full awareness, are we giving the true self space to arise. When we do this, we move into a state of never-ending self-sustenance, because we are always shedding past standards for new. Whenever we shed the old, resources that renew our being are released.

When we are willing to perpetually express anew in the moment, then the eternal self will be revealed. All else is the ephemeral, changing identities that we mistake for true self.

Our divinity emanates through the full expression of our unique individuation. We are individuated by having a consciousness from a perspective, that has the potential to live in eternity. We are unique in that we are a specific template or pattern superimposed over the Infinite's DNA. As we allow true self to express, we really express a unique interpretation of Infinite's Intent that is the pattern that we are. All other expression leaves no room for divinity.

When we act by learned programs and social conditioning, our actions remain unexamined and we are living a programmed life with the agenda of fitting in. Only in surrendered trust can we know Infinite

Intent and begin to live our own life.

What to expect from continued practice:

Breaking the inertia and tendency to see the negative and to separate yourself

Brings greater awareness, mindfulness, and mastery into thinking and feeling

Feelings become liberated from the either/or of sympathy and antipathy—and they become more richly textured

A growing sense of openness to the world and goodwill to others

Heart chakra opening

Emancipation from consensus thinking, opens thinking to inspiration and intuition

Opening to spiritual revelation and divine grace

These exercises may not sound like much upon first glance, but carried out for a month, they will have a distinct effect, as described below. Consider these training in esoteric development. The effect is to one’s thinking and feeling that becomes freed of unconscious habits—free to be applied conscientiously to uncover divine reality. They work in subtle ways on many levels, and enable us to enter into the mystery of being.

“A feeling will creep into you as if your skin were becoming porous and your soul were opening wide to all kinds of secrets and delicate processes from the environment which hitherto entirely escaped your notice. When continued, this exercise gives a feeling of blessedness and great joy, as though you were expanding. This feeling is concentrated in the heart to begin with. When you sense this feeling, let it radiate out through your eyes, ears and the whole surface of your skin. Then, one day, you will have a feeling of inner bliss. You will experience yourself as outspread etheric body—love as an active force of feeling.”ii

The Four Practices can be summarized as follows:

1. Opening to a conversation with life – Holding back quick interpretation to allow a conversation with your deeper Self. You are to open to your deeper Self continually, asking it (you as deeper indwelling consciousness beyond agenda) to take command of your soul, your mind, and your life.

2. Affirmation – Cultivating positivity to break the tendency to negativity that separates you from yourself.

3. Mutuality - Opening to others’ views to allow yourself to explore truth from your uniqueness. When you dismiss quickly, you are operating from conditioning that is not you.

4. Freedom from conditions and comparing - Becoming neutral on effects to allow yourself to be in your life wholly and able to learn deeply from the lives of others.

Note how the purpose of each exercise is to open yourself inwardly to greater depth in being. However, a side effect of these practices is that you will be so much more open to others and able to bring out the best in them. This underscores the fact that what is for your highest good is for the highest good of others, and that there is no separation…

1. Opening to New Understanding

Firstly, you are to become cognisant of the fact that your deeper Self orchestrates life and thus communicates to you through life. When we resist life, it’s a one-way communication that we are unwilling to hear. The idea of this exercise is to start listening and then to get a conversation going. From the light breathing audio of week 1 and the exercises around that, you should have a good sense of your deeper higher Self2 behind your life. So we will build on that and establish ongoing conversation.

So for this week, whenever you feel closed-minded (judgmental, resistant, offended, hurt, or confused), start an inner dialog with your deeper Self by asking for clarity and then opening up to receive it. Still the separated mind and state mentally,

“I don’t understand how to be with this, but I’m open and willing to be with it. I surrender to what is, knowing all is perfection and illumination will come in divine timing”.

Your life is about you. When you stop resisting or reacting to the moment—stop thinking that others have to change or that what happened shouldn’t have happened, and so on— and allow higher understanding, that’s when you really ‘dance with life’. What this does is establish ownership in you of what is going on. It does not matter about the right or wrong of what has happened; all that matters is that you own the fact that you have reacted and closed off. You may not get instant clarity, but the act of moving from resistance/reaction to opening yourself to higher understanding is very important. Do this consistently and your life will shift profoundly.

We abort the conversation with life every time we impose the interpretation from the separated thinking mind on things that happen in life. Every time we are closed-minded is a lost opportunity for growth. When we are closed-minded, we impose our past conditioning on what transpires and don’t even bother to entertain what might be truly going on…or more importantly, we don’t allow for anything but the past to repeat itself. We then project our past on everyone around us. Just the simple process of acknowledging that we are reacting when we are closed, and then being able to own it and open up to be illuminated will change the habit of projection.

2 I have moved away from using the term 'higher self', because for most people this is a spirit 'program'. Spirit, soul, and body are tools that have operated antagonistically due to a lack of the 'true master' that is the indwelling consciousness. Spirit with its 'shoulds' is also a tyrant that does not lead to inner mastery. So I now use deeper, true Self, or indwelling consciousness. Please make the conversion where the old terminology is still present.

Over time you’ll notice that in situations for which you would normally be offended or defensive, you will be able to maintain openness and goodwill. Attaining to this is liberating!

