Expanding the Panasonic Home Network SystemThe Panasonic Home Network System is a wireless system that lets you create a powerfulnetwork of devices, such as cameras, sensors, and smart plugs, and control them all with aneasy-to-use app.Compatible devices are explained below. For information about the Home Network app, refer tothe User’s Guide (page 17).The maximum number of devices for each device type is listed below.

Digital Cordless Handset (KX-HNH100: 6 max.*1)R Makes and receives calls using your home landlineR Can be used to change the system’s arm modeR Displays system statusR Receives notification when the sensors are triggered

Indoor Camera (KX-HNC210: 4 max.*2)R Full-color camera and built-in microphone for live monitoring

and recordingR Built-in visual sensor, audio sensor, and temperature sensor

can be used to trigger other actions (camera recording, turningon a light, etc.)

For your safetyTo prevent severe injury and loss of life/property, read this section carefully beforeusing the product to ensure proper and safeoperation of your product.

WARNING

Power connectionR Use only the power source marked on the

product.R Do not overload power outlets and

extension cords. This can result in the riskof fire or electric shock.

R Completely insert the AC adaptor/powerplug into the power outlet. Failure to do somay cause electric shock and/or excessiveheat resulting in a fire.

R Regularly remove any dust, etc. from theAC adaptor/power plug by pulling it fromthe power outlet, then wiping with a drycloth. Accumulated dust may cause aninsulation defect from moisture, etc.resulting in a fire.

R Unplug the product from power outlets if itemits smoke, an abnormal smell, or makesan unusual noise. These conditions cancause fire or electric shock. Confirm thatsmoke has stopped emitting and contact usat http://shop.panasonic.com/support

R Unplug from power outlets and never touchthe inside of the product if its casing has

been broken open. Danger of electric shockexists.

R Never touch the plug with wet hands.Danger of electric shock exists.

R Do not connect non-specified devices.

InstallationR To prevent the risk of fire or electrical

shock, do not expose the product to rain orany type of moisture.

R Do not place or use this product nearautomatically controlled devices such asautomatic doors and fire alarms. Radiowaves emitted from this product may causesuch devices to malfunction resulting in anaccident.

R Do not allow the AC adaptor or telephoneline cord to be excessively pulled, bent orplaced under heavy objects.

R Keep small parts, such as microSD cards,out of the reach of children. There is a riskof swallowing. In the event they areswallowed, seek medical adviceimmediately.

Operating safeguardsR Unplug the product from power outlets

before cleaning. Do not use liquid oraerosol cleaners.

R Do not disassemble the product.R Do not spill liquids (detergents, cleansers,

etc.) onto the telephone line cord plug, orallow it to become wet at all. This maycause a fire. If the telephone line cord plugbecomes wet, immediately pull it from thetelephone wall jack, and do not use.

R Never put metal objects inside the product.If metal objects enter the product, turn offthe circuit breaker and contact anauthorized service center.

MedicalR Consult the manufacturer of any personal

medical devices, such as pacemakers orhearing aids, to determine if they areadequately shielded from external RF(radio frequency) energy. DECT featuresoperate between 1.92 GHz and 1.93 GHzwith a peak transmission power of 115 mW.Wi-Fi features operate between 2.412 GHz

R Do not use the product in health carefacilities if any regulations posted in thearea instruct you not to do so. Hospitals orhealth care facilities may be usingequipment that could be sensitive toexternal RF energy.

Installation and locationR Never install wiring during a lightning storm.R Never install telephone line jacks in wet

locations unless the jack is specificallydesigned for wet locations.

R Never touch uninsulated telephone wires orterminals unless the telephone line hasbeen disconnected at the network interface.

R Use caution when installing or modifyingtelephone lines.

R The AC adaptor is used as the maindisconnect device. Ensure that the ACoutlet is installed near the product and iseasily accessible.

R This product is unable to make calls when:– there is a power failure.– when the cordless handset or mobile

device’s batteries need recharging orhave failed.

your mobile device to this product to useencryption for all wireless communication.

