Dear Members,
Let the fall fun of October begin and
PROST to some great OktoberFest
activities!
If you are planning to attend the
St. Joseph’s Oktoberfest on Sunday,
October 7th starting at 12pm…parking is
available at the Phoenix Club.
Let’s not forget about our Fix It Satur-
day on October 13th and our Annual
Homecoming All Day event on Saturday,
October 20th. More details can be found
on the next page.
Thank you as always goes out to all of
our volunteers for the month of Septem-
ber, as we can never do any of this with-
out YOU; from kicking off our Monday
Bingo nights to the fantastic Sunday
Tailgate parties. There were lots of great
specials during our Fish & Steak Fry Fri-
days and wrapping up our last two Satur-
day night events with the Wood Sign
Paint & Sip Party and the infamous
Outdoor Bowling!
The Nominating Committee has been
introduced and if you didn’t get a chance
to attend the General Membership Meet-
ing, the Committee includes: Joan
Dodson, Chairperson, Pat Burns, Jules
Owen, Randy Korstick, Bob Miller, Ray
Melby and Mel Oros. This committee will
be looking for those individuals that are
interested in volunteering as our Phoenix
Club Officers and Board of Trustees.
These position descriptions can be found
on the bulletin board or just ask one of
the Committee members for the informa-
tion. You are more than welcome to
approach them and share your interest
and be sure to let them know why you
think you would be a great candidate for
that specific position. The nominees will
be posted on Wednesday, October 17th,
which is the next General Membership
meeting. If your name is not posted on
that day and you are interested in run-
ning for a position, please ask the bar-
tenders for a petition form. You will then
need to have 20 members in good stand-
ing sign the form. This form cannot be
taken out of the club.
We are updating some of our Standard
Operating Procedures and one of the up-
dates is how the Membership Application
Process works. Applications can be
handed out by the bartenders, however,
they must be returned to an officer, board
member or Jules, the Manager. This will
ensure that all of the information is filled
out properly and that photos are attached
to those applications. These forms cannot
leave the club.
As a reminder, we ask that members and
guests do not smoke in front of the
Dining Room Entrance. The smoking
area is over near the picnic tables and in
front of the Pool Room Entrance.
I have a small request before I sign-off…
Please be sure to clean off your table be-
fore leaving the club. You can let your
guests know it’s what we do at the
Phoenix Club. Thank you.
Wishing you all a SPOOKTACULAR
October!
Very best,
Lisa Linden