What to avoid: Opening yourself to abuse or harm. It’s not about letting others affect you, but rather owning that this moment has come to you and you are being reactive. If someone is abusive, you are not to take the abuse, but rather to own that abuse has come into your life and that your quick interpretation and reaction are not useful and you can benefit from the deeper perspective of indwelling consciousness. You must take life personally, but not make it personal with others. In other words, no one makes you feel a certain way…. how you feel is under your control. In this manner is life about you, not others.

2. Affirming Something in Everything

In Persian poetry is a legend about Jesus, which illustrates the meaning of the quality of affirmation.

“Jesus was walking across a field with his disciples, and on the way, they found a decaying dog. The animal looked horrible. Jesus stopped and cast an admiring look upon it, saying, ‘What beautiful teeth the animal has!’ Jesus found within the ugly the one beautiful aspect.”

“Strive at all times to approach what is wonderful in every object of outer reality, and you will see that everything contains an aspect that can be affirmed. This course will lead you to the great ability to tolerate, and to an understanding of every thing and of every being.” iii

The fruitfulness in things is not in what is lacking in them, but in what they have.iv When you can see the existing positive aspects, tapping into the potential that can transform a negative situation becomes easier. For example, when we feel affirmed by others, we naturally strive for the best that we can be. And so likewise, when we affirm others and hold a vision of what lies as potential, we inspire them with that positivity. (I don’t mean necessarily to affirm them verbally, unless of course it’s appropriate.) While this may seem so obvious, very few people live by this observation. Affirming something brings a vibration of inclusion that promotes movement forward (it’s like opening a window in a malodorous room).

Seeing the Positive and Affirming All Life

On the spot: Whenever you encounter something—a situation, circumstance, object, or person—that creates a negative or unpleasant impression on you, you should attempt to see its positive aspects. Look for something that may be affirmed right now in the present. Allow your feelings to shift with the positive perception.

General processing: Look to situations or people that you feel antipathy or resistant towards. Look for something positive about the situation or person that may be affirmed right now in the present. Allow your feelings to shift.

What to Avoid

Positive thinking that is too general or not grounded in any real or truthful observation. (e.g. “Everyone is basically good”, “We’re all love”)

Bringing in the past unless it bears meaning to the present (e.g. “She can be so nice at times” has nothing to do with the present moment in which the person is being selfish and hurtful. But observing how she can be very forthright in her interactions may be a positive trait that applies to the present situation)

Losing your capacity for clear judgment—seeing the positive does not mean the other things are not present also

Judging all negative impressions as wrong, or defending yourself for having them

Focusing exclusively on the positive and denying that you see anything negative or simply overlooking (repressing) your negative thoughts and feelings

Rationalizations or comparisons as a counterfeit to positivity “At least he’s not physically abusive”, “Well I wouldn’t want to be in her shoes; so I should count my blessings”. This will do nothing to alter your level of negativity and bad feelings, and just discounts people in your mind.

Trying to negate the negative with a positive, or evaluating a situation and settling in compromise instead of true positivity. She’s selfish and hurtful but at least she’s up front and I know where I stand.

Complicating the exercise. The point it not to come to a conclusion about good or bad or about how you should feel about a situation or a person. It is simply to see something positive in everything when you are focused only on the negative.

Now you may be more confused than ever! Example, a friend talks about something irrelevant in a lively discussion among friends and you are hugely annoyed, thinking, “She always does that.” So you affirm (if it’s true), “She has a beautiful melodious voice.” So what you affirm does not even have to explain the situation; it just has to be something that can be affirmed without reservation. The point is not to evaluate things, but to break your habit of being drawn into negative perceptions. In affirming something when we are strongly focused on a negative ‘breaks state’. We are cultivating a new habit of affirmation.

Later in the program when we work with innocent perception, you will learn how to perceive things anew in a manner that reflects the deeper unconscious patterns playing out. In the above example, you might observe, “She wants to feel connected with others, and does that out of fear…feeling left out…needing to validate herself”. So rather than remain in annoyance, your Heart opens up in compassion as it perceives the wounds in another. But that is for later. This practice is aimed at shifting from negative perception to focusing on affirmation.

3. Releasing Resistance and Withholding Judgment

When we place our quick and ready meaning and interpretation on everything, we effectively block outer reality from making any kind of impression on us. By outer reality, I mean reality behind appearances. Being compelled to impress the self on everything in this manner comes from a need for validation and fear of overwhelm in life.

When we habitually and quickly respond with “I know that” or always counter with our own opinions, we block ourselves from learning anything more. In truth, all is unknowable as Infinite Intent is ever new. When we live within what we think we know, we live in fish bowl rather than in the ocean of Life. (We will look at opinions in another exercise, below).

When we identify with a fixed sense of self, we tend to dismiss all that does not validate that identity and its limiting beliefs. This we do through judgment. When we judge others we separate and condemn. Furthermore, all judgment of others is disguised self-judgment, as what we judge are the projected and disowned parts of the self at some level. We build identity around our strong points and deny what we are weaker in, for example.

The importance of being open towards others’ viewpoints is expressed by Jeshua in the principle and law of mutualityv, which is crucial to alignment with human freedom.