R You may be vulnerable to securitybreaches if the unit is used with the loginpassword, disarm code, or PIN code, orother settings at their defaults values.Configure your own values for thesesettings.

R Do not use passwords that could be easilyguessed by a third party. If you keep arecord of your passwords, protect thatrecord. Change passwords regularly.

R If you lose your mobile device, change thepassword used to access this product.

R If you enable the product’s auto loginfeature, enable the screen lock or similarsecurity feature on your mobile device.

R Take care when performing importantsecurity related operations such as deletingMAC address, unit IDs, etc.

R To prevent disclosure of personalinformation, enable the screen lock orsimilar security feature on your mobiledevice.

R When submitting the product for repair,make a note of any important informationstored in the product, as this informationmay be erased or changed as part of therepair process.

R Before handing the product over to a thirdparty for repair or other purposes, performa factory data reset to erase any data

stored in the product and remove themicroSD card. Use only trusted repairservices authorized by Panasonic.

R Before disposing of the product, perform afactory data reset to erase any data storedin the product. Remove and erase themicroSD card.

R If your mobile device will no longer be usedwith the product, delete your mobiledevice’s registration from the product anddelete the corresponding app from yourmobile device.

R If this product experiences a power outage,its date and time setting may becomeincorrect. In this case, the date and timesetting will be automatically corrected whenyour mobile device and this product areconnected to the same wireless network.

Additionally, note the following.R Multiple hubs cannot be used on the same

network.R Only one mobile device can access this

product while away from home. If a secondmobile device connects to this productwhile away from home, the first mobiledevice is disconnected.

R Communications may be interrupteddepending on network conditions andwireless signal quality.

R This product may be used in ways thatviolate the privacy or publicity rights ofothers. You are responsible for the ways inwhich this product is used.

For best performanceHub location/avoiding noiseThe hub and other compatible Panasonicdevices use radio waves to communicate witheach other.R For maximum coverage and noise-free

communications, place your hub:– at a convenient, high, and central

location with no obstructions betweenthe devices and hub in an indoorenvironment.

– away from electronic appliances such asTVs, radios, personal computers,wireless devices, or other phones.

– facing away from radio frequencytransmitters, such as external antennasof mobile phone cell stations. (Avoidputting the hub on a bay window or neara window.)

R Coverage and voice quality depends on thelocal environmental conditions.

R If the reception for a hub location is notsatisfactory, move the hub to anotherlocation for better reception.

EnvironmentR Keep the product away from electrical noise

generating devices, such as fluorescentlamps and motors.

R The product should be kept free fromexcessive smoke, dust, high temperature,and vibration.

R The product should not be exposed todirect sunlight.

R Do not place heavy objects on top of theproduct.

R When you leave the product unused for along period of time, unplug the product fromthe power outlet.

R The product should be kept away from heatsources such as heaters, kitchen stoves,etc. It should not be placed in rooms wherethe temperature is less than 0 °C (32 °F) orgreater than 40 °C (104 °F). Dampbasements should also be avoided.

R The maximum communication range maybe shortened when the product is used inthe following places: Near obstacles suchas hills, tunnels, underground, near metalobjects such as wire fences, etc.

R Operating the product near electricalappliances may cause interference. Moveaway from the electrical appliances.

R Do not use benzine, thinner, or anyabrasive powder.

Protecting your recordingsR Do not remove the microSD card or

disconnect the hub’s AC adaptor whilereading or writing data to the microSD card.Data on the card could become corrupted.

R If a microSD card malfunctions or isexposed to electromagnetic waves or staticelectricity, data on the card could becomecorrupted or erased. Therefore werecommend backing up important data to acomputer or other device.

Notice for product disposal, transfer,or returnR This product can store your private/

confidential information. To protect yourprivacy/confidentiality, we recommend thatyou erase information such as phonebookor caller list entries from the memory beforeyou dispose of, transfer, or return theproduct.

Note about power connections

AC adaptor connectionR The AC adaptor must remain connected at

all times. (It is normal for the adaptor to feelwarm during use.)

