A Family Perspective ~ May 31, 2015
In today’s Gospel Jesus com-
mands, “Teach them to carry out
everything I have commanded
you.” This command is meant for every Christian.
In light of this command, parenting is not only the
most difficult task a person can take on, it is also
one of the most apostolic and missionary tasks.
Jesus commands all parents to teach their children
“all that I have commanded you.”

Labels/Aunt Millie’s School Spirit Labels Thank you SJV parishioners for your support of our labels program! We have been able to raise over $4,000 just this school year with the collection and redemption of these labels! WOW! THANK-YOU! Before the school year comes to a close, we are having one last push to collect as many labels as we can. So round up all the labels you’ve been collecting and drop them off in the collection bin lo-cated in the main vestibule of church before the beginning of June! The Box Tops have expiration dates and many will expire before the summer is out and if they are expired, we can not redeem them. So take a mo-ment and “ROUND ‘EM UP and DROP THEM OFF”! Thanks again for your continued support of our school children! Any questions, please
contact Jenny at [email protected].

“And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting
for the life of his fellow man.” Gen. 9:5
Reflection: We are accountable to God for many things. The first is life itself. God does not say here that we are simply ac-countable for our own life, as if we were each an island. He says we are responsible for the lives of others. From the beginning, God makes us a community of persons not simply a collection of persons, nobody is to be excluded.
Prayer: Father, turn our minds and hearts toward a ceaseless care
of others.

MISSION OF THE CHURCH -
Of her very nature, the Church is missionary. This means her members are called by God to bring the Gospel by word and deed to all peoples and to every situation of work, education, culture, and commu-nal life in which human beings find each other. The members of the Church seek to transform society not by power but by persuasion and by example.