“Mutuality allows expansion and differences to occur in the universe or among humankind without loss of harmony. All communication is based upon this law. If there were no mutuality between two people, there would be no sense in talking. Neither person could understand the other. However, without different experiences or viewpoints to share, what would be the point of communicating?”

“The miracle of Truth is that it is unique for each and yet constant for all.”

Without mutuality, we imprison one another to fixed and rigid views and are unable to explore and experience life freely. When we don’t allow others their unique vantage point of life, we act as a suppressive force in life. And to the extent that we suppress others, we suppress ourselves. Every judgment of another fixes you to your own narrow views. On the other hand, through mutual understanding you are set free. “You do not have to serve the dreams of another. All you have to do is honor the other man’s right to dream, for in honoring his right, you honor your own. This is the blessing of mutuality.”

When we dismiss perspectives that differ from ours or dismiss people because of quick judgments, we violate this important law. It is not important that we adopt views of others, but only that we remain open to and respectful of them. Allowing ourselves to consider others’ opposing or challenging views can eventually lead us to greater clarity or expansion in our own. We become more tolerant, understanding, and less dogmatic and fearful. With less fear, we settle into who we are more deeply. If another’s views threaten our own, they are clearly upheld by fear. When you need to believe something,

you’re in fear. You can only gain true understanding of things when you are free of biases. Then you no longer need to believe, you simply do because you know it within your free being.

This exercise is intended to foster the capacity to be open and ready at all times in life, for new experiences, insights and greater understanding.

Exercises:For every external perspective to which you feel dismissive or judgmental, or that causes you to counter with your own views, hold back your judgment and refrain from speaking. Let yourself entertain that it might be true; allow the possibilities that you consider to broaden.

Imagine it true and play out the implications for you internally. What does it oppose of your beliefs? Is it truly an opposition, or might both be true from a higher vantage point? Try to attain this vantage point or allow that there may be one even if you cannot fathom it. Are you defensive, and if so what are you defending? Are your conflicting beliefs learned or experienced deeply? Now imagine the consciousness that you would need to hold those beliefs, or imagine how someone might believe that. Continue reflecting in a manner that opens you and broadens your horizons. This is not about trying to convince yourself, or figure out what is right or wrong…it’s about opening up to what you may never have considered.

If you feel strongly resistant and unable to entertain these questions, then simply say to yourself, something to the following effect: “Presently I cannot see how this could hold truth and if it did it would mean I am wrong in so much of what I hold true and dear. But I will entertain that the person with these views has a very different outlook and understanding of life from mine and perhaps feels as strongly about his/her views as I do mine. I will also entertain that what I know is a fragment of the whole mystery of life in the vast universe, and my experiences are incomplete. I experience consciousness in a certain way that another might not—even our faculties of cognition may be different. We are both consciousness partaking of the human experience and worthy of respect in this regard.”

If what you are resisting is an idea that seems unbelievable, then simply say to yourself “That could be possible under certain conditions. Moreover, I haven’t yet experienced everything that exists.”vi Follow by reflecting on conditions under which it may be possible.

What to avoid:

Attempting to make conclusions about what/who is right or wrong

Saying the situation does not apply because you feel justified in your views

Becoming defensive or feeling violated by the exercise—the point is not about the content of beliefs in any way. It is simply to open to new experience and become more accepting, less rigid, judgmental, and dismissive.

Becoming too gullible and thinking that everything everyone says is valid. It’s not about content, but rather perspective.

Please note that this exercise does not contradict the fact that opinions are of far lesser value than truth. You are not asked to entertain the unthinking thoughts of others, but rather to enter different perspectives out of which others may be speaking.

Discounting all personal experience as not being valid—while we cannot and should not eliminate our own experience of life, we should not allow that experience to be our only source of validation of ideas and of what is possible in life.

Fake openness: Being outwardly open, but inwardly resistant or detached, or feeling an exaggerated openness and ‘tolerance’ towards everything, with little or no thought upon which to base that openness. Generalities such as ‘to each his own’ falls under fake openness.

What to expect:

Less attachment to one’s own opinions; less inertia in one’s thoughts; greater flexibility of thought

Becoming aware when one’s thinking is too rigid. Becoming aware of defence and resistance as masking fear.

Increasing capacity and desire to see the truth

Increasing tendency to see points of commonality with others, rather than differences

Increasing capacity to learn from life and embrace new experiences

Greater acceptance and tolerance and less fear of others

Increasing capacity to see the connections between ideas and things in life

More active participation and connection with everything in life, understanding that one is enriched by entertaining the perspectives of others.

4. Becoming Neutral on Effects of this World

A fast way to self-transformation is to release attachment to conditions as well as the tendency to compare oneself with others. Without comparison, we do not self-reflect in the mirrors of opposites through others. We can then derive a sense of self through inner examination. Without attachment of self-reflection, we eventually can live without reference points, which is a state of perpetual self-regeneration.

The primary purpose of this practice is to live beyond comparison. A related practice is that of wishing the best for everyone around you. We will be working our way up to this latter goal, and the first step is achieving ‘right interpretation’ of conditions in people’s lives. We will talk about all these themes in the following discussions.