R The AC adaptor should be connected to avertically oriented or floor-mounted ACoutlet. Do not connect the AC adaptor to aceiling-mounted AC outlet, as the weight ofthe adaptor may cause it to becomedisconnected.

Power failureR The hub will not work during a power failure.R The hub’s telephone features will not work

during a power failure. We recommendconnecting a corded-type telephone thatdoes not use an AC adaptor to yourtelephone line.

Wi-Fi® settingsAfter you have connected your hub, here iswhat you will need to do in order to access thesystem from your mobile device. Eachprocedure is explained in this chapter.1 Download

Download the [Home Network] app toyour mobile device.

2 Initial setupUse the [Home Network] app toconfigure the hub to connect to yourwireless router, and then register yourmobile device to the hub.

Downloading the [HomeNetwork] appDownload information is available at the webpage listed below.

Compatible mobile devicesiPhone® 4 or later, iPad®, or iPad mini™ (iOS6.0 or later) or an Android™ device (Android4.0 or later)Note:R The [Home Network] app may not function

properly depending on the systemenvironment, such as the model of yourmobile device, peripherals connected toyour mobile device, and the apps installedon your mobile device.

R The following Android devices are notcompatible with the [Home Network] app.– Android devices that are not supported

by Google Play– Android devices with limited hardware

features (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, andmicrophone support are required.)

Initial setupConfirm the following before you begin.– Make sure you have installed the [Home

Network] app on your mobile device– Make sure the hub and your wireless router

are turned on and the hub’s LED indicatoris lit in yellow

– Make sure the hub is located within rangeof your wireless router

– Make sure your mobile device is connectedto your wireless router

– Make sure your mobile device can connectto the Internet

– Make sure you know the network name(SSID) and password assigned to yourwireless router

Initial setup for iPhone, iPad1 Start the [Home Network] app.

R If prompted, follow the on-screeninstructions and select the appropriateregion/country.

R If prompted to select the device to beset up, tap [Hub].

2 When prompted, tap [Set up the Hub].3 When prompted, press MWi-Fi SETUPN

on the hub.R The LED indicator blinks in yellow.

4 Change your mobile device’s Wi-Fisetting temporarily so that it connects tothe hub directly.R Open your mobile device’s [Settings]

app, tap [Wi-Fi], select“KX-HNB600_Panasonic”, enter“00000000” as the password, and thentap [Join].

R If more than 1 item named“KX-HNB600_Panasonic” is displayed,wait approx. 10 minutes and performthis procedure from the beginning.

5 Start the [Home Network] app again.6 If necessary, enter the password required

to connect to your wireless router andthen tap [Next].R The hub and your mobile device

connect to your wireless router.R If prompted, follow the on-screen

instructions and connect your mobiledevice to your wireless router, start theapp again, and then tap [Add ThisMobile Device].

R If you enter the wrong Wi-Fi password,[Setup failed.] is displayed and thehub’s LED indicator lights.Proceed as follows according to thecolor of the hub’s LED indicator.– If the LED indicator is lit in yellow,

repeat the initial setup procedurefrom the beginning.

– If the LED indicator is blinkingquickly in green, you must reset thehub’s Wi-Fi settings. See “If thehub's LED indicator blinks in green”,page 13.

7 When prompted, press MWi-Fi SETUPNon the hub.R Your mobile device will be registered

to the hub.8 When prompted, follow the on-screen

instructions and set the password used tolog in to the hub while away from homeand then tap [OK].

Falla en el suministro eléctricoR El hub no funciona durante las fallas del

4 Cambie la configuración de Wi-Fi de sudispositivo móvil temporalmente para que seconecte directamente al hub.R Abra la aplicación [Configuración] en su

dispositivo móvil, toque [Wi-Fi], seleccione“KX-HNB600_Panasonic”, introduzca“00000000” como clave y luego toque[Conectar].

R Si aparece más de 1 elemento llamado“KX-HNB600_Panasonic”, espere aprox.10 minutos y realice este procedimientodesde el inicio.

