Local routesThere is a dedicated cycle route along the sea wall between Huttoft Steps and Mablethorpe (approx 8 miles round trip). Country lanes in the area are flat and lead to outlying villages.

LincolnCombining a rich history with independant boutique shops, great arts and culture and a wealth of lovely eateries, this city is easy to get around and offers so much to see and do.

HorncastleBe captivated by the endless beauty of this thriving market town, and visit some its popular antique outlets, coffee houses, artisan shops and galleries.

Take the walk from the site entrance round the back of the site and down to the beach huts, then pay a visit to the Fat Seagull for a spot of lunch .

You don’t really need a car here for a quiet break, you can walk to the beach and Sutton-on-Sea. The bus goes further afield to local towns and Skegness.

The flat surroundings make this an ideal spot for exploring by bike.

Head to Gibraltar Point for great birdwatching.

We recommend the Sea Breeze Restaurant, a great place to eat.

On Wednesday nights, a fish and chip van came to site - it was delicious and the serving size was just right.

Head to Lincoln to see the castle, cathedral, Aviation Heritage Centre and lots more. Check the council website for details of the Park & Ride.

The beaches around here are lovely, and have dog-friendly areas.

Farmer Browns Ice Cream Parlour serves delicious, home-made ice cream, and also has a lovely cafe.