When you learn to continually wish blessings upon others, you open yourself to becoming an outpouring source of goodwill and blessings to others. You will feel expansive, magnanimous, and fulfilled. The energetics are such that you create a ‘pull’ on Source and become an outlet for divine blessing. This is a power of the emotional (astral) body, which is a major player in our ‘attraction factor’.

To do this truly, however, it may take some conscientiousness to clear envy, jealousy, self-judgement about deservability of others, and attachment to effects, etc. As well, what we generally consider as being blessed is often karmic lessons for others. For example, great charisma or attractiveness can make a person full of themselves (look at all the tragedies in the lives of movie stars); it then becomes a tremendous challenge to be humble and handle things with grace and wisdom. Similarly, when great wealth affects a person’s sense of self, it becomes much more of a challenge to them than a blessing. That is not to say that charisma or wealth cannot be blessings—sometimes it is and sometimes it isn’t; and when it is, it’s owing to the person’s strength of character and their active engagement in clearing tendencies of the lower nature.

Many Law of Attraction programs will tell you that when you see a wealthy or successful person, feel good for them in their opulence or their worldly success in order to attract it to you. Well that does not work for several reasons. Firstly, you can’t do designer-blessings on others for what you want, without creating a sucking motion on the world and fettering yourself to the world of effects. (This is further discussed in the notes on the astral body, below). Clearly, you are ‘blessing’ others in order to get something, and by that conditionality you do not have yourself. You can certainly manipulate the divine universal laws to satisfy the insatiable desires of the lower self, but this comes at great cost to your soul evolution.

Secondly, it does no good to bless others with ‘effects’ of this world, because you simply feed the misconception that the source of fulfilment comes from external conditions. Illness may be a true blessing for one person; wealth may be a blessing for someone and a curse for another. The best thing to bless others with is fulfilment and all-sufficiency from within.

The first step for now, is to stop judging conditions as good or bad in other people’s lives. Do not covet what another has—be neutral in that regard. Every one has conditions that can challenge and support their soul evolution. Embrace yours as perfect for you, and theirs as perfect for them…but do not judge one as desirable or good and another as undesirable or bad. Wish ever greater harmony for everyone.

Be open to being inspired by what others may have achieved out of their inner nature, and bless them with more of that. Inspiration is the act of being filled in by spirit. When you become open to being inspired by others in this manner, you will love to be around those who are truly successful in life

because their vibrational presence will entrain you to a higher vibration. You will love to be encouraging to others, because the synergy and higher vibration in the shared interactional field is wonderful.

Jealousy, envy, making things wrong in others, judging deservability, judging others for apparent lack, etc. close you off from blessings and the flow of grace. Desiring ‘effects’ repels spirit (more on this with the astral body discussion, below). Desire from lack begets more lack. You are the only one who gives to yourself in life, so cultivate fulfilment and joyful presence that you may give of yourself from a full and magnanimous heart—this will open you to receive as lavishly as you give.

So the first step is to reorient your perspective on ‘effects’ and your judgment of good and bad in that regard. Don’t judge a person’s level of awakening by the conditions in their lives. Know that conditions in everyone’s life suit their journey. Those who strive for awakening often must break through membranes of old programs for all, and will face great challenge at different times in life. Know that all has purpose, all serves, all is perfection from a higher vantage point. You do not have to know who it is perfect, but if you will deepn in surrendered truth, you must have faith in the benevolence of life and impeccability of divine timing. This attitude supports harmony in life. As you deepen in your experience of the Infinite source within, then you can take this to the next step of becoming a continual source of true blessing for others.

But more importantly, as you practice being neutral on conditions, you free yourself from desire for effects and chasing after them, as well as from comparing yourself with others. You will increase in emotional equanimity and detachment from the impermanent, and you will be free to embrace your life more completely without making it wrong. You will also be able to learn deeply by observing the lives of others without biases of the false self. We are here to maximize experience of this realm—whether from deep observation of life or through personal experience. We can live lifetimes of experience through observing others deeply, but this is only possible from the self that is non-attached and completely open.

What to avoid:

Do not talk yourself out of envy, saying things like “Well their wealth, success, ease, etc. is probably a karmic challenge...” Do not evaluate conditions in another person’s life…”He may have success but he does not have a good relationship with his children”. The purpose is to stop your evaluation from the thinking separated mind, to perceive effects in a new way, and to become open to deeper truth and wisdom…

Do not repress your negative emotions (envy, sense of unfairness, etc.) if they are there! Don’t view negative emotions as failure with this exercise. (I consider every discovery of my lower nature as an important revelation on the path of deeper awakening—you can’t purify what you don’t know is there…and refusing to see it does not make it go away.) Work with where you are with things without self-judgment. Ask spirit for the true fulfilment of your needs if this is the case. The vertical-awaring process in week 3 will help you to shift this at deep levels.

2.6 Beliefs and Assumptions About Life Exercise

The RI-2 audio contains such depth of understanding of what free will means, how we create our experience of life, and how beliefs play into this. Free will was not intended for us to get lost, but rather is the necessary foundation for the birth of co-creators. Pain that results from misalignment was given to us as a blessing…as a stimulus to realign ourselves. But we are here in this shared experience, and our misalignment causes pain to others—not only to ourselves. And we become misaligned through the beliefs that we adopt.

