8th Grade– District One Act Play Champions
Grade 8
In Intro to Theater Arts, students will learn the art of Pantomime, vocal
production and proper warm up techniques for the stage actor. They
will also be required to learn theatrical elements: Basic Acting Tech-
niques, Stage Positions, Parts of the Stage, Character Analysis and
Character Development.
*Advanced Course (requires administrator approval and participa-
tion in U.I..L. One Act Play Contest)
In Theater Arts 1-4 classes, students will learn the art of
Pantomime, vocal production and proper warm up
techniques for the stage actor. They will also be re-
quired to learn theatrical elements: Basic Acting
Techniques, Stage Positions, Parts of the Stage, Char-
acter Analysis and Character Development, Puppetry,
roles and responsibilities of the Theater Production
Team, Storytelling and the History of Theater.
Major Projects Required:
*Storytelling
*Film and/or Television Short Film
*Theatrical Design Projects: Makeup, Publicity,
Costume & Marketing/Publicity
*Musical Theater Choreography
Competition Class– Grade 10-12
All students in production are required to
audition for each production, participate in
UIL One Act Play, and UIL Poetry and Prose
or the UIL Theatrical Design contests. They
are also required to develop a working ac-
tor’s resume’, portfolio and headshot for the
purpose of attending formal auditions to
acquire college scholarships.
Students will learn the elements of lighting design,
sound design, set design, costume construction and
design, stage management scenic painting, directing
and the roles of the production team. Seniors will have
an opportunity to student direct scenes or plays for a
final exam project at the end of the year.

Participated in E.H.S. Production
• Participation in All E.H.S. Productions & U.I.L.
