It’s great to be able to welcome
Helen to the St Theresa’s team.
Helen comes to us from
Resurrection Primary School and
will be working with all grade
levels in her area of expertise,
Literacy. She already loves the
warm welcoming community spirit
of St Theresa’s. Of course her
favourite subject is Literacy and
she enjoys reading everyday so
that she can learn as much as she
can about the world but in
particular Japan where she has
just returned from holidays!
Congratulations to our Holy Communion Students

WORKING BEE : SATURDAY 30th April
8am – 1.00pm.
Every family, especially our new families are invited to help out at the school working bee.
You don’t have to stay the whole morning, if you can spare an hour or two that will be greatly
appreciated. Some of the jobs that we need help with will be cleaning the drains, cleaning the
sandpit area, weeding, pruning and planting, laying mulch and a bit of carpentry work. So as
you can see, there’s a job for everyone. Bring wheel barrows and any tools or gardening
utensils that you think might be helpful.
And remember the more helpers we get the more we can get done.
MORE NEW FACES …We are also very
pleased to welcome Mira Boudoloh who has joined
the staff working as a Learning Support Officer.
And we have 2 new students who have come to us
from Deer Park West Primary School. Gabriel and
David who are in Grade 3 and 4. We hope they all
settle in well and soon feel part of our community.
Cross Country Report Last Friday St Theresa’s was magnificently
represented at the Cross Country trials by 21 students. All runners have trained hard over
the past few weeks and all completed the 2km or 3km course successfully which is a big
effort and one that deserves our congratulations….Majier Adut, Mayen

Ramachandran, Harry Pratheepan, William Flanagan, Brodie Webber, Simon Van

Winter Uniforms
From May 2nd the children are required to wear full Winter
uniform which can be purchased from the office.
Please make sure you have all
the correct school items as we have been noticing that
children are wearing bits and pieces that are not our uniform.
If you are unsure about school uniform, please ask your child’s teacher or Venetia in the office.
Thank you for your support.

We sent our Grade 6’s off to Candlebark Farm yesterday for 3

day at the Healesville sanctuary yesterday.

A very big THANKYOU to Dean Raniolo (Alannah 2015) for spending so much of his spare time building our 3 picnic tables. We are all really
enjoying them especially on these beautiful sunny Autumn days. A wonderful effort for our school! STUDENT WELLBEING
At St Theresa’s we strive to develop your child’s academic ability in every way we can. Just as
important, we also strive to develop your child’s social and emotional learning skills ie. the life
skills needed to recognize and mange their emotions, develop care and concern for others,
establish positive relationships, make reasonable decisions and handle challenging
situations constructively and ethically. We do this in a number of ways including
teaching the resilience program ‘Bounceback’, engaging in circle time and focusing on
particular social skills. You may have noticed the posters around the school….
“Manner of the Week”. It is important to their social development that the children learn these manners and use them all the time. We ask that you reinforce the use of these manners at home so that the children
are getting the same message from both places. This week’s Manner of the Week is…….
Do not interrupt when
someone is speaking.
Community Conversations Thankyou to those parents who attended the recent community conversations about home
learning and other school matters. These conversations are very useful to us because they
provide important input and feedback from our parents about the things we do at St Theresa’s and
keep parents informed about how we can work
together to provide the best learning opportunities for our children.
These community conversations will be held every term and will involve all grade levels. Our
next one is for Grade 3 & 4 parents and will be about the camp primarily and other school
matters that may arise.
COMMUNITY CONVERSATION

after school OR you just want your child to join in some fun and educational activities, then you
should consider OSHClub. We are hearing great reports about it from the children who have already
tried it. To book a session go to www.oshclub.com.au
