5. Firmware installation Firmware has to be installed on Arduino MEGA and Nextion tochscreen. The Firmware on the Arduino MEGA has to be installed first. This firmware has a upload switch that makes it possible to upload the Nextion firmware trough the Arduino's USB connection. Install FWLOADER for installation of Arduino MEGA firmware and install Nextion editor for installation of Nextion firmware. Both applications are in the MYDV_MDD.zip file. You can download this file from the DVMEGA downloadpage : http://dvmega.auria.nl/Downloads.html 5.1 Installation FWLOADER. Copy the FWLOADER directory to f.e. your desktop. It is not needed to install FWLOADER, you can start it direct from the directory FWLOADER. Start file XLoader.exe. 5.2 Firmware installation Arduino MEGA.

- Connect Arduino with USB cable. - Load hex file MYDV_MDD_V1xx.hex - Select myDV_MDD ( Multimode Direct Voice Device ) - Leave Baud rate at 115200 - Select comport that is assigned to the Arduino's USB port - Click Upload - Wait until ready message

5.3 Installation Nextion editor. Start nextion-setup-v0xx. Follow installation instructions. 5.4 Installation Nextion firmware. Powercycle Arduino MEGA (disconnect USB cable for at least 5 sec and reconnect). Then start Nextion editor. Click FILE, OPEN and load NEXTION_V1xx.HMI. This file is also in MYDV_MDD.zip.



- Set Com Port to Auto search - Set Baud Rate to 9600 - Click Go

- Firmware is uploading, staus information will be displayed in window



- When upload is finished, click Exit - Close Nextion editor application - myDV Multimode Direct Voice Device is now ready for use

6. How to use 6.1 Power on/off Power on the unit by give a touch in the center of the screen. Unit start up and main screen will be displayed. The unit can be switched off bij the Power button at the bottom of the main screen. 6.2 Mode selection Not yet implemented. Only D-Star is implemented yet. Implementation of DMR and Fusion is work in progress. 6.3 Settings These settings have to be done before you start the host software Take attention that the module character must be the same as used in the gateway software.



6.4 Reflector change To change from reflector you have to follow the next procedure :

- Press Reflector change button - Enter desired reflector to link - Press OK

- Press PTT to send link message - Now you hear the "linked to" message - Press Reflector change button

- Press the red CQ button at the bottom - Press OK

- Now you are ready to talk

6.5 Host software The myDV MDD is compatible with BlueDV and MMDVMhost. For installation instructions of these applications please take a look at the website of these products.
