YOUTH POLICY
ADMISSION: 1. A youth wanting to join Lien Doan Truong Son (LDTS), is invited
to come as a visitor to three (3) meetings and/or activities before making the final decision. Upon agreeing to join the troop and accepted by LDTS leadership, the New Scout must also accept and agrees to abide by the rules and regulations in this policy.
2. Upon joining the troop, the Scout has to pay membership fee and turns in scout application so leader can process registration with Boy Scout of America (BSA) or Girl Scout of USA (GSUSA) Orange County offices as soon as possible.
3. Membership for each scout is $30.00 per year and due by January of each year; this fee also covers the registration fee to BSA and/or GSUSA. New Scout pays full year membership unless joining after June, then pays half ($15.00)
4. Scout’s parents have to join LDTS Parents Association and accept its policy.
ACTIVITIES: All Scouts 1. Wear uniform according to his/her level at scout meetings/activities
unless otherwise announced. (uniform required according to Scout Hand Book plus LDTS’s insignia and troop numbers)

YOUTH POLICY
ADMISSION: 1. A youth wanting to join Lien Doan Truong Son (LDTS), is invited
to come as a visitor to three (3) meetings and/or activities before making the final decision. Upon agreeing to join the troop and accepted by LDTS leadership, the New Scout must also accept and agrees to abide by the rules and regulations in this policy.
2. Upon joining the troop, the Scout has to pay membership fee and turns in scout application so leader can process registration with Boy Scout of America (BSA) or Girl Scout of USA (GSUSA) Orange County offices as soon as possible.

8. Not allowed to leave scout meeting / activity area without permis-sion from leaders.
9. Display good manners and be courteous toward scouts of opposite sex.
10. Buddy system should be observed all the times. 11. Permission slips and other “signed and returned” materials must be
turned in on time. GROUNDS FOR DISMISSAL: 1 Miss 3 times the scout meetings/activities without an excuse. 2 Parents miss 3 times the required LDTS Parent Association quar-
terly meetings 3 Not paying membership due. 4 Leave scout activity area without permission. 5 Improper behaviors; fighting, disobeying leaders, other authority

SPL Elections and Patrol Rights
Elections After six months of Service, new Senior Patrol Leaders and Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders will be nominated and elected. Positions: Senior Patrol Leader (SPL)- Star or higher and does not need former experience in the field of leadership. Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL)- First Class or higher and may run freely if the nominee believes to be capable to fulfill the role of leadership in the position of Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. An ASPL may only serve for a maximum of two terms, and may only run for SPL once. Patrol Leader– Must have earned his Boy Scout Rank or higher. Signing off Requirements within the Boy Scouts Handbook In order to be able to legitimately sign off a requirement in the boy scout hand-book, the scout member who signs off the requirement must have his Star Rank or higher. Additional Rank Requirements:
* Tenderfoot or higher: - Troop 680 handbook - Sing “Hội Ca Hướng Đạo”

SPL Elections and Patrol Rights
Elections After six months of Service, new Senior Patrol Leaders and Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders will be nominated and elected. How to cook rice - Rinse the rice in water to get rid of excess starch. - For every cup of rice, add 1.2 cups water. 1. Bring the rice to boil, uncovered, at medium heat. 2. When boiling, turn the heat down to medium low. 3. Place the lid on the pot, keeping it tilted to allow steam to escape. 4. When you can see holes or "craters" in the rice, put the lid on tight. 5. Turn the heat to low. 6. Simmer for another 10 minutes. Do not open the lid. 7. Turn off, let the rice sit off the heat for 5 minutes 8. Fluff up rice and serve How to cook noodle: - Bring water to a boil - Depend on the size of the noodle, cook until you can cut with a chop-
stick - Take out, rinse, ready to eat

Filipino Diagonal Lashing
A lashing used in lightweight construction work. Start with the middle of the rope, tucking the running ends through the middle "loop" after going round both spars. Use the "loop" to pull the spars together. Now proceed as for a diagonal lashing taking the running end round both spars, keep-ing both ends together. Separate the ends and take frapping turns be-tween the spars, pulling the rope tight as you do so. Complete the frap-ping turns and finish off with a reef (square) knot.

A sheer lashing is often used to bind adjacent poles together. It is also a good way to reinforce a broken or weak pole. The frapping turns used to tighten the lashing may be omitted and replaced with wedges inserted between the poles.

ing time will be short (such as for shrimp). - Vegetables: Use fresh or canned. Green beans, corn, carrots, onions. - Seasonings: salt, pepper, seasoned salt, garlic salt. Your only limitation is your imagination! Blackened Chicken - 1/2 boneless, skinless chicken breast per person - Spicy Seasoning: 2 1/2 tablespoons paprika, 2 tablespoons garlic
powder, 1 tablespoon salt, 1 tablespoon onion powder, 1 tablespoon dried thyme, 1 tablespoon ground red pepper, 1 tablespoon black pepper. Combine all ingredients; store in an airtight container.
1. Prepare Spicy Seasoning (see above). 2. Trim and wash chicken. Put each piece, one at a time, into a ziplock
bag and pound with a mallet until each is about 1/2 inch thick. 3. Rub each side of the chicken pieces with seasonings and cook for 7
minutes per side over medium heat in skillet which has been sprayed with non-stick spray.
4. Cut cooked chicken across the grain into thin strips. Serve on salad or rice.

Used to lash two poles together (constructing a flagpole). Tie a clove hitch round the bottom pole. Wind the rope around both six or seven times. Finish with two half hitches round both poles. The lashing can be tightened by driving a small wooden peg between the poles. If possible force a wedge under the lashings to make them really tight. If the spars are vertical, bang the wedge in downwards.

Beef Goulash - 3 lb beef, cubed - 1 tsp salt - 2 tbs Cooking oil - 1 can mushroom soup Brown the beef in cooking oil. Add salt and soup. Cover and simmer about 1 hour. Beef Stew - 2 lb stew meat, 1" cubes - 1 large onion, sliced - 3 tbs oil - 1 can (1lb 12oz) tomatoes - 1/2 c flour - 1 clove garlic, minced - 2 tsp salt - 1/3 c water - 1/2 tsp pepper - 1 bay leaf - 6 carrots, cut into 1" pieces - 3 medium potatoes, peeled,
cubed Coat beef cubes with a mixture of flour, salt and pepper. Brown in hot oil in bottom of oven. While oven is still hot, pour water in and scrape brown bits from bottom. Place remaining ingredients into oven and cover. Simmer 1 to 2 hours or until meat is tender and potatoes are done.
Dump Cobbler 1 pkg yellow or white cake mix 2 cans pie filling or 1 large can fruit cocktail Cinnamon Butter Pour cans of filling or fruit cock-tail in bottom of Dutch oven. Sprinkle cake mix over top of fruit, DO NOT STIR! Sprinkle with cinnamon and cut pads of butter and let fall on surface. DO NOT STIR, it will burn. Cover and bake until bubbly and top is lightly browned, about 30-45 min. Any combination of fruits can be used. Can change fruit to peach, cherry or pineapple.