What we want to focus on in this exercise is becoming more conscientious in beliefs. Our beliefs act as our most ardent desires for life! Yet many of us believe according to what we were programmed to as children. We often believe according to caregivers, which from our present adult perspective, we know are far from being wise. But even with wise caregivers there may be beliefs that we’ve adopted wholesale—without truly making it our own, and so those beliefs too will act in a limiting way on us.

We manifest reality according to what we believe, or what we have blind faith in. We will experience the reality of our blind faith—in life and beyond—until we change our minds. Some of our beliefs are painful, and our blind faith is then in a world of pain…

You will experience a life of your beliefs. What you have faith in is what you will manifest and experience.

This exercise is to surrender limiting beliefs and allow all beliefs to open up to infinity. Any belief that has inherent limitation is not ultimate truth and is not supporting you to know your true nature. The only beliefs that you want are those that act as portals to deeper and deeper self…greater and greater expansion into your god self. All else leads to the false path of illusion. Just think of beliefs as the means with which to choose what reality to bind yourself to. Surprisingly, we spend little time contemplating on how to best utilize this power granted to us! You will manifest according to your beliefs, just as surely as the sun will rise each and every morning that you dwell upon this planet.

Understand that the purpose and power of beliefs is to experience different realities so that you can know and be the cause for what expands and makes your heart sing. It is to have the freedom to choose this, so that your love carries the power of choice. You have the potential to know yourself as the Infinite…from having the ability to know yourself outside of It. You could never internalize something consciously, unless you had the experience of that something being apart or outside of you. You could never appreciate the gift of life, were it not for having experienced the deadening effect of misalignment. Mankind was guided to belief in the ancient past because we were as children in our consciousness—but this is no longer. We have been in the incubation chamber of the 'matrix' with its beliefs past its time. We must allow it all to dissolve, in order that may be birthed into the true divine reality and enter into wakefulness.

Consider whether you believe that security comes from having external things (money, possessions, job, etc.) For the one who has found the source of security within, loss of external things presents only a temporary challenge, and will soon reappear in some form or other. If you believe the external to be the source, then you have ‘blind faith’ in matter…the master of money. You do not have blind faith in the Infinite Being as your source when you also believe that outer conditions can threaten you. You may find loss hard to face…and you may experience fear through them—but if you are willing to go deeper within as a result, you will put your faith in the Infinite. If you are in a tailspin of worry over it and chase after effects, then you put your faith in something other than God.

We are told that there are three habits that have caused great distortions to persist in our reality, with grave consequences to our evolution. These are to do with our belief in future.

1- Anticipating the future instead of enjoying the moment. For example, you may feel sad that your child is leaving for college soon, when you might enjoy a perfect day together right now.

2- Looking at the resources of today and envisioning that the future has to be planned around today's resources. “Exponential increase in supply comes to those who trust that their being can call it forth.”

3- Workload tends to be measured in chunks. We think we have so much work to do in the next month, for example, and we feel overwhelmed or stressed by that. In reality, the only work we have is that of the moment. And when we enter into it with a glad heart, then it is experienced a a seamless part of the life we are creating.

All limiting beliefs are lies, and believing in lies has grave consequences to life. For example, when we believe in duty and responsibility, we lose the joy of a spontaneous life. Without joy, we invite all manner of parasitic things into our reality, and we strengthen the veils between our reality and the reality of those beings that have much to reveal to us.

Do you believe in guilt and shame? Or do you believe in your innocence? If you habitually judge yourself or others, you are in separation consciousness? Does the belief that you must judge yourself for your imperfections serve you? What if you believed in your inherent innocence, and so-called mistakes express misunderstanding….not realizing who you are…not being your true self and not understanding life. There are no mistakes—there is the perfect unfoldment of life that meets you where you are in understanding. Are you willing to understand more deeply now? Which belief inspires you: believing in your innocence or that you are wrong and imperfect? When you live in innocence, then life opens up as an adventure of deeper self-discovery, and you are then willing to take risks and express in new ways.

Consider also that you bind yourself to what you judge. Release belief in judgment, belief in guilt and shame, and belief that regret serves. Regret presupposes that past is real, but there is only the moment unfolding, and its fullness is revealed when you release all power you have given to the past. What you regret, you may express anew in this moment, and when you do, the ghosts of the past are

reformed. You rewrite the past by the present. Have eyes only for goodness, beauty, and truth, and soon all the ills of the world will no longer trigger you into indignation and judgment, but rather open your heart to greater compassion.

Do you believe that it is good to look after your needs just as much as the needs of others? Do you believe you must earn God’s love and good graces?

Examine your beliefs from all angles and areas of life, and go into stream of consciousness around beliefs to uncover what’s there. Ruthlessly eliminate all that is not expansive and inspiring.

After you’ve uncovered the more obvious things, challenge yourself to go more deeply….

Do you feel beautiful? Are you adopting external standards in that regard? Are you in awe at who you are and what you are becoming conscious of within? How do you carry yourself in life…and what might that express about the beliefs about yourself? What would you need to believe in order to carry yourself with grace and confident presence? Feel into all this…

Are you in a pendulum swing with humiliation and pride? Can you embody great genius with humility? Do you believe that God is within you…or that you have to earn that state?

Go deeply and honestly with this exercise—your very life depends on what you believe!

