1ST BERLIN CITY FOREST CONFERENCE 2019
PARTICIPATION DOCUMENTS
2Participation documents 1st Berlin Stadt Wald Conference The programme may be subject to changes. Last changes: 28 June 2019
NOT JUST A TRENDING TOPIC BUT SCIENTIFICALLY ESTABLISHED.
Especially in steadily growing metropolitan areas, forests and nature are increasingly becoming important for the urban population as spaces of recreation and activity. Thus they fulfil an important social function. The Berlin Forestry Com-mission (Berliner Forsten) puts the positive effect of forests on humans at the heart of its first City Forest Conference.
Forestry and forest science meet urban and open space plan-ning, meet social sciences and health service, but also politics and economics – as well as high-ranking experts from Ger-many and abroad. During two days with keynote speeches, interviews and best practice examples we want to debate the effect and the use of forests for and by humans and urban societies. Practical offers in the field of forest therapy and workshops with renowned experts complete the programme of the conference.
Your experience in dealing with forests and nature in or around the city are important to us. Have a conversation with our experts about your / their concepts. Discussion panels provide the perfect atmosphere for exchanging ideas.
Hence, we cordially invite you to our 1st Berlin City Forest Conference (Stadt Wald Congress).
With best regards from the well-wooded metropolis Berlin,
Elmar Lakenberg, Head of Berliner Forsten