5 Inicie de nuevo la aplicación [Home Network].6 Si es necesario, introduzca la clave requerida

para conectarse al enrutador inalámbrico y, acontinuación, presione [Sig.].R El hub y su dispositivo móvil se conectan a

su enrutador inalámbrico.R Si se le solicita, siga las instrucciones en la

pantalla y conecte su dispositivo móvil a suenrutador inalámbrico, reinicie la aplicacióny luego toque [Añadir este dispositivomóvil].

R Si introduce una clave de Wi-Fi incorrecta,aparece [La instalación ha fallado.] y elLED indicador del hub se encenderá.Proceda de la siguiente manera según elcolor del LED indicador del hub.– Si la luz del LED indicador es amarilla,

repita el procedimiento de instalacióndesde el comienzo.

– Si la luz del LED indicador parpadea enverde rápidamente, debe reiniciar laconfiguración Wi-Fi del hub. Consulte“Si el LED indicador del hub parpadeaen verde”, página 6.

7 Cuando se le solicite, oprima MWi-Fi SETUPNen el hub.R Se registrará el dispositivo móvil en el hub.

8 Cuando se le solicite, siga las instrucciones enla pantalla y establezca la clave usada paraacceder al hub mientras está fuera de sucasa. A continuación, toque [Aceptar].

9 Cuando se le solicite, introduzca un nombrepara el hub y para el dispositivo móvil y toque[Aceptar].R Su dispositivo móvil utiliza la configuración

del nombre del hub para identificar el hub.Esto resulta útil cuando tiene varios hubs.

R Los usuarios del hub y otros sistemasutilizan la configuración del nombre deldispositivo móvil para identificar sudispositivo móvil. Esto puede ser útil alrealizar ciertas operaciones, como anularel registro o realizar llamadas deintercomunicador con un auricularinalámbrico.

10 Cuando se le solicite, seleccione si deseapersonalizar perfiles de dispositivos, como elnombre del dispositivo, ubicación y otrosajustes de configuración para sus dispositivos.R Si opta por no personalizar los perfiles del

dispositivo en este momento, puedecambiarlos más tarde si lo desea. Paraobtener detalles sobre personalización deperfiles de dispositivos, consulte la Guíadel usuario (página 10).

R Si opta por personalizar los perfiles de losdispositivos en este momento, cambiecada uno de los ajustes de configuraciónsegún lo desee. Al finalizar, toque reiteradamente hasta que aparezca elmensaje “completado”.

R Aparecerá la pantalla de inicio de laaplicación una vez completada laconfiguración inicial.

Si el LED indicador del hub parpadea en verdeSi introduce una clave de Wi-Fi incorrecta duranteel procedimiento de configuración inicial paraiPhone o iPad, aparece [La instalación hafallado.] y el LED indicador del hub parpadearápidamente en verde. En este caso, realice losiguiente.1. Mantenga oprimidos al mismo tiempo los 3

botones de registro en el lateral del hub yMWi-Fi SETUPN en la parte trasera del hub (4botones en total) hasta que el Led indicador delhub parpadee lentamente en verde y amarillo.

2. Espere hasta que el Led indicador del hub semantenga en amarillo.

3. Repita el procedimiento de configuración inicial(“Configuración inicial para iPhone, iPad”,página 5).

Montaje en la paredPuede usar el adaptador de instalación en paredincluido para instalar el hub de dicha forma si lodesea.Nota:R Asegúrese de que la pared y el método de

colocación sean lo suficientemente resistentespara soportar el peso de la unidad.

1 Conecte el adaptador de corriente y el cablede línea telefónica al hub.R Asegure el cable del adaptador de

corriente alterna enrollándolo en el gancho.

2 Deslice el adaptador de instalación en paredhasta que encaje y haga clic.R Asegúrese de que la marca “UP” en el

adaptador de instalación en pared mirehacia arriba.

R Alinee e inserte las pestañas (1) deladaptador de instalación en pared en lasranuras (2) del hub.

R Ajuste las ranuras del hub en las pestañascorrespondientes de la placa del teléfono(4) y (5) respectivamente.