Exercise to Uncover and Reprogram Beliefs

What are the beliefs and assumptions that you live by right now. Explore around the things discussed above and use that to get going…

List all beliefs that you hold present.

E.g. People who work hard are better than those who don’t.You make your bed and lie in it.Having to earn every dollar that let in.Life is quiet despair…have to just bear things…Everything happens for a reason…so I have to bear it.Good guys get shafted.Life works out smoothly when you are good.Bad things happen as karmic consequences for past misdeeds.Life happens to you, and you have to make the most of it.Have to earn God’s love.We are limited by our past.Have to just live with my flaws; certain things can’t be changed.We are all equally good in essence.

Read your beliefs and feel the life that would emerge from that? Does that match your life well? Be sure you’ve captured all beliefs that would explain your present life.

For each belief, write down next to it how expansionary and freeing it feels. Bring the belief in you…state it and feel within, and rate the expansionary level on a scale of 0-10. Also tune in and see if you need to believe that belief. What if it were not true? Just explore.

For each belief that is less than 10 on the expansionary scale, cross it out and write down a new belief that is open to infinity. Just allow readability to remain when crossing it out, just so that you can get a before and after snapshot at the end of the program.

expansionary in that life is fixed…

“Life evolves out of my growing consciousness that merges in the Universal Mind of Infinity, and I am called upon and entrusted to make the most and better of it…like an artist painting a canvas…I can make it as expansive and wondrous as I can imagine…” might be an 8

“…and I do so in co-creative partnership with the Infinite Being….” brings it to a 10

Go over all beliefs and rewrite them to the most expansive that you can allow yourself to believe. If you won’t yet believe the most expanded version, write a bridging belief that might get you there.

Reread the new expansive beliefs, and feel into each one. See if there is resistance. If so, make note of that. After going through all beliefs, gather up all the resistance that you experienced, and bring it into the Void meditation for the week. In step 9 when you feel yourself within the Great Awareness of God, and surrender everything so that only God’s awareness of you is ordering your body and life, allow God to reorder your beliefs to the highest possible vibrational level. Focus deeply on having new consciousness take hold of all aspect of your life.

Another suggestion is to keep your list of expansionary beliefs near your bed, so that you can affirm them in the morning, and also contemplate on them before going to sleep, asking your Higher Self to support you to anchor them in deeply through dreams. Experiencing new realities in dreams is a sure way to anchor them in deeply and to know that you have made the shift.

2.7 Taking care of ‘me too’ ~ Solar Plexus Power to Support an Open Heart

Many ‘lightworkers’ too often ‘give of themselves’ at their own expense. But this can be rectified with conscious acknowledgment of your importance too—in fact, you are the most important factor in your reality because everything emanates from you. If you were not here, your life would not exist either…you are the center of your life…the force that creates your life.

Nothing can come into being in your reality—the interactional field that you have around you— unless it is ‘owned and acknowledged’ within you. Therefore, it is spiritual law that you can’t give to others what you yourself are not conscious of having. As we strive for selflessness, taking care that the self has what is valuable to give is even more critical.

If you give to others at your own expense you have an agenda…maybe you give to be good, to feel good about yourself, to feel wanted, approved of, because you ‘should’, etc. Conditional giving is really giving nothing of value; or rather it is giving what you yourself do not have to give. This will only seed resentment that will be in full bloom when others don’t appreciate you as you had expected.

When you give to others and not to yourself, you operate outside of the truth of Oneness, and you will deplete yourself and all life around you. You cannot truly give to others what you do not yourself receive in abundance. You don’t have to have what you give before giving it, but you have to be able

to receive it in order to flow it from Source. You must take care of yourself first; otherwise you operate from the false self.

When you feel acknowledged, validated and powerful within, it is far easier to be generous, magnanimous, and of goodwill. Acknowledging yourself as important is necessary before you can truly become selfless. It’s somewhat of a paradox, because as you evolve to selflessness and embrace ever larger concerns, the ‘personal self’ becomes rather irrelevant. However, that is only possible when the indwelling consciousness has power to impact in this world, and that power comes from being centered firmly in the self.

The more that you recognize that God seeks to express in you, the more you will realize just how important you are to reality. God does not favor one soul over another, and when you ‘favor’ others

over yourself, you create imbalance and become ineffectual. In effect you say, “not through me God, through another”. And yet that other is probably doing the same or is shut down…and so God cannot find expression through his Sons.

Self-acknowledgment brings power to the solar plexus—the bridge between the lower energy centers and the Heart. So taking care of personal power will go a long way in soothing the needy inner child, as the Heart forces will be able to reach to those lower centers.

For this week, feel increasing power in your solar plexus through the breath of fire exercise suggested in week 1. As you

do breath of fire, feel that you are willing to be more present and take greater ownership of your life. Release all blame and anger at others, and all excuses that you may have had up to now. Feel that your individuality is waking up and this will provide the foundation and support for the Heart to open more profoundly. And use the following trigger affirmations to support this further. Start with the “Me Too” triggers, and when you feel them in you, you may add the affirmations for Other.

