Suprasil® 130 –Synthetic Quartz Glass Tubes for UV Applications
Ultraviolet technologies are becoming more and moreimportant in technical applications. Disinfection andcleaning with ultraviolet light is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to conventionally usedchemical processes. As a result UV disinfection and UVcleaning technologies are becoming important in drinking,waste, ballast and process water treatment. Furthermoredeep UV light is used to generate ozone from oxygen in theambient air. The ozone itself efficiently oxidises pollutionin the air. Examples are cleaning of exhaust air anddestruction of airborne grease in commercial kitchens at185 nm. UV light helps to increase process reliability andlowers the costs of operation.
