    A. Definition Of Syllabus

    The term syllabus can be defined as outlines,

    summaries, overviews, or the main points of the

    content or subject matter.(Salim, 1987: 98).

    The term is used to refer to the syllabus of a

    product in the form of curriculum development

    further elaboration of SK and KD to be achieved,

    and the subject matter as well as a dsecription ofthe material that students need to learn in order

    to achieve the SK and KD.

    So, the syllabus is a learning plan and/or a

    group of subjects or spesific theme that

    includes SK, KD, learning materials, learning

    activities, indicators of achievement of

    competence, assessment, allocation of time,

    and learning resources.

    Benefits of Syllabus

    As a guide in the development of furtherlearning, such as creating lesson plans,learning activities management and

    development assessment system. As a guide for planning management of

    learning activities, for example in the classicallearning activities, small group or individuallearning.

    C. Syllabus Time Unit

    Coursesyllabus is based on the entire allocationof time devoted to each subject for the educationin the educational unit level

    Preparation of a course syllabus attention giventime allocation by the semester, bye the year, andtghe allocation of time that a bunch of othersubjects.

    The implementation uses fragments of learning

    by the semester syllabus according to SK and KDfor subjects with time available on the structureof the curriculum.

    E. Syllabus Components

    Product development curriculum contains basicthoughts that give guidelines to answer 3fundamental questions in learning, namely:

    1. What was to be controlled by the competenceof learners

    2. How to facilitate learners to mastercompetencies

    3. How to determine the level of competencyachievement by learners.

    From here, its clear that the syllabus contains themain points of competence and materials, and basiclearning strategies and assessment points.

    Principal component of syllabus that

    commonly used:

    Components related competencies to bemastered, include: SK, KD, Indicators, andlearning materials

    Components associated with masteringcompetencies, containing the principal subject inthe learning activities.

    Components related to competencyachievement, include: Assessment techniques

    and assessment instrument Supporting components, consisting of: Allocation

    of time and learning resources.

    implementation of instructional materials in

    various forms (Student worksheet, Student TaskSheet, Information Sheets, etc.), according to the

    learning and assessment strategies to be used.