Me Too:

I am valuable in creation.All that I radiate out to others, I am within.I give to myself to the point of overflowing what I have within out into the world.I am a unique and wondrous aspect of the One.Through my individual perspective of All That Is, I add perspective and beauty to creation.I am an important and valuable expression of the One.I am here to be uniquely myself.I allow myself to learn and grow from mistakes and challenges. I choose only beliefs that uplift, inspire, and expand my sense of true self.

2.8 Valuing Truth over Opinion to Enter Warp Speed Evolution

Cultivating a love of truth that is the objective of much of this work will engender a feeling for truth. If love opens the door to heaven, then truth is the door. As you begin to feel truth, you will increase in discernment and then be able to hear and follow inner guidance. Inner guidance narrows the options and reveals the beeline to the surest path of accelerated evolution. Your ability to hear inner guidance is only as good as your affinity and attunement to truth.

When you commit to truth, you will soon drop all defensiveness, rationalizing, judgment of situations and people, and so on. In fact, all bad habits in thinking will eventually transform on your love and devotion to truth. Truth is the spiritual power of thought. Another way of stating this is that thinking was made for truth. The thinking faculty was created to behold truth, and it evolves on truth. In week 3 you will learn about the head glands, which are really glands to behold Spirit. As we utilize them in this manner, our spiritual power works into our body to evolve it. When we use thinking for lies, we adulterate this power and it becomes vulnerable to the forces of chaos that lead to devolution. Our thinking then serves our own demise. This is the reason that we are focusing on shutting down the separated mind and reaching into the depth of our spiritual nature in order to think anew and heal the rift between our human self and our soul/spirit self. Our evolution depends on it.

Opinions are not truth

Opinion is something we believe we should have, and so we develop the bad habit of forming ‘opinions’ or ‘judgments’ about everything and anything. We listen to others’ opinions and adopt them readily. We attribute ‘expert’ status to those who have studied the opinions of other ‘experts’ and regurgitate them in their work. One who does according to others’ opinions is an automaton. And that too is how the forces of chaos seep in.

We each have a unique divine perspective. Think of God as the substance of diamond, and we are each a unique diamond cut from that One original diamond. Each diamond will reflect the light in unique patterns when it allows itself to be revealed. No one is an automata or a clone, and when we operate as one we conceal God from Himself. Not to say that we cannot inspire and influence one another—a bright diamond can reflect rainbow patterns onto another diamond and the result will be even more interesting reflections. But the only radiations from the diamond self are what we ourselves have come to know within. We can take in the light of others, but it will only reflect from our being when it has become revelation within. Opinion does not run to the core of our being, and opinion of others does not have the power to expand us.

Others may have knowings that we have not experienced yet. This is different from opinion. The Buddha spoke truths that came from knowing. While you may not understand the noble truths, they are different from opinions. All truths or knowings have the effect of expanding those who will work with them. So it’s not a matter that whatever we don’t know, we must dismiss. But truth acquired by another sounds different than opinion. So it’s not that we must value only what we already know as truth, but we must learn to discern truth (from opinion) even if it has not yet become knowing in us.

We live in a fast-paced culture and no one takes time to really ponder on things. But the true ‘speed of life’ that we are called to rise up to has to do with acceleration in our vibratory light—not fast-pace outer life. Everything in our culture is the inverse of what it should be. We need to speed ourselves up within, and paradoxically, that means going deeper…outwardly slowing down, but inwardly quickening ourselves to accelerated evolution. Knowing comes from depth of being…whereas opinion is shallow. In the moment of a new ‘knowing’, your life rearranges…the field of future potentials is recreated, the past is reframed, and you and the world are made anew. This is true warp speed evolution. And you get there by emptying all you thought you knew…all you thought that you were…and slowing down within…becoming like the child that is in eager curiosity and wonderment at the world around it.

Interestingly, when you decide you want to know the truth and only the truth, and you persist and do whatever it takes, eventually you will hear your thoughts and the thoughts of others. They will run almost as if in slow motion. You will have all the time in the world that you need to fully comprehend everything you want to in the world. Time emerges from you when you align with spirit.

Steiner said that the man of the future would be in agony in the present-day world (that was in 1920s already), because he will be so attuned to truth that the level of untruth would be experienced as a torture in the body. This attunement needs to develop now. Not that we want pain, but we need to have the greatest discernment in times of greatest deception. And the best way to start is with stilling the separated mind that really knows very little of anything. The exercises on becoming open will also invite revelation, as will moving away from all opinion.

Nix opinions. Only speak out of what you know. Question yourself about this. Hearing opinion of another that sounds reasonable is not knowing. When you speak out of knowing, you’ll find you speak a lot less and you’ll listen to the subtle flows of conversation, situations, etc. to a much greater degree. You will also be more open—not so quick to judge and dismiss. This is not gullibility, but rather the expression of an open spirit. An open spirit is necessary in order to evolve. From the stillness and openness, you will find yourself uttering words of wisdom you did not know you had…and you will know their truth by how they feel in your body.

If you catch yourself expressing an opinion, pause and ask yourself how you came to that…who told you that…how did you get that notion…and do you KNOW this as highest truth? If not, take it back. You can say, “Actually I don’t know that…I heard someone express that and it sounded plausible…”, or simply, “I take that back…I don’t actually know that”. Unless the source is one that you believe speaks out of knowing or you have come to know what they have said yourself, then it’s best to not spread limited understanding or half-truths.

