• Central Government drive towards Big Society challenges Local Authorities to increase the involvement of the Third Sector and Communities in service development and delivery
• Reduced resources to Local Authorities with a requirement to identify local priorities in order to effectively target funding where it is needed and improve outcomes for children, families and young people
• Less regulation, more creativity and innovation

from being a provider of services towards becoming an effective commissioning authority
• Focus on improving Safeguarding services in response to OFSTED recommendations

website• Provides greater access to public sector contracts in Cornwall• Launched 1 March 2006 • Over £1 million of contracts posted in the first 3 months • Over 300 contracts advertised since launch
