UNIT – III FIRST AID 3.1 Outline and Scope of first – aid dressing and bandages with practical instruction. 3.2 Shock, its cause and treatment, method of Artificial Respiration. 3.3 The symptoms, type and general treatment of fractures and other injuries to the

joints and muscles of the human bodies. 3.4 Various types and wound and hemorrhages, general rules of treatment for

poisoning, hurns, scalds, foreign matter under the skin, eye, ear etc. and snake bites.

UNIT – IV

Sports Injuries: 4.1 Principles pertaining to the prevention of the injuries relating to the main stance of

balance and prevention falls, range of movements, intensity and quantity of muscular exercise, body segments and weight testing hearing joints, lifting and carrying external weights.

4.2 Common sports injuries and treatment- sprains, strain, contusion, abrasions. 4.3 Principles of applying heat, cold ultraviolet, infrared and movements in the

treatment of injuries.

UNIT – I

SPRINTING: Types of starts Sports Medium (Crough Start) and Long Start (Elongated) and arm action, head Position, teaching stages, use of starting blocks, and adjustment on various stages which respect of body mechanics, How to finish. Middle Distance Run: Techniques and starting of pace judgment, arm action leg and arm action, Length, frequency of strides.

UNIT – II LONG DISTANCE RUN Various styles and types of runners and prevalent methods of training long distance runners. Leg and arm action. Hurdles: Use of correct form, during take off in the air, and landing, rhythm, length and frequency of striden and arm action.
