Connecting the DAP-2553 to your network

Used to broadcast wireless networkandrecieveconnectionsfrom802.11ab/g/draftnwirelessclients.

Connects DAP-2553 to a switchorPC.

A. Connect thepoweradapter to the receptoron the rearpanelof theDAP-2553andthenplugtheotherendofthepoweradaptertoawalloutletorpowerstrip.ThepowerLEDwill turnON to indicateproperoperation.

UsinganEthernetcable,insertoneendofthecabletotheLANportontherearpaneloftheDAP-2553andtheotherendofthecabletoaswitch.

Note:YoucanalsoconnecttheDAP-2553directlytothecomputerthatwillbeusedforconfiguration.TheLANLEDwillilluminatetoindicateaproperEthernetconnection.

Computerswith802.11b/g/draftnwirelessadapterscanconnect totheDAP-2553.

Connecting PoE (Power over Ethernet)ConnectoneendofanEthernetcable(includedwithyourpackage)totheLANportontheDAP-2553andtheotherendoftheEthernetcabletoyourcomputerortoyourPoEswitch.TheAPcanbepoweredonbyaPoEswitchorbythepoweradaptershippedwiththeAP.

Using the Configuration MenuFirst,disabletheAccess the Internet using a proxy serverfunction.Todisablethisfunction,gotoControl Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settingsandunchecktheenablebox.

Startyourwebbrowserprogram(InternetExplorer,MozillaFirefox).

Pleasestartyourwebbrowserprogram,typetheIPaddressofthedevice(http://192.168.0.50)andpressEnter.MakesurethattheIPaddressesofthedeviceandthecomputerareinthesamesubnet.Then,refertothemanualforconfiguration.

Note: If you have changed the default IP address assigned to the DAP-2553, make sure to enter the correct IP address.

Aftertheconnectionisestablished,youwillseetheuseridentificationwindowasshown.

• TypeadminintheUser Namefield.• LeavethePasswordfieldblank.• ClicktheLoginbutton.
