Gastric glands:
(1) glandulae cardiacae
(2) glandulae gastricae propriae
(3) glandulae pyloricae
gastric glands consists of 3 parts:
1. an upper isthmus
2. an intermediary neck
3. a deep base (body)
Small Intestine – Intestinum tenue Function: the site of terminal food digestion, nutrient absorption and endocrine secretion
Anatomically: DUODENUM, JEJUNUM, ILEUM
Blood supply in liver
1. nutritive arterial system – arteria hepatica propria: forms interlobular arteries
2. portal vein system – vena portae: forms interlobular branches and distributing veins
GALLBLADDER - vesica fellea
saccate organ – piriform shaped reservoir of bile (volume 50-80 ml)
