Periodic/Non‐Continuous Monitoring

Are there any results in breach of licence requirements? If yes please provide brief details in the comment section of Table A1 below

Two significant TO bypasses occurred during 2013 ‐ one identified by monitoring on P3 Stack (Vent A2‐7) & reported to the Agency at the time. Second was thought to be potentially significant, notified to the Agency in December 2013, based on process activities so monitoring results are not available and the estimated loss to atmosphere is reported in the SMP.

The results of the 2013 groundwater monitoring programme were generally consistent with the Conceptual Site Model for the site,

confirming the presence of groundwater impact by key COPCs (DCM, MTBE and/or TBA) close to identified source areas.  MTBE was also observed at low‐to‐trace concentrations (typically <0.1 mg/l) in many of the shallow and intermediate‐depth wells monitored across the

site.

A marked decline in COPC concentrations has been noted over recent monitoring rounds in two key areas of the site, namely the P2 tank farm area, where elevated xylenes and ethyl benzene in the mg/l range have been observed in the past (2010 – 2012), and the PSA4

source area (AGW08‐S and AGW08‐I) where DCM in the g/l range was observed during 2012.  These decreases are considered to be linked to

recent upgrades to the process effluent drainage system, and operation of the PSA4 groundwater remediation system, respectively.
