Suzlon One Earth, is a one of its kind, a Platinum LEED

certified campus, with unique features that make it stand

for the very purpose it was built.

Suzlon One Earth is 100% powered by a combination of

onsite & offsite renewable energy sources. Out of this, 6%

of the total energy consumption comes from 18 onsite

hybrid wind turbines, solar panels & photovoltaic cells and

the remaining is from offsite wind turbines.

– The solar water

heating systems are used for a heating capacity of

10,000 liters per day at One Earth, saving more than

1.4 L kWh of electricity annually.

– At One Earth air

conditioning and cooling systems used are free of Chloro

Flouro Carbons (CFCs), Hydro Chloro Flouro Carbons

(HCFCs) and Halons (compounds threatening to the

protective ozone layer). The refrigerant being used is with

Zero Ozone Depleting Potential.

– Energy efficient air

conditioning systems at One Earth are flexible in cooling as

per the type and requirement of space thereby reducing

the overall power consumption.

– Sensors and modulating

dampers used in densely occupied spaces for monitoring

CO2 levels allowing additional inflow of fresh air as the

CO2 level rises above certified limit.

– Louvers are designed to

provide efficient screening of sunlight without hindering

the view, thus reducing heat dissipation and aids sufficient

cooling.

– Daylight sensors are

used in work areas for optimized use of artificial lighting.

Occupancy sensors control task lighting in unoccupied

workstations ensuringsavings of about20%of energycosts.

– Jet fans installed at the

basements intermittently push out stale air and bring in

fresh air, saving 50% energy as compared to ducted

basement ventilation system.

– More than 70% of the materials

used in the interiors have a reduced carbon footprint. They

ensure higher recycled content; have lower embodied

energy and are rapidly renewable.

– Interlocking concrete paved blocks used

on the road surface enable water percolation and control

storm water run-off, thereby benefiting the water table

levels.

Suzlon One Earth, the recently commissioned Global HQ of

Suzlon Group is based at Pune spread across

approximately 41,000 sq mtr of land. The project was

awarded to Synefra Engineering &Construction Limited

who conceived, managed and executed the project.

conceptualize, invest, develop & maintain Hi-Tech

Industrial Infrastructure globally for Suzlon Group

companies. With more than a decade of execution

expertise, Synefra has today evolved to be an Integrated

Infrastructure Solutions provider to different industrial

business segments. With experienced professionals

comprising of engineers, architects, finance and

Suzlon One Earth was conceptualized and designed with

the vision of Suzlon Group CMD Mr. Tulsi R Tanti who

wanted a “Sustainable & Green” workplace with minimal

ecological footprint. A place which would provide a view to

all beyond the monitor screens, a chance to experience

day light changes at workstations, a place where

employees do not feel restricted in thought or movement

and more importantly they do not miss the joy of changing

seasons while they go about achieving targets.

With a built up of over 8,00,000 sq ft., Suzlon One Earth

was spearheaded by Mr. J R Tanti, MD, Synefra, who is an

architect by profession, it is a benchmark project for

energy-efficient and sustainable infrastructure in all

aspects of design, engineering, construction and project

management. One Earth is an exemplary case study of

consciously adhering to global norms of renewable energy

usage, health and safety, optimal energy planning and

socio economic responsibility.

The One Earth master plan managed by Synefra, is similar

to a campus which is based on an urban village concept,

with features like horizontal open spaces instead of linear

over bearing structures, large interaction courtyards

instead of only meetings rooms, spread out and integrated

landscape to encourage activities instead of “keep off

grass” signs, state-of-art outdoor lighting, functional and

aesthetic outdoor furniture, prominent water bodies,

traditional elements like Deep-stambh (pillar of lamps) & a

20' diameter steel fabricated globe representing Suzlon's

presence in over 22 countries. A Wind Gallery at the

campus along with a souvenir shop, The One Earth Store

showcases the journey of wind down the ages and

mankind's efforts to harness wind to its advantage. One

Earth can accommodate around 2300 team members.

Governed by sustainable and green standards of

engineering and construction science, Synefra has

incorporated innovative concepts like 100% renewable

energy powered campus - solar & wind on site and offsite

installations, deployment of CFCs and HCFCs free air

conditioning systems, maximum use of recycled water for

landscape/flushing, onsite organic waste converter

producing dry manure from waste for landscape, creation

of a live hub terminus instead of a mundane basement of

nearing 2,00,00 sq ft built with functional facilities like

parking, courier desk, clinic, indoor activities area,

cafeteria, driver's room etc , to name a few.

This technologically advanced campus rooted in

traditional principles of Vaastu science has been

conceived with a vision to inspire every occupant and

visitor as well as demonstrate Suzlon's mission of

Powering a greener tomorrow – a conscious and systemic

approach by Synefra proved to be the winner in this case.

Not only has it brought a model design architecture and

utilities into the project but as achieved One Earth at

almost 12% less cost than equivalent scale projects with

green features.

With the incorporation of design and engineering

innovation at One Earth brought in by Synefra, the project

is a trendsetter in aspects such as:

• 100% powered by renewable energy with on site and

offsite wind and solar installations

• Installation of 18 on site functional wind turbines

and use of solar panels along with Building

Integrated Photovoltaic Panels (BIPV) generating 7%

energy onsite.

• Installed load reduced from 6.5 MVA to 4 MVA due to

energy efficient installations HVAC and Lighting at

rating by IGBC, an international rating agency and

GRIHA 5 stars (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat

Assessment), highest rating by a national agency for

green building structures. It is the first corporate in India

to achieve this dual honor and the only building of this

scale till date in the world to have received a high

Platinum NC rating from LEED.
