Giving to Children’s Aid Foundaon through United Way is a wonderful way of supporng thousands of abused, neglected and abandoned children and young people across Canada. Today, 67,000 young people across Canada live in foster homes or residenal facilies. Their parents have been absent physically or emoonally, and many have witnessed violence, sexual and drug abuse, and experienced poverty. Approximately 235,000 more are receiving supports and services from child protecon agencies. Since 1979, the Children’s Aid Foundaon has worked to bridge the gap between what the government is able to provide and what these children need in order to heal and become healthy adults. Your support makes a difference! Supporng the Children’s Aid Foundaon through United Way-directed giving, is a cost-effecve way to invest in the success of Canada’s most severely disadvantaged children and youth. It is only together that we can help abused and neglected kids and young people access the resources they so desperately need to heal, thrive, and move forward toward brighter futures. Your generosity provides vital support in the areas of educaon, enrichment, healing & recovery and prevenon. How can I direct my United Way donaon to the Children’s Aid Foundaon? DIRECTING YOUR DONATION IS EASY! On paper: It can be made by compleng the back/reverse side of the United Way pledge form (see sample on reverse side) and indicate that you would like to direct all or a poron of your donaon to Children’s Aid Foundaon. Please write in our full name in the “To another Canadian registered charitable organizaon” secon along with the Children’s Aid Foundaon’s Charitable Registraon Number: 108076480RR00001. Online: You can make a workplace campaign donaon through your United Way @work. Please fill out the “To another Canadian registered charitable organizaon” secon and search for our Foundaon by entering CAF’s Charitable Registraon Number: 108076480RR00001. How will the donaon get to the Children’s Aid Foundaon? The United Way sends all designated funds to CAF on a quarterly basis with noficaon of who the donor is and the type of donaon (one-me, payroll, stock transfer, monthly, pledge payment). Your workplace campaign payroll deducons will be sent as part of this transfer. Is there a fee to designate my funds from United Way to CAF? Yes. United Way charges a designaon fee to cover the costs associated with the processing and reming funds to other charies. The fee varies between each United Way office and on average is approximately $12 maximum. United Way directly receipts donors for the full amount of the donaon and CAF also recognizes the donor for the full amount. Will I get a tax receipt for my donaon? Yes. One-me giſts will receive a tax receipt following the donaon. Giſts made as part of a workplace campaign by payroll deducon will have the donaon recorded on the T4 statement from your employer.