Neutralize opinions of others in you. Cut out all sources of opinion (e.g. media). You can glance at things to get major events around the world if you wish, but skip over opinions on situations. When someone has an opinion, note it as such. You do not have to challenge the person on it, but you must be impeccable with what you take in to your mind, because popular opinion leads to group-think of the collective consciousness.

Awaken an aesthetic sense in conversations with others such that you appreciate and have affinity for other’s wisdom and knowing, and you neutralize what is mere opinion. At first, you will value truth over opinion, and in time you will discern what is empty opinion and what represents true striving to know.

Do not judge the person with opinions…keep your aesthetic sense apart from the person. The purpose of this is not to alienate, or become mistrustful or arrogant; rather it is to be vigilant about what you take in as belief, and become attuned with truth and knowing exclusively. Expect to have a bit of a time adjusting to things, as so many people have opinions about everything and they often need to convince others too! Have some fun with it…keep it light when you can, and best to keep it to yourself.

This exercise cultivates freedom in thinking, as you become conscientious in not allowing things to program you. Truth does not ‘program’—it become seeded and grows within.

Nightly Review:You can include this practice in the nightly review of the day’s events, feeling into the conversations of the day and eliminating from your mind all that was mere opinion. Call back all that you expressed as opinion, ask that it be neutralized in its effect on others. Feel a new reverence for the spoken word, which is a creative and potent faculty.

When you speak only what you know to be true and become increasingly impeccable in this regard, your words will also carry far greater potency. You will learn from discussions on the senses that when we ‘hold back’ energies in a faculty, deeper abilities within it can emerge.

2.9 Stilling the Astral Body (Contemplation) & Guy Finley Audio Talk

This is not an exercise, but rather something to be aware of. As you work with the material in the program, you will be developing your light body. And the first step in that direction is the transformation of the astral or emotional body. As you work with opening yourself up to the world in order to open to spirit within, you will increasingly recognize that life is a dance between the indwelling consciousness and spirit. As indwelling consciousness becomes more and more aware of its spiritual nature, it orients all focus within, and the outer world of effects loses its importance.

This does not result in lack of interest in the world—quite the contrary, as interest in the things of this world dissipates, interest in spiritual revelation from the world increases. Life experience becomes more rich and colourful, relationships deepen, gratefulness abounds, and so on. There is no end to the evolution that we can achieve as embodied souls who awaken to reality.

Imagine a world in which everyone takes only what they need, and everyone is moderate in this regard, wanting to ensure that others are amply looked after. In this world, having things beyond what is needed or loved or used to spread joy to others is not even considered. The main preoccupation for people in this strange world is that everyone is well cared for and happy.

When a beautiful vista is discovered, for example, the tendency would be for the discoverer to create a comfortable spot that provides the best vantage point for others to enjoy the vista, rather than trying to own that piece of land for personal use only.

The highest calling is to discover myriad treasures and gifts within and to bring them to expression to wow others with the magnificence of being that demonstrates the glory of the Creator. All seek to discover the highest and best within themselves because they know that others will also be ignited through that. And all are willing to give of themselves to support others to discover and cultivate their own magnificence within. All those capable are also willing to do extra to support those who find themselves compromised in any way. No one is happy until all are happy, and all is done for the joy of

serving the Creator, evolution, and all within.

This world is the world of the higher order future that is a potential on the horizon. It will not appear overnight or without effort, however, and it must be anchored within individuals who will act as forerunners…as the grail cup… holders of the ineffable light. The more incarnated people who do this, the more will humanity have a toehold into that future that is really the only option in moving forward.

In order to reach this state of selfless and higher vibrational being, we must learn to still the astral body (among other things). This is done through the following:

1. Stilling emotionality and negativity (which you are working on through these exercises)2. Stilling endless desire for things…desire for effects of the world…its illusory comforts…and

orienting all desire to spirit3. Stilling all neediness and recognizing God within as Source of all that you have need 4. Clearing enmeshment with others and attachment to outcome in situations and relationships

(from underlying fear)

When you do the above, your astral body becomes a radiant egg-shaped energy field that surrounds your body. You become strongly magnetic to those of like values and orientation, and it then becomes easier to sustain and enhance this way of being. The state of your astral body determines your community to a large extent. Not only does it determine your community in life, but also your community in spirit realms on your nightly journeys in sleep.

Your orientation to spirit during the day, through thinking, feeling, word, and deed, is imprinted in the emotional/astral body and from those energy imprints do you choose the company that you keep at night. The lower astral realm of the earth is rife with unpleasant entities due to the immense fear and greed in our world. Your immunity to their influences comes from what you fill your astral body with during the day. When you follow the above steps, you will rise above the lower astral like a helium balloon and rest in higher levels of pure light, from which you will draw higher love and light energies to support you to create a higher order life.

We are working on clearing and harmonizing the astral body through the course of the program. Know that as you deepen your sense of fulfilment from within and operate from deeper consciousness, you are naturally stilling the astral body. As the astral body transforms in this manner, you begin creating the Manas body or Spirit-Self body that is the first level of transformation to your body of light.

As you develop the Manas, you will find that your needs are met by God—it is then that all that appears as effects in your life are manifestations of God’s presence flowing through you.
