The first ever Syracuse Bacon Festival started in downtown Syracuse in 2017 and has become one of the "must-attend" BACON events for bacon lovers across Central New York.

The Syracuse Bacon Festival is...• The biggest BACON Festival in Central New York.

• A bacon lover’s dream, where every event attendee will have a variety of unique bacon creations to purchase all in one place.

• A FREE community event where attendees can enjoy BACON (and non-bacon) treats, beer , wine slushies and live music.

Vendor Requirements:

• Must hold appropriate insurance, licenses and permits.

• Food vendors must have at least 1 bacon item on their menu.

• All food vendors must have a Certificate of Liability Insurance form listing Galaxy Events LLC, 235 Walton St, Syracuse, NY 13202 &City of Syracuse Dept. of Parks & Recreation, 412 Spencer Street, Syracuse, NY 13204 as Additionally Insured.

• All food vendors must have an Onondaga County Department of Health Temporary Food Service Permit. Please call 315-435-6607 for information.

Set-up Time and Check-inVendors’ “set up” will take place on Thursday August 13th from 1:30 pm to 6 pm. NO SOONER NO LATER. For vendors’ convenience, Erie Blvd West and Clinton Street will be closed to traffic starting at 1pm.Please do not come to the site prior to 1:30 pm on Thursdayand expect your equipment to be promptly hooked up.DO NOT BRING ANY FOOD WITH YOU ON THURSDAY! Electricity will not be turned on until Friday morning.Security will be on site overnight on Thursday and all dayFriday & Saturday. There will be NO security Saturday night.Friday: You may start setting up Friday August 14th at 9am. All vehicles must be off site by 3:00pm. Bacon Festival concludes at 10pm and at that time vendors MAY begin to clean up and break down. Power is turned off Saturday night after the event.

We will supply each vendor with 1 parking pass for City Lot 21 (Chase Building) on S.Clinton Street but this DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU A SPOT! Limited parking is on a first come first served basis. See page 8

• All food & beverage vendors are required to send Galaxy Events a copy of their Liability Insurance form listing the following asadditional insured:

Health Department Requirements Pertaining to Food Service• Individual county health department permits must be secured

by each individual food vendor. Please contact the Onondaga County Health Department for details.

• Bags of ice will be available for purchase on site.

Cooking Appliances• Cooking appliances that would be used at home such as

residential stoves, ovens, crock pots and skillets are not permitted..

Grease Disposal/Grease MatsGalaxy Events provides access to a grease disposal unit to discard your used grease and cooking water following the event. The location will be indicated on the map with your booth location on it. This map will be sent to you closer to the event date.DO NOT dispose of grease or cooking water down storm drains, on the sidewalks or any other place other than the disposal units.All vendors who are cooking must have grease mats or some other material covering their floor space to prevent grease from staining the sidewalk or street.PLEASE NOTE: If excessive grease has spilled on the ground within your area and is noticed after the festival closing you will be charged a clean-up fee of $250 by the City of Syracuse.

Lighting• Participants are responsible for their own task/work lighting

within their tent/space.• Due to the extreme heat generated by halogen lights and the

potential flammability of gas lanterns, neither is permitted as a lighting source. All lighting must be outdoor lighting. If you have any questions please contact the City of Syracuse electricians at 315-473-4407

Propane Permit• Anyone cooking with propane will be required to file for a

propane permit with the City of Syracuse Fire Department. You can find this permit on page 10 of this registration packet.

Recycling• Be advised that all vendors are required to recycle at Clinton

Square. Boxes, cans and plastic are to be separated and placed in the back right hand corner of your booth. An official cleaning crew will periodically remove these recyclables from your site. All Onondaga County recycling rules apply at Clinton Square. Please plan ahead, bring additional plastic bags.

Restroom Facilities• Porta Johns will be located on Erie Blvd West.Security• Although overnight security will be provided for the evening of

Thursday, August 13, it is the vendors’ responsibility to secure their possessions. We strongly recommend you remove any valuable items when you leave at night such as laptops, phones, ipads, etc….

• Galaxy Events assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen property. Trash

• All vendors must supply their own garbage cans and garbage bags (maximum weigh 40lb).

Utilities• A Utilities Request Form is on page 7 of this registration

packet. If you need power you are to fill this out this form and send it back to us ASAP.. No Form = No Power.

Water• Water will be made available to food vendors via a nearby fire

hydrant. The City will supply a certain amount of hose, but vendors that need food-grade hose must supply their own to reach their individual tent/space.

I hereby affirm to have read all instructions and information included in this application and forever discharge, and hold harmless the Syracuse Bacon Festival, Galaxy Events and all other festival partners from all manner of actions, suits, damages, claims, and demands whatsoever from any loss or damage to property of the undersigned while in possession or supervision of the festival, its agents, representatives or employees. I understand all the information, agree to sell only the items approved by the Syracuse Bacon Festival and agree to comply with all Galaxy Events rules, directions and requirements provided by festival organizers.
